    Passport.

    Completed TM7.

    Passport photo. (4x6cm)

    Copy of Passport data page.

    Copy of Visa.

    Copy of entry stamp.

    Copy of TM6.

    1,900 baht fee.

    Proof of address.

Ensure a TM30 has been previously filed.

Thank you for this.  I just entered Thailand (Bangkok) on my 60 day TR visa and was confused what I should do before I go apply for my 30 day extension.

If you don't mind me asking, and sorry for any stupid questions as Im trying to just be prepared, the TM7 form I can just find online and fill out correct?  As for the TM30 this is something that I will need the place I will be renting to complete?  And with that Im assuming I still need to complete a 90 day stay online?

Again, sorry for all the questions, dumb or not, I just want to make sure I go about the process correct.  Thank you alot!

  2. Thank you for this topic.  Running off your topic, I have a question regarding the COE.  What if they flight you used and submitted for your TR visa changes (reschedules a day later) after you've already got it?  Will that be an issue when I submit my NEW flight info for my COE?  Sorry to bother but I just want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for failure haha.  Thanks everyone!

I don't know if you will find those flights. Prior to covid 19 there were onward fights from various companies. They had very limited life span. Referred to as throw away tickets. Also there was very cheap flights eg BKK to Saigon for under 1000baht. Of course they currently are not available.

Another option it to look for carrier that allows credit for cancelled return flight.

That's fair.  I was thinking in the way you are as well about booking the flight with a carrier that will allow my cancellation to be used as credit for a later flight (seeing as I'll need to buy my return flight at some point anyway).

Thank you for your help also!

  4. Quick question for anyone that can help...

and for the record I am not trying to overtake the OP however I planned on acquiring their services at a later time and need some guidance.

I will be receiving my TR visa from the USA  to enter Thailand end of April.  My girlfriend got a job offer she couldn't refuse in Bangkok and I will be coming along with her.  At first I was applying for the STV however that only allows 270 days and she's there 12 months so I was told to come in on my TR visa and then hire the services of an agent to covert my visa to a volunteer visa.

I guess my only worry is that I have to provide a round trip flight into Thailand and existing Thailand in order for my visa process.  My question is has anyone else been in a similar situation?  If so let me know, please, what steps you too.  For those that haven't would I best find an airline that will allow cancellation of flights and offer credit so I can in fact use that to fly back AFTER (& hopefully if) my volunteer visa (not the name of it, I know lol) expires??

The same goes for insurance...im trying to find ones that will allow me to extend/change also.

Thanks for any help in this situation.  It's beyond appreciated.

The special tourist visa is for long stay, up to 270 days. But I 100% agree that the requirements are ridiculous. Good way to continue killing the tourist industry.

    why not book cancellable hotel?

Wouldn't the visa run get you 15 nice of quarantine each time you do it?

I never thought about the cancellable hotel!  Good call and thank you for that.

As for the VISA run, I guess you are right.  I am ignorant to the entire visa experience, so I apologize.  Question however, if it can be extended (and I know it's not guaranteed) 2 more times (90 days each) for a total of 270 days that can be done without doing a visa run then correct?  Thank you for any help!

The headline caught my eye because I've never ever heard of a criminal record check for any application for Tourist visa.  So I was wondering what exactly this "Special" Tourist visa is and decided to read about it and I was left speechless.

How,  or why, would anyone actually get one of these visas because the requirements are outrageously impossible?  (OP, I'd be interested to know why you are applying for this?)

Beyond their mandatory insurance and flight ticket (who buys that without even knowing if you'll get a visa?) and a criminal history check, and quarantine hotel paid up booking for 14 days, they also what letter from employer (not pay stubs).  Do any actual employees in America get vacation more than 14days at a time ?

Then they want, fully paid up residential lease for entire time of intended stay !

Then they want medical certificate of disease free status (not just covid free) !

And assuming that you have all of that to process, after getting the visa, you then have to jump through more hoops to get a COE ?  Just for a 30 or 60 day stay?

Ok, I get it, they wanted to completely shut the borders to their country, but  do they really expect anyone who would go through all of that or is this just to block Americans?   And then why would anyone actually go through it, are people that desperate to spend a couple of days or weeks in Thailand?

To be fair US citizens don't need a letter from employer haha.  But yeah there are so many hoops to jump thru.  Myself, from US, want to get an initial 60 days and hope for an extension of 30 to make it 90.  Then do 'visa run' to maximize it to 270 days.  My partner got a job there for 9 month contract and I want to also come along.  However, I won't be working there in Bangkok.

That's for myself.  The only real upset I see is confirming a place of residence before we even go considering we were hoping to find a place once there...
