  4. Not to scare you but

Yes you can come on the black list for done nothing wrong like a fake police report.

Yes somebody can pay someone to get you on the blacklist.

Yes we have corruption in Thailand

Yes i know some one that is not convicted and not bin laden and he is on the blacklist.

No you will never know who put you on it because as soon as you ask they kick you out.

But i think your friend is BS you

Is it possible to be renoved from the "black-list" status?

Does anyone know the proceedure involved?

Would a formal request to the Thai Embassy be the start or is their more typical legal run-around required that costs a bunch of money and delivers empty promises as usual?

  5. Hi :o

Fastest speed (in a car) in Thailand was close to 180 km/h, around 6 AM on a Sunday on the elevated tollway going towards Don Mueang airport to pick up my boyfriend. The road was completely empty and i just wanted to finally know how fast my Volvo can actually go - it topped out at that speed.

Fastest on a bike in Thailand was 183 km/h according to a digital speedo (touching 200 according to the original one) on my bored-up RXZ (150cc two-stroke) around 7 AM going towards Lad Phrao on that road (can't remember it's name even though i pass it twice daily) between the end of Ekkamai and Lad Phrao. The bike could have gone faster but i got traffic ahead of me.

Fastest on the Autobahn (i'm German) with a car was with my ex-BF's heavily modified Ford Granada station wagon (Corvette engine and various other modifications), i hit that car's top speed of about 260 km/h. At that time i didn't even have a driver's license for cars, only for motorbikes! (and when i finally made the license, my driving teacher was wondering if i'm a natural talent or if i have some sort of illegal experience - i didn't tell him that i had close to 15,000 kilometers already).

Fastest on a bike on the Autobahn was close to 280 km/h with a souped-up Kawasaki GPZ 900 Turbo. I worked in the bike shop and had changed the steering bearings, then my boss told me to take it up to top speed and see if it goes straight without being shaky. My license was restricted to 34 horse powers, i told my boss so - and he just said "but you CAN ride, so go and ride it". It's scary, i don't like to go THAT fast on a bike, specially if it's not mine and i don't know it's characteristics inside-out.

    Best regards.....

    Thanh

210 kms/hr....2006 Honda Civic 2L....Bangkok - Chonburi over-head expressway...the overdrive in the civic was hooped shortly after that...oh...had a little tail wind as well....its really not that fast....been fater in a BIG V8....but not in Thailand...

    opps...faster...hahahaha

Thanks alot. I did go to one of the offices today and found out you have to reprogram the dish TWO TIMES everyday.... One time install and dish and decoder about 30,000bht with no monthly fee. Only about 35 channels (good english channels though) and the reprogramming thing was too much trouble.

dont even think of spending ANY kind of money on a dynasat receiver and dish,

the network with the 35 channels are upgrading their encryption and the dynast

receiver will not be able to decode the new encryption

    So what network is it??

I still have a Dynasat satalite, worked good for a few years and now nothing...gonna keep the dish and ditch the 2 decoders I have...can you recommend a new system ( decoders ) that will work on my dish?

Living in Banglamung if that has any bearing on who is available to suppy...

    Thanks

    PM me, I can help.

Hi..I was inquiring about changing my Dynasat system to anything that works...you said pm you...I am moving at the end of the month and will take my dish with me..I have 2 decoders + a small one which lets me change channels on another TV. The system is NFG for so long but I would hate to simply toss the dish in the trash...any suggestions?

  10. Poll: Adultery main cause of family break-ups in Thai society; politicos poor role models

BANGKOK: -- Adultery is the major cause for family break-ups and divorce in Thai society, according to a new survey conducted by Assumption University's ABAC Poll.

Noppadol Kannikar, director of the respected poll, said the survey, conducted among 3,088 people in 18 provinces nationwide between March 25 and April 12, found that over three out of four families -- almost 77 per cent -- and 69 per cent divorced persons agreed that adultery was the number one cause which led to broken families.

Physical attacks, drug addiction, gambling, a lack of responsible attitudes toward the family, and alcoholism are other factors which also bring about family breakups, according to the poll.

Six out of 10 -- or about 60 per cent of the respondents -- said that joining in activities among family members during leisure time, meeting relatives and displaying love to one another would strengthen the family.

The poll was announced on the eve of Thailand's 'Family Day' which takes place on Monday.

Near two-thirds -- about 64 per cent of respondents said that Thai society was no longer generally supportive because today's political leaders are fighting with one another, causing divisiveness in society.

    --TNA 2008-04-13

Oh my gosh....cheating on your wife or husband causes divorce? How much money did the survey cost and how many intellectual brainiacts did how many years of university to figure that one out...

I also cant belive that Physical attacks, drug addiction, gambling, a lack of responsible attitudes toward the family, and alcoholism are other factors which also bring about family breakups, according to the poll.....good lord, what a break-through !!!!

Now we all know the secret to a successful marriage !!!!

    Idiots....

  11. my mum always told me ,be carefull who you step on on the way up ,cos you'll meet them on the way down

Yes...touche'...and Mr Tax-Sin certainly stepped on alot of people..no "conflict of interest" laws in Thai politics...

Another...well, I am sorry wont cut it...they should have never have let him back in....I doubt he will be fined a single baht and never see a second behind bars....

  12. Pattaya city did set-up some kind of emergency tourist fund for people who were victims of crime

or some other action not through their own fault. So many tourists end up in hospital here without

immediate access to funds or someone to help handle their affairs. few if any of the offending

motorists have insurance and I can only imagine handling things through the embassy is a very

slow and tedious process. It's surprising he was even admitted without considerable guarantee.

Not to add more to an already sad story...I am also very suprised they admitted him....when the money runs out, and it must be coming from somewhere, he will be moved to Banglamung Hospital...it happened to a friend of mine, after spending alot of money at the Pattaya Bkk on Sukhumvit...he was moved there due to lack of funds...he had an excellent insurance plan from the US Govt but unfortunately...it was he paid first, they paid him back later....he passed away from Cancer....under not so pleasant surroundings...

  13. You think 40k will lead the Canadian Gov't into thinking that is sufficient funds?

    I am afraid not....best bump that up a bit....more like 120K.

Promise to marry is just that...promise...it won't hold water with the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok.

It is easier to emmigrate that to visit....

I have never had a problem and have had 1 single, 1 multiple and another single visa issued...but it takes cash in her..well..in your case his.... :o ....bank....

  14. Thanks...if i can find a camp for kids near pattaya, I will certainly post the details.

A friend mentioned Horse-shoe point but their web-site only allows hotel / resort bookings.

    I will keep looking....

    Cheers...

  15. He goes to Srisuvit School on Sukhumvit Rd just north of Banglamung. We thought about sending him to "summer school" but he did that last year and we had hoped for some kind of "camp" he could attend to learn some more "natural" things instead of simply attending school again
