I'm leaning to new, but now I don't know.

I have a gaming desktop that is about 3 years old.  It's still sick.  I feel that it is probably pretty ok compared to top of line pc's today due to the lack of excitement over the past 8 or so years in the PC industry.  I kind of feel that we are topping out on the real story vs. the BS tech hype.  PC's just aren't advancing like they were prior to 10 years ago.  So now I'm thinking- used like suggested.  Hmm..  I hated used PC's before because of the quick advancement of PC's and the outdated used products being peddled.

Maybe used is ok now like Toyota cars are.  ???

Maybe a used name brand like Fujita, Dell, HP is the way to go, but the $400 laptop is maybe a two year project here, so I don't know now.

Give the student your 3 year old one and then get yourself something new...That way you know what you are giving the student works fine and you get something new.  I have a 9 year old Sony Vaio that works a charm. Replaced hard drive for 1500 baht, new screen case 4,000 baht, nothing else done in 9 years.  I recently bought a MacBook Air...also nice and faster, but I'll also use the Sony as backup and for MS Word applications...

You wonder where they get the idea they will need 900,000 shots? Ok, 450,000 twice, but based on what? Their records are all up the creek, most rely on a 2010 census, most of Pattaya's Thai population is migrant, especially from Issan, and registered in their home towns, and nobody has much of a clue as to how many retiree expats, work permit holders, illegal workers etc etc there are. A shot in the dark if you ask me (geddit???).

Hark I hear a pistol shot a sharshtal pish a shistal shot my #%$^& I still ain't shot....

My wife & family has Vietnamese ancestry.  As do many of her friends and distant relatives.  Hard-headed, ambitious people.  A couple of her school friends from 40+ years back are worth a million or three.  US dollars, not Baht. They get bored and just make money,

The Vietnamese fought for their independence from the French...and then the Americans....and they won their freedom.  Their toughness and inner steel is noticeable when visiting their country and seeing what they have done to transform it beyond a newly industrialized country (NIC).  Doubt they would be coming to help out at the OP's farm...

You may have failed to recognise that ThaiVisa is not a unified group, separate people with different arguments - there is no hypocrisy.

There is most certainly a group who will find anything something negative about anything Thai, but that is a minor but vocal minority.

Regarding vaccines opinions seem to fall into a few separate groups:

    1) Those who are Anti-vaccine (a rather vocal minority)

    2) Those who are pro-vaccines but anti-covid-vaccines (another vocal minority)

    3) Those who don’t mind waiting for their vaccines whichever brand.

    4) Those who don’t mind waiting for a specific brand of vaccine

    4) Those who want any vaccine as soon as possible and are complaining that the Thai roll out is not fast enough.

I think most reasonable people are in group 3 or 4 but thats not really a group with a strong voice as the voice of balance is rarely a topical point of discussion.

At this time the general public is not scheduled to start getting vaccine until June.  No hospitals have been allowed to import to date AFAIK and last word was that only AZ and Chinese vaccine would be allowed (although believe they earlier approved JJ but nobody allowed to import).  It is turning into a real mystery series with new plots daily.   To date less than 275k have received first shot.

Lopburi -- you are 100% correct about a mystery series.  The blood clot issue surrounding the AZ vax makes this a double trouble issue for Thailand because of the manufacturing agreement to make that vax here.  As J&J has a manufacturing plant in Lat Krabang you would think they could influence the government to approve distribution of the vax.  If this continues to go slowly perhaps vaccine shopping in Hong Kong or Singapore might be an option.

  6. You need to specify a complete power washing of the entire surface as part of the bid.  Write down exactly what you want them to do.  Write in covering the windows with newspaper.  DON'T forget to include a primer coat -- this helps eliminate the painting over dirt.  Most importantly specify what brand and quality of paint you want.
