  1. Good for him. Signing some pointless agreement that will only be followed by those whose situation makes it relatively easy to comply with and possibly impossible, or at least difficult, for Thailand to do with their limitted resources only sets them up to be shamed and embarrassed when they fail. Rich demanding that poor suffer to satisfy their hypocritical whims disgusts me. I am all for protecting the environment, but the simplistic views of a bunch of pompous jackasses that fly hundreds of private jets to a conference and talk about what everyone else should be doing to protect the environment should be treated with the contempt they deserve.
  2. looks vietnamese to me, and they are not open yet ????
  3. 555 that is why i am skipping november. let others play guinea pig for the system rollout
  4. Reducing carbon by using electric vehicles is a bit like going on a diet and eating at restaraunts so that it isnt you adding all the sugar and oil to your food.
  5. if that is accurate i am fine with it. I usually spend a few days in bangkok to adjust anyway. A few more days wont kill me. Was that mentioned in one of the press releases? I didn't see it anywhere, although i stopped reading the daily rule changes awhile back.
  6. Anybody know what a blue zone is? My home province is not a blue zone and i have no idea if that means i cant go or just no booze. Dont care about the bars but if their tracking app is meant to keep us in the blue zones not much point in going back.
  7. People in Australia may think one way and people in Thailand may be thinking another. Only time will tell who is right and those two outcomes are not mutually exclusive. Chinese property sales are way down but there are still plenty of sales happening. Some of those sellers will be ahead of the curve and not dump their profits into more chinese property. Those are the ones Thailand may be hoping to attract. What does young chinese buyers and future demographics have to do with anything? The story and my post were about possible short term possibilities. Obviously the chinese property market will collapse, probably soon, but that doesn't mean everyone in china will be broke. There will be some that saw it coming before the others and some of those will want to get there money into assets outside of china before the whole economy falls apart.
  8. The chineese are exactly why the thai property market could be optimistic. The speculators who are able to liquidate their chineese properties will have cash they want to get out of china. Thailand is an accessible market for those not well enough connected to be able to access western markets. Only time will tell if enough of them will be able to get out of their chineese properties and be able to get the cash offshore before the bottom falls out but the Thai market could benefit.
  9. This statistic is very misleading not to mention inaccurate. I was going to elaborate but screw it. i don't feel like correcting media manipulation today.
  10. <deleted> does opening even mean? If I was to go to an opened area, what is to prevent me from going somewhere not open? Are there checkpoints everywhere? if they let me in I can hangout in an "open" area to "quarantine" for a week or two but am I then allowed to go anywhere I want? i just want to go home. PS: i cant believe the acronym "w.....t.......f" is a banned term. Essential term when discussing many subjects here.
  11. Something tells me our ideas of adventure and risk analysis are a bit different.
  12. your tagline seems a bit incongruous to your attitude towards this virus outbreak. ????
  13. "Over 84% of Thailand’s COVID fatalities had not been vaccinated" it makes me sad to see people use headlines and stories like this as if it shows anything about this vaccine. Key data points are absent from the article. What percent of the population is vaccinated being the most basic one. For instance, without taking in other factors such as who is most likely to be vaccinated, if 16% of the population is vaccinated then this statistic would show no difference in death rate between vaccinated and unvaccinated. There is also the issue of the timeline. Deaths of unvaccinated have been counted over a far longer duration as vaccines have only been administered recently. You could have just as easily given these people grape cool-aid and come up with these statistics. This article is nothing more than an attempt to convince people to get vaccinated. it is sad to me that so many people can be so easily manipulated. if you want to get vaccinated get vaccinated, if you don't, don't. I don't care, it makes no difference to me. Please don't allow pseudo-science and garbage statistics in the media to influence your decision. There are risks in either choice and the decision is deeply personal which depends on an individuals helth conditions. My current stats: At least 8 friends and family cofirmed infected and recovered (more suspected} 1 73 year old died who had multiple other issues At least 18 friends and family vaccinated with no or minor side effects 1 47 year old died from bloodclotting believed due to vaccine 1 43 year old suffering from multiple symptoms consistent with known side effects of vaccine
