  1. From a reputable *1st World* source (the British Medical Journal):

    https://www.bmj.com/content/372/bmj.n432

"Should the public be wearing masks outdoors?

“Transmission in outdoor settings where people are distanced is likely to still be very low risk. However, it remains the case that if people are in close proximity for extended periods in an outdoor setting, there is a potential risk of transmission from the higher concentrations of respiratory particles near to an infected person. It is possible that this close range risk is greater with the B.1.1.7 variant (low confidence).”

Paranoia and mask rage increases your heart attack risk ????

  2. 1/ The risk of death from COVID is 2-4%, depending on age group.

    Source?

2/ The risk of long-term health effects from COVID infection is about 30%

    Source?

3/ The risk of death from vaccination is about 0.0006% according to European data.

Do you mean these new vaccines under emergency approval?

4/ The Chinese and Russian governments are actively spreading misinformation about Western vaccines.

    LOL

5/There are malign and deluded idiots everywhere who believe vaccines are the work of Satan, or an attempt to inject everyone with nanochips.

    Maybe

If you believe all of the above you should listen to your gf more ????

Only six under 19s with no underlying conditions died from Covid-19 in England"

Does this mean that: COVID has now dispersed far and wide throughout the country;  there are now longer defined risk groups that can be targeted for testing, i.e.Thonglor pub workers,  Burmese shrimp peelers etc; people who are worried and maybe already sick but not yet struggling for breath have stopped coming forward for tests because they 1)  they don't wish to be incarcerated; 2) they can't get information about where to go for testing, what it costs etc, as call centres are non-functional and many hospitals pretend they have run out of test kits?

From family living or working in Wangnamkhiaow, Korat, and in Muang Samsip, Ubon, there are 100 plus cases in those districts but hospitals are not yet overwhelmed.

Thailand is at the stage Western countries were in a year ago March (2020 to be exact):

    Total Mass Panic.

After you've spent a year asking everyone you meet, "do you personally know anyone who's been hospitalised with covid?"  and they all say 'no' (as is the case for me) you'll realise something is amiss - if you haven't already ????

If the government was deeply concerned about your health AND willing to use authoritarian power 'for the greater good', then the war would be on sugar, syrups, tobacco, alcohol, trans fats, highly processed foods, etc.

And there would be exercise mandates.

    ????‍♂️

    Science isn't a democracy.

Science used to mean continually asking questions and testing theories in the pursuit of truth.  Now it means accepting a narrative from a central authority and ignoring any dissenting thoughts.

As with all financial crises, the elites will usually be just fine (maybe losing a percentage of their portfolio) and it's the little people that'll lose their nest egg, pension or savings.

    Agreed.

If persisted in, these government reactions to 'covid' will trigger a massive reset (aka The Great Reset) and it will have a much more significant impact on everyone's lives than a virus with a 99+% survival rate.

Respect for spotting that Ben ????.  b ut I fear you're wasting your time on the kool aid fans

One of the only good things about covid it shows who can think and who can't.

Many are, and will struggle with cognitive dissonance of realising that what they believe just isn't so.   It's like another version of "Yeah but my girl's different" ????

"First it only affected the poor.  But I wasn't poor so I supported lockdowns....."

Yes, investing in anything right now is extremely risky. But big risks can also be big opportunities.

Thai property is only going one way for the foreseeable????

If anyone can give any reason/s as to why they would go up in the short term please feel free to enlighten me.

As the economy is 10-20% is tourism based and another substantial part is based on manufacturing (baht is still way high) Thailand has a wake up call on the way.

Pu Yais will weather the storm but the already indebted lower and middle classes will get flushed

That's cute. Yeah, I am getting ready to do some investing coming up.

Take your time, condo prices etc there are still ridiculous for a tourist destination with no tourists .  Maybe just invest in some popcorn for the time being ????

Yeah, gonna be a lot more of these little dances.

There will be a lot of girls dancing to try to get out of debt.

Great reset - won't re-open until the reset comes or the people rampage.

As in UK, the fact that fatalities are negligible does not matter.

Flatten the economy, buy up for peanuts & '6uild 6ack 6etter' as all western politicians keep reminding us.

May as well dance in the meantime eh?

    All is relative.

Be real. 3 million out of 7.5 billion have no real impact in this world accept personal tragedies of course .

I mean in direct comparison to the impact of the measures taken to deal with this crisis. It is tried to fight one evil with another. A solution can only be a compromise. The middle path. So far in 1.5 years no real progress has been made. The death rate is constantly raising as claimed by the "non deniers" and the global economy lies in shambles.

Failure in any respect. Obviously time for a new approach. Think out of the box.

If you really do not want to die by this virus eat poison or shoot yourself. Problem obviously effectively solved but...

I can not heal this world, I do not try to heal this world and I do not want to heal this world but rather advocate the opinion that this planet would be better off without humankind. Humankind has proven in this "crisis" that it is unable to cope with a global problem and hence will eventually be doomed. With or without this virus.

He's trolling you.  Just ignore him.

If you float over his name there is an ignore option ????

There seems to be a direct correlation between life's champion who live in Pattaya and covid denial.

The amount of overweight 60 something men I know who have died from Covid is fairly high in my home country. The common theme in all of them was denial.

I am puzzled by these figures. I have never met anybody who has had the virus. All I get is "you cannot go to any Big C because a (one) customer who tested positive had visited Big C Mae Hia (17 km away), or you cannot go to the market because "I heard that somebody in the neighbouring village has been taken to hospital". There is so much misinformation circulating that I suspect people with their own agenda stand to profit.

All the locals in my moban are keeping indoors as much as possible, mask wearing is 100%.  The usual group of gamblers and drinkers continue to meet discreetly in the back shop. There have been only two deaths so far this year neither Covid related.

As I said, none of my wife's extended family nor acquaintances have contracted the virus nor known anybody who has.

Mentally prepare for the lockdowns.  They get tough after a few months ????

With such a large fine, the order ought to be more refined: e.g.

    When eating/drinking can it be removed completely, or only dropped at each mouthful;

    Perhaps children under two should be exempted;

    (Posted earlier:) What constitutes correct wearing;

The more well defined the law, the smaller the opportunity to bring in revenue.

It's only fair that the RTP are given a chance to make up for lost opportunities due to closures and curfews etc.

In Chiangmai and its suburbs land development continues.  Mostly housing estates ( and mostly lower end ...2 to 3 million baht) .    2 story boxes built on less than 60 talang wah.

Land, building companies, materials, all proceeding .   Another mini bangkok in the making.

Somehow the money keeps flowing,  up to the rich and connected.   As it always does.

Those "on the brink"  still can manage to live in small rooms or in numbers.

I think that here as in the West,  rebellion is only acted out by a very very small minority.

Most realize they will not succeed,  and those willing to sacrifice are miniscule.

Facebook has replaced religion as the opium of the people.   If i could draw a cartoon,

it would be millions of overweight people lounging on their butts scrolling with one hand and sticking greasy food and soft drinks into their mouths with the other.  The title would be called  "modern day bliss"

You're probably right  but they were building right into the the 97 crisis too.

Makes sense for the builders: build & get payed with borrowed money before the 2nd shoe drops.

As in England, everyone expects this to pass 'in a few months'.

'In a few months everything will be back to normal' is the wisdom.

I predict it won't be back to normal anytime soon in which case banks can give 'mortgage / loan holidays' until they can't.

Then the Government could act to protect the banks at the risk of the currency.

Interestingly there are noises out of Thailand (and UK) about *official* crypto currencies where citizens will have an account direct with the (Government) central bank.

If/when that's in place it's game over (social credit scores and energy allowances etc).
