  1. I read Thai visa almost everyday but only reply when in country which is getting less than i would like. No one deserves to be a victim of the crimes that happen and are happening too often in Phuket. But you must think about when reading some of the stories of What the hell some of these victims are thinking of there safety just read the stories 1am fighting some one off who has a knife, drunk 2 am in the morning etc Hell I dont even go to sleepy old Adelaide South Australia and head back home at 2am in the morning and I am 6 ft and weigh 90kgs

A bloke told me in 1975 Manilla Phillipines you wouldnt do Kings cross Sydney drunk at 1am where you speak the language let alone Angelies City Philipines wake up people there is no social security ie payment from government if you dont earn money you starve. There are enough warnings from government and lonely planet etc guide books on the dangers of travelling the world. head of to the full moon party Samui great place take your life in your hands or should I say someone elses

I sincerely am sorry to those who have died or been attacked in this country and especially to their famillies maybe I have been lucky or is it I am carefull I see the people who live here as not the same as me which is not a slurr on them but I do drive here and if you do think about it especially motor cycle riders in this country.

  2. Good! You can't negotiate with anarchist criminals who have been shown remarkable tolerance thus far. Their criminal mob have held the Country to ransom for long enough and their concern for human life is hypocritically one sided stemming only from the desire of their leaders to get an amnesty so they can go off and spend Thaksin's millions.

Where do you get such garbage? They want democratically elected governments to be left alone to rule without the elitist army backed thugs removing them from power and then slaughtering them in the streets when they protest. It's the government who are the criminals.

Fast Eddie I was wondering how long, as you are a newbie you have been in country, to make such remarks please investigate the situation a little more as you are showing how ignorant you are of the situation, or perhaps you come from a country that acceps thugs, paid be sore loosers such as a former prime minister with buckets of money, he was crafty enough to bamboosle from the thai population. Or go back to the bar where you were drinking as you could not be serious sober or maybe you can. :D:)

    Thanks Sleepy

  3. It is a shame that like a lot of things in LOS a person takes their life and puts it in someone elses hands. I went for the last time on a newly built speedboat (plywood) was grossly over powered and over crowded. life jackets too small for falung.

The boat all shiny and new could not keep up with the older speed boats as at the equivalent speed was highly unstable and the driver although desperate to keep up with the other boats had at a certain speed to back off to stabilize the boat. Time and time again he continued to do this (ring a bell to anyone ) I am glad that it was a calm day as I would say that in rough conditions the boat may have capsized. Being a boaty myself I could estimate that someone would not have survived especially the children Thai and falung as were many on board. Krabi to Phi Phi

  4. I'm hoping to fly into Bali in the New Year and my daughter's UK passport will have just about expired by then. Her Thai one will be easy and cheap enough to renew and I wanted to know if Thais can get in as easily as us to Indonesia. It appears (from a bit of web research) that they are easier, but I wanted to know if anyone had any recent first-hand experience or opinions.

    Cheers

We went to Bali and I had to purchase a visa on arrival (Australian) where as my wife with Thai passport was checked in at immigration and went straight through. Dont forget to take rupiah when you leave as a departure tax is required per person and once through customs and upstairs there are no Atm's inside. I forget how much but inquire when you arrive as a bit of a trap as you need to go back out of the secure area to get money and the security guards try to hit you up for a fee. Hope this helps

  5. Will miss getting saturated in LOS. Songran is really good fun in Panom Sarakham. Alas have had to come back to home to earn money. Wife and I are going to the Buddist Temple In Adelaide SA. for Thai New year and to meet some other Thai people who live in South Australia. Cheers to all and a happy Songkran, keep safe.

  6. Here here three cheers to LOZ. I like thailand for what it is, yes there are also a few things i find difficult to understand (ie the amount of plastic bags floating around the country side) but hey it's Thailand and "never mind" as for corruption try Australia where if you are in the government and you cost the taxpayer millions i'ts okay.tisk tisk oops. Yes some problems in Thailand have a look at the rest of the world Singapore and south Korea buildings collapse and kills hundreds due to faulty engineering and greed. So yes the airport is a worry but who designed it some country in Europe . Also new airport terminal in France partly collapses! So I say to people who jump on the negative of everything that happens here, maybe it is time to leave the land of the smiles and plastic bags and go for a reality check Try Wembly stadium london hum havin a bit of bover there. Or Adelaide SA were unless you have a few hundred grand to spare you will find it very difficult to launch or moor your boat

  7. Rapists of British tourist escape death sentence

While Thailand bills itself as the "Land of Smiles" with sunny beaches, there are regular incidents of foreigners involved in sexual assaults, drug offences and sometimes rape or murder.

Ozzies journos to the fore again!

What crap, and what a slur on Thailand. Most of the foreigners getting into trouble with drugs and stuff are Western and Ozzie dickheads going to Kah Pang Ngan, getting stoned and pissed and behaving as crassly as they do in their own countries. It's not the Thais making them behave so stupidly.

Very safe place Thailand and we don't need third rate news agencies putting this shit out at the start of the high season.
