  1. Hi to everyone!

It seems to me that regarding spouses visa the only topic discussed in this forum is all about foreign husband married to a thai wife..In my friends case (both foreigners) the one currently and legaly working is his wife and his husbands visa is a dependent visa from her..The multi million dollar question is,will this new visa regualtion have a huge impact in this kind of visa ???will he still be able to continue extending his dependent visa?any advice sunbelt? than you.....

  2. Mr Thaksin looked serious and told reporters about the unexpected coup.

''On my way here I was prime minister. On my way back I'm jobless,'' he was quoted as saying.

now i guess it sucks getting fired from your job on your day -off!!!!!!!!!

TIT has a new meaning Thaksin Is Thrown out..... :o

    LOS=Living Out of Siam

  3. Suwat denied the crackdown was related to the arrest in Bangkok last month of John Mark Karr, the American teacher who was thought to have been involved in the high-profile JonBenet Ramsey murder case. He said there were many reasons that extended back for a long period.

ok so let me get this straight if this is not about the high profile case of john mark karr, and only about foreigners who don't pay taxes then why not charge these guy's tax everytime they cross the border??also they keep on saying that they want to keep bad people away from thailand.who also thought that all these "bad people"they refer to are border crossers?i mean shit john mark karr had a work permit right?he didn't cross the border every 30 days.

they also blame foreigners who work illegaly in thailand, how bout u guys blame them guys who hire these workers who pays a slave ass salary??i mean most of this thai businesses/businessman can't afford to pay for their employees work permits.i used to teach in a province before and there's a big shortage of teachers back there, but most of these schools don't have enough funds to pay for our work permit so i left.i guess they won't see the impact of this law now but give it a few months time maximum a year there and then we can only say mai pen rai.

  4. Have you seen how many people are reading this?!?!?!

:o It affects many many people and some might just be worried. This MIGHT only be the start of more bad news. Since the cutting of the investment visa and tourist visas, I would think that they might just tighten all the screws on visas.

Who knows what falls out of the wood work in the next few months.

i couldn't agree more.....next thing we know is they'll be taking away non immig."o" visas.e.g.dependent visa when your spouse has a working permit and u depend on that visa.i do know a lot of people on that level of visa.and then they will tighten up tourists visas as well, whoever tought that they'll get tourist visas easily must be out of their mind...or again i maybe wrong :D

  5. Oh it is great to be 50+ year old male with a retirement visa living correctly in the LOS.

Where as before many on here looked down on us so called oldies and said we losers and only here for the young girls because we couldn't get a lady over seas. How the world changers.

Most not all of us, are nothing like that, we respect the laws of this country, times are a changing for you so called young men. Do it the right way and all will be well. If not move on to where the rules are more laxed.

I understand there will be some problems for some, but in your heart of hearts, you knew you were bending the rules as you stepped on the buses that took you over the borders.

I wish you all luck in getting over your problems :o

MORE YOUNG GIRLS FOR YOU EH OLD MAN!!!!!!!

  6. Just goto a Thai embassy/consulate overseas and get a single/double or triple entry. Easy. Then you can stay as a tourist for 3 months without having to leave. Every 3 months if on a single entry. Just go to another country and get another visa. Its not rocket science! Or am i wrong?

a lot of requirements are needed to get a tourist visa.u can't just get one when u need one.if i remember correctly they are asking for a proof (bank account) that u can really afford to visit thailand.and that's where the problem lies coz most of this guys are regular chaps.even when i used to cross aranyaPT they were asking for a 20,000 bahat show money...

    ONLY IN THAILAND

  7. bkkbaz,

your strategy might work if the thai embassies/consulates will allow you to get tourist visas over and over.i believe there's a limited number of renewals for tourist visas.or again i can be wrong....... :o

It seems (so far) that the solution for those under 50 with no inclination or need to work here is to do this every year:

    1. Get a quad-entry 6-month tourist visa (from your own country or elsewhere), come to Thailand.

    2. Do a visa run as usual every 60 days, which will put you on your 2nd entry after 2 months, and 3rd entry after 4 months, approx.

    2. Use the 4th and final entry the day before the visa expires, to get a further 60 days.

    3. Extend this 60-day stay to 90 days at the immigration office in Bangkok (costs about 2,000 baht, right?) - you've now got a total of 9 months in Thailand on your 6-month visa.

    4. Once this entry expires, you can still do the 3x30-day visa "exception" thing, which takes you to 12 months. Repeat and rinse.

    Is it really that simple?
