The tile of the video is: "Arriving of the Honda Rebel 1100 DCT"

According to the WWW: 85HP and 233kg

    85HP... that's almost 2/3 of what a 600 super sport puts down.... 555

won't have to worry about the throttle too much, this ain't gonna be any kind of a wheelie threat. Read "sedate cruiser"

Personally I would also recommend this one. If not mistaken it's around 100 Thb / Kg Pengasius Filets. in Makro

Tried and rejected... frozen pangasius from Big C... cheap as hell and looked great on the plate when fried, but one bite and we both agreed it sucked. We reluctantly finished dinner, but gave the rest of the filets away to gf's thai friends.

Still very much looking for good fryable Cod/Halibut replacement here in Phuket. I did see some Frozen cod filets at Villa Market, but I imagine quite pricy... I may be going back regardless because I'm feeling that fried fish craving coming on.

  3. 500B on Lazada, and they all come from China... I've ordered tons of electronic bits that way and never had a single issue. There's nothing on the package indicating a radio receiver, and even if they inspected the package they'd think it was a memory stick. Nobody in Thai customs would even know <deleted> it is... It doesn't look like a radio.

    It won't be a problem.

Watch some you-tube video's they'll tell you everything you need to know to get started.

Depends what you want it for. A Nvidia is way over spec and pointlessly expensive for someone who just wants to stream movies etc.

Had a 2000 baht Android box for over 3 years and zero problems.

Glad you're happy with your setup.

  5. Are you interested in SWL-shortwave listening, or in amateur (ham) radio (two way communication)?

If you're interested in listening to shortwave broadcasts (and lots more) go to Youtube and search for videos with the keyword RTL-SDR. Lots of stuff for the entry level listener and very cheap to get started. All you need is a cheap RTL-SDR dongle that connects to your computer, an antenna (a random long wire strut up in the trees or on your balcony) and some free software.

If you're interested in transmitting, ie. amateur radio, you'll need to be tested and licensed, which is not easy to do in Thailand if you're not already licensed as an amateur radio operator in your home country.  Actually it's not at all easy even if you are...555. Lots of paperwork and bureaucracy, TIT.

  6. Before getting TOO twisted up about this story, I would make the observation that this Thai Visa News story is so far uncorroborated, with NO other news sources in Thailand reporting it as far as i can tell after doing my best internet searching... Not the Bangkok Post, not the Phuket News, not Thaiger, and not anybody else that I can find.

The news story notably cites ONLY unnamed "government officials". I think that's a little bit "thin" for a news story this incendiary.

A call to a friend who is a respected long time journalist for a significant Thai newspaper who stays pretty much up to the minute on these matters reveals that he has heard nothing about this from other journalists, government sources, or in editorial meetings.

Maybe Thai Visa News has scooped every other news group in Thailand.... maybe... But I'm going to wait until I see something a little more substantial before I get too worked up about it. If anybody reading has found any confirming reports, especially any with named sources, I would love to see it because if this story is in fact accurate... well... light the torches

Edit to add: FWIW, the only international stories I can find (yes I have a VPN) relating to a tracking bracelet are from Oct and Nov. of 2020 when such devices were approved. As far as I know the only use of them has been for tourists arriving yacht-borne which has been well documented.

    Still waiting....
