Moderators... please delete all off topic posts from weed addicted members whose only argument is to compare a drug such as cannabis to alcohol and cigs. Can all people commenting on my valid opinion above, please keep to the topic. thanks

Boeing aircraft have more safety and maintenance issues because the initial build was sloppy. That especially includes wiring looms with wires that have been joined in many places instead of a single length (which is against build regulations ). The joins fail and electrical issues like this ensue.
But then again probably not the issue

Humans caused Climate Change, and only humans can mitigate it. We have passed the "tipping point", Climate Change will continue to get worse. Vast populations will be displaced, partly due to rising sea levels, and as those people seek new lands to live on there will be conflicts and wars. Now is a good time to focus on mitigating this looming catastrophe, mainly by avoiding petroleum energy. Green energy industry will provide many jobs and a better environment. Fossil fuel corporate interests will dispute this and supply much obfuscating propaganda to encourage doubt. China is largest contributor to greenhouse gases, followed by USA, EU, and Russia, in that order.
Bowie told us we had Five Years back in 1973 - if we couldn't trust Bowie back then why should we trust your unsubstantiated fear-mongering now?

I tell all my friends visiting Thailand to ensure they have no cannabis on them when leaving the country, especially if travelling on to Malaysia or Singapore where the sniffer dogs at customs will sniff out even a few grains on clothing or or in a bag.

I bought a battery operated B&D weed whacker/whipper snipper/lawn edger on Lazada about 8 months ago, so it's still under warranty. It's developed a problem either in the switch or a faulty battery, I don't know which, but it runs intermittently and then stops. Problem is the B&D main repair centre is in Samut Prakan and it's going to be a hassle to find a box to send it in, arrange for a courier to collect (and pay for it) when I'd just as soon pay some local repairer who service B&D products.

Cue: "Global warming is a hoax!"
The real question should be - who is funding Khun Thon’s Marine Biology research and what is his evidence for making a seemingly unsubstantiated link between the state of the coral and supposed rises in sea temperature.

That's as maybe but in the time between his claim for asylum and processing he should have been kept in a secure detention centre - preferably a former military base along with all similar illigal entrants and deported with the minimum of investigation as to his reason for requesting asylum after wandering around Europe as it is alleged

He wasn’t ‘imported’ he arrived without a visas, claimed asylum, a claim that was not processed.
He should have been processed and deported soon after arrival.
He was not, with tragic consequences.
RIP his victim and condolences to his victims family.

A typical non substantiated comment in one of the threads that burning rice stubble adds to global warming - maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t. It certainly adds to localised pollution in the short term but in terms of CO2 release it is probably less than 20% of the CO2 absorbed by the rice plants during the growing season therefore at least an +80% carbon capture.

I don't want to be a scraremonger but I think its fair to say that the world is far closer to all out war than its been since the Cuban Misile Crisis of 1962. There's conflict in the Middle East, Syria, several in Africa and many people (including myself) don't think Putin's appetite will end with Ukraine. Then there's the tension between the US and China - in particular in relation to Taiwan. There is also a general tension between Islamist factions, if not entire nations and the West in general.
I'm not a fan of nuclear weapons but I think its fair to say that the deterrent they have provided has almost certainly stopped major conflicts developing until now. I'd like to think that deterrent still exists but we have several lunatic country leaders around the world at the moment. Russia currently holds the world's largest stockpile of nucear warheads (6257) and is controlled by a madman with, in my opinion, designs on rebuilding the Soviet Union. There is also a distinct possibility that another, very unpredictable lunatic will take charge of the holder of the world's second biggest nuclear stockpile (5550), the USA later this year.
I believe Putin has major aspirations and has spent a lot of time trying to align himself with various nations including Iran, North Korea and China. I'm not so sure however, that China would support Russia in any expansionist escapades he may embark upon. One thing I think is a distinct possibility is that if Putin takes Ukraine and then moves on to attack another country, in particular a NATO member, that would most likely be the spark that ignites a major world conflict.
Thailand likes to ride 'two horses' but if any major conflict kicks off, its geographical position will almost certainly dictate its allegiance - China is not the same 'helpless' country it was during WW2.
So, given that so many members here currently live in Thailand and have made major financial and marital committments in the country, how safe do you feel in Thailand at the moment?
It could be that the very 'unpredictable lunatic' will take charge of the holder of the world's second biggest nuclear stockpile (5550), the USA later this year and pull the world back from the brink as it was nowhere near where it is today when he was last in charge

I believe life had some sort of intelligent design, and as I've pulled human remains out of a submerged plane crash and observed the lack of life, there is something about humans having a soul. It's even been weighed. As much as the method used to weigh the soul was sloppy science, I think the bible is sloppy narrative. Jesus was a short dark guy, not the European with flowing brown hair currently selling His book. It's been rewritten so many times with so many inconsistencies that it's difficult to fathom anyone taking it 100% seriously. There ARE many good parables, the lessons are good standards to apply to your walk through life. Do I believe we were created? Yes. Do I believe in the Judeo-Christian interpretation of God? No.
Hope you're not offended by CharlieH above😅

Pattaya seems to have the worse roads for back pain, 20 mins of riding around and my back hurts, on koh Chang last week, no problem as the roads are much smoother.
I have a Honda Click, yes i can get better shocks, still not sure they'll be good enough.
Is there a scooter that's smooth even over speed bumps?
I don't really want another enduro type bike or motorbike unless a last resort
Never had problems with the Mark 1 Beer Scooter - even puts me to bed but doesn't always leave my clothes tidy 😊

I freaked out the first time I witness this.
I'm surprised there not more fatalities because of this...
In any more advanced country the driver of the parcel truck or at least the bus would have stopped at a good distance before the oncoming vehicle, four way flashers on to protect himself from the rear and flashing headlights to warn the idiot to turn around - but at least to protect other following drivers then the other car driver would not be dead today😒
