You need 3 full tax years (1 Jan to 31 Dec) to qualify for both citizenship (with a Thai spouse) and PR, assuming you make the other qualifications.  PR has a specific application time which is announced annually and usually runs till the year end but I think you can apply at the end of your third year and submit tax return in the New Year. Citizenship is open for application any time. So you can apply after submitting your tax return for the 3rd year.  So, if you keep working continuously you will make the the 3 year qualification end 2024. For more info on PR see the AN Camerata PR thread.

    Thanks for the precise answer!

7/11 is owned by CP ALL.  CP ALL is owned by the Chearavanont family.  No connection with the current senate or the military, AFAIK.

With all respect, I think you are naive to think that CP doesn't have any connections with the government/military elites. CP controls whole swaths of the economy, even the environmental policy is impacted by CP

    No.

If you are married, the threshold is 40,000 baht monthly and you will be assessed on that.

There is a point structure those married to Thai ladies -

    40,000 thb to 50,000 thb = 15 points

    50,001 to 60,000 = 20 points

    60,001 to 70,000 = 25 points

The above is for Thai citizenship applications for those married to a Thai lady.

    Hi,

May I know the point structure, for the salary part, please. When not married

    Thanks in advance :)

Once married (Thai Lady) you need to wait for 3 yrs from the date you get your Marriage Certificate,

1 year wait if have a child together

However, 3 yrs of tax payments still required (PND 91) Company balance sheets, company tax records etc.

If you do not wish to get married or marry your own nationality, then PR will be your choice ahead.

Do remember if unmarried the minimum salary you earn has to be THB 80,000/- a month, half if married to Thai.

Cost of PR = THB 200,000/- if unmarried or married to Non Thai

Cost of Thai citizenship = THB 5100/-

If married for 2 years, that means half 80,000 required for two years and 80,000 required for 1 year, correct?

So you are telling me that everyone in the USA gets paid the same, gets the same number of days annual holiday, the same social benefits and has exactly the same contract of employment.

    Yes, that I didn't know.

States in the US are part of the same country with the same passport, same currency, same official language, etc.

Countries in Europe don't even share the same labour law. Some countries in Europe don't even use the Euro currency.

It's easy to understand. Come on. You want to continue into comparison. I leave it here. Just go in Wikipedia it's free ????

    Irrelevant,

Texans are citizens of the USA and spend USD

Germans are citizens of the of the European Union and spend Euro.

Canadians and Brits are out of it.

Well, in case you didn't know, each countries have different salaries, labour laws, holiday per year, social welfare, etc ...

A Iirish will get 2-3 times higher salary than a Portuguese.

A French will get much more holiday than a Belgian.

So basically, this 'survey' compares irrelevant economy system.

How can you compare someone who gets 950€ per month to someone who gets 2300€ and make an average of it. It's not rocket science

As for Germany, you can make your own deduction.
