  1. Ferry Capsizes In Thailand, All 42 Passengers Safe

BANGKOK: -- A passenger ferry carrying 42 people capsized off southern Thailand Tuesday, but rescuers saved all the passengers, it was reported. The ferry was taking a group of local villagers to the resort island of Phi Phi when the incident occurred.

Police Col. Somphob Kantasee said, "A ferry, which had a capacity of up to 100 people, sank when a wave hit the boat during a storm."

He said all the passengers were locals, including 38 villagers and four crewmembers. All were rescued by responding ships, Kantasee said.

Provincial Governor Siri Siriwaluck said the ferry was nearing Phi Phi island when it encountered strong waves because of a local storm.

Siriwaluck told a local television station, "About one third of the way to Phi Phi island, a strong storm broke out and the boat was hit by a big wave and capsized. During this time of year, there can be very rough waters and we don't advise anyone taking this kind of boat trip."

Most of the victims sustained only minor injuries and were all in safe condition, he adds.

  2. I am writing this making two assumptions:

    1. Your BF is Thai.

    2. Your post is genuine.

All I can say is it is highly unusual to find a gay Thai male who is so 'open.' Most Thai guys are really shy.

If it's for real - this is something from his past. We all have skeletons in our closet. Be grateful he told you first - rather than you discovering about his past second hand.

  3. I visited an old friend up country where he lives in a little village with his Wife, her Kids and extended Family the other day, and frankly I was shocked!

He has gone completely Native......Dressing Thai, speaking Thai, eating Thai, waiing all over the place etc.

I asked my GF what the locals think of him. She told me that they laughed behind his back.

Now ain't that sad? There he is integrating himself to death, and they think it's funny.

And this got me thinking. At a time when Thailand is becoming more and more Westernized, what possible reason is there for us Farangs to go the other way?

By all means respect Thai customs, Religion etc, but keep your own for Gawd's sake!

I know, I know most of you do. But there are plenty of peeps who are losing their identity.

    And I think it's a shame. Agreed?

    i pose the question,

is it better to be like this guy and go native, or is it better to be a bar hoping drunk, hormonger at a sea side resort.?

ill answer that one so none of you guys get confused. :o

i'll go with the guy going native. :D

    thank you very much. :D

  4. sawatdeekrub.yes psychiatry or counceling would be useful. problem is Thai local culture oppresses natural sexual developement.many bi-sex thai guys get hangups about being labeled "gay" others go the long road and experiment to make a few hundred bht.1 thai guy looks 4 gay encounters with ferangs but only via telephone also in desparation uses this service mentioned. Many westerners visit thailand 4 sexual encounters, however, the ferang dont realise how screwd up many thais are in private thinking.1thai farther tolled his son when his son was only 14yrs( if you become gay_ I'll kill you) hardly helpful. Now this guy is confused cos deep within he is attracted to samesex, but cannot allow personal contact with another. What should be closed down are the imfamous thai sauners where thousands of thai guys go to meet ferangs in exchange 4 money or presents.

I was amazzed when tolled by many thai ppl that the majority of thai failies look down on ferangs as animals- sexualy perverted.depressing life without education.

  5. sexually dysfunctional losers?

Please consult a psychiatric reference text.

Users of telephone services like the one shut down demonstrate many of the following characteristics; sexual fears or inhibitions; problems finding partners; uncertainty about sexual identity; a history of emotional or sexual abuse; significant relationship problems; depression, anxiety and other emotional problems. The aforementioned are a behavioural component of sexual dysfunction.

I added the word losers because they certainly are not prime dating material. If you were a nice quality girl would you want to date a guy that drooled into his telephone?

In respect to the young students that were on the lines, although one can laugh it off, the job does have an impact and can lead to feelings of shame and guilt which can in turn lead to the operator' s own emotional problems. This in and of itself was another valid reason to shut it down. Older women usually do this work in the west because they are not as susceptible to burn out and are better able to treat it as just a job.

What do you mean to "consult a psychiatric reference text"?

I find what you have posted in regards to the background of these users rubbish.

I think you will find plenty of normal people using these services. Of course I have no idea what the word "normal" means.

  6. Wow,seems thailand is not behind in the splur of violence what is occuring more and more on daily basis in a lot of other places around the world.it almost looks like a trend is going on.Very sad indeed and I wish me and all other people on the forum never have to engage in such useless violence,it makes me sad,in the these days things can happen and come from any corner on anyplace,we should be aware it could be just around the corner, and that the nice lady who sells durian to you was the unwanted victim of a totally craze man.So useless, such a waste.
