They are happy to see the back of us and only provide minimal consular "services" to make it look like they are actully doing something for their overseas citizens (many of whom still pay taxes to HM Government). What about all those in the UK who send their kids to private schools or private healthcare so don't use the NHS - they still have to pay full taxes (likely at higher rate) so are effectively paying twice - no tax discount for that. You are on your own as with anything else here in Thailand. Either return to the UK, wait in line to get the vaccine free or pay for it here when it becomes available for purchase. It's our choice to be here.
while working in mongolia, big fish in a small pool(!) i knew the british ambassador quite well, he had served in several countries and had a lot of experience. there is a lot more to embassy work than looking after citizens who, quite frankly, often get into trouble becasue of their own actions/omissions, a basic situation being no travel insurance...
there are a minority of tourists and ex-pats that seem to think the embassy should be there at their beck and call, that is simply not feasible. however i have seen embassy staff working extremely hard to support individuals in genuine need.

so that site just reported a crash of a 737 in the ocean, also fake news not to be trusted ?
obviously, not every story in the daily mail is unreliable, however i would be sceptical about stories that only appear in the DM and/or other tabloid newspapers. while the DM has its audience i recommend other more reputable news media sources for accurate reporting of news stories

OP, surely your question is best directed to the british embassy?

there is an alcohol ban in place, occasionally you need to read thai and follow thai media and information outlets to keep up to date and/or understand what's going on in thailand!

I don't care what they tell us. They will abuse that kind of invasive app. This administration has shown itself as being draconian, power hungry, controlling, and far reaching too many times already.
anyone feeling that strongly about personal liberty and freedom from government and corporate snooping should really not be using a mobile phone as they are easily tracked by the authorities, also any social media apps, google, facebook, even sites like this should be avoided if privacy is a priority

It seems that farangs can get caught in a grey zone about covid vaccinations.
What thai official tells, it looks they only care of thai citizens.
Many of our born countries also seems not to care about people who are living outside the country.
Well I think/see some private thai hospitals will offer vaccinations to very overcharged prices, there was already an example in Bangkok with a private hospital who offered vaccination for around 10000 baht without having the vaccine, this is not the right way to get the vaccination, to make some greedy thai speculants happy, I think. A Pfizer or Moderna vaccine from USA/Europe cost around 1000 baht, the oxford vaccine cost around 100 baht.
I have still not seen or heard about any serious vaccine offers with quality western vaccine to farangs in Thailand, which will be avaiable this or the next year ?
What to do ?
what to do?
go home and get vaccinated?

doesn't look much like a hospital... certainly compared to the additional health care facilities i've seen set up in other countries

We had a great maskless birthday party for my wife on Wednesday. No one in the village complained, not even the Phu Yai Ban who was or DJ!
So glad we don't have any whining falangs around here.
as adults we all make risk assessments; sure there is a small chance of catching the virus however that has to be offset by the high percentage of the elderly/those with medical conditions suffering quite seriously if they catch covid. as the thais say; up to you.

haha, you just need to get organised; i have friends who work all over the world, some countries have fewer restrictions, some have more that thailand.
a 'can do' approach goes a long way ????

excellent idea, following what other countries have done, sometimes needed, sometimes not, but good to be prepared

this whole debacle occured because of a lack of basic security preparedness, if someone had had the forethought to prepare for what was always likely to be a potentially disruptive protest the outcome would have been much reduced.

three months to vaccinate a million, a population of around 70 million, 210 months (17.5 years) for the whole population. and is that to give both vaccinations? other wise it will be double the timescale.
i'm sure things will speed up once they get going.

unlesseven if you tip off the plod anonymously or via a Thai proxy.Personally, unless I'm directly affected I'm just keeping schtum.
If you really feel that strongly head off to the cop-shop with the relevant details and file a report, if they act on it or not is then up to them.
not sure about that, the crimestoppers hotline in the uk, where people can supply the authorities with information aout crime/criminals, has been extremely benefitial in putting criminals behind bars, which is exactly where they should be for the good of society as a whole.

crickey, i'm very much a DIY amateur, but it looks like the problem goes deeper than filling in a few cracks. for sure i'd start again, and make sure the foundation was solid. i'm sure experts here will give you more technical advice on what's necessary .
