What you are saying about poorer people not having access to better vaccines isn’t completely true.

In the main those over sixty receive the AstraZeneca.

I received mine last week along with my wife’s uncle and he certainly isn’t wealthy.

On that day I was the only non Thai out of about 200 people most of whom arrived on foot, by bicycle or motorbike again hardly wealthy.

I wrote and its Sinovac...  a short sentence.   I said nothing  about wealth or poor.  You wrote a book compared to my one sentence.   Where did I discuss rich or poor?

From watching recent overseas news reports, the Sinovac vaccine appears to have no efficacy against the Deltra strain of COVID.  That is, Sinovac appears to be useless against the Delta variant.

And this Delta variant is set to become the dominant strain.  It has the ability to attach to lung tissue much easier than other strains.

In a small room, other COVID strains infect on average two other people, but the Delta variant will infect six.

Countries that had achieved near 100% vaccination of their population with Sinovac are now falling ill and people dying from the new Delta variant.

Thankfully, Astra Zeneca is proving effective against it as well as other better COVID vaccines.

I truly feel for the Thai people, especially the poorer classes of people who have no other choice but to take Sinovac.  Whereas, the elite and wealthier classes of people can opt for the better vaccines.  Seems very unfair. Money talks. The poor suffer and die.

The saving grace is that at least those with Sinovac vaccination can later get a booster shot with an alternative vaccine.

The problem is, by the time Thailand receives the Moderna or other vaccine alternatives to Sinovac, it will be too late.

And its Sinovac that was used in Phuket and they are opening Phuket!

Headline states Thailand buys 5 million Moderna, which is a bs headline as they have not actually purchased just talking about, that’s why Thailand is a mess and their vaccination program is a disaster???????????? All talk no action, no longer the Land of Smiles, more like Land of False Promise????????????

Maybe they want it for free?  How in keeping with the usual!

  5. Its is a little faster than the previous Variations.  None the less iys obviousthat it will spread and come full cirlcle same as the others.  I said two weeks ago that this will happen,  but I think it will happen faster than the predictions now as its a more serious variation and spreads faster.  I say by the end of July as the sandbox will perpetuate it much faster than when it was attempted to keep the virus out.

  6. All of this with vacine shortage,  and lack of equal vaccination of whos here.  The numbers are still rising (whats reported) and the Delta strain is heree.  Many have had only one dose, which as far as Delta strain goes is like not having any dose.  No way it can work without a compatible vaccine against the nee strain and people getting two doses of it, and the proper time elapsed for it to be effective.  Its just not going to work on Thai time!

  7. Thats smart, smart, smart, attack and take the life of the one that didnt pay the note.  Take his life rather than hold him accountable a number of other ways.  If you default  or defraud a loan you go to jail, you take a life you go to jail.  Possibly  same prison sentence  lenght.  Maybe his method was short sighted  and implemented  by a limited mind.

That's pretty amusing... you, having a conversation...with YOURSELF LOL!  I'm glad that the two of you were able to agree with each other.  I can't imagine what it would have been like if you and the other you had disagreed, and then the two of you had ended up getting into a nasty argument with each other.  Now that would really have been entertaining!

No offense intended, just having a little fun with you, since I'm not entirely sure if you realized you were responding to your own post ????

Probably not.  No not offended.  It is funny.  I'm laughing  myself.

I’m not sure what this has to do with my question.

Again, should people that pay taxes be entitled to vaccinations before people that do not pay taxes?

No because at one time or another  all pay taxes, therefore they are tax payers and should all be included.  So if Americans  are being vaccinated  at home they  should equally be abroad, as the only difference  is geo location.  Its the same thing as not being represented.  Why was there a revolt from the American  colonies in the 1700s?  Because  they paid their dues, but were not being treted equally  abroad.   Taxation without representation.   Now here we have Americans  abroad not being treated the same as our Citizens at home when it comes to the war on Covid.  Its the same thing

No optimism,  its saying they are donating the vaccine to countries, and the countries are expected, not that they will, to include the citizens of the donating country equally to receive  the vaccine.  This already is not happening. as many of us are searching for sources to be included  in the roll out, often being told to pay, which I am willing to pay, but quicly the allocation of vaccines  for local non locals runs out extremely fast; however the local nationals still are signing up and not being turned away.  The email say its citizens  will get the vaccine with the local nationals  which is lip service because  we know its already not happening

Exactly..  just like at the end of my Soi in Pattaya they just put up an Awning  and in Thai it reads that tgey will be giving vaccines on the 28th Of June.  But if I hadnt posted it here, or you haven't rode by the sign, and if you dont read Thai you wouldnt know that they are going to give out the vaccine  that day.  I have one Thai tell me no not vaccine they will give out food is what sign say.  So does it mske sense that they will give out food one day only, or that they will possibly  be vaccinating on that day.  If you arent Thai you arent told and you arent informed.

So is it is also your position that the 47% of Americans that do not pay federal income tax should be in line for their vaccinations after you?

Pensioners and retirees once paid taxes,  so to say they are not tax payers is inaccurate.   Once a member always a member.  They deserve  the same representation  as a person who currently  pays tas, as one day the current  tax payer will also be a retiree.   Just because  someone  retires doesnt mean they arent a tax payer.  Your logic is flawed.

Below is taken from above link

    Citizens Residing Outside the U.S.

What is a voting residence and why is it important?

You need a voting residence to vote by absentee ballot — even if you are only voting for federal offices. Your election office needs your exact voting residence address to determine which offices and candidates you are eligible to vote for — and to send you the appropriate ballot for your voting precinct.

Your voting residence is your address in the state in which you were last domiciled, immediately prior to leaving the United States.

This residence may remain valid even if:

    • You no longer own property or have other ties to that state.
    • Your intent to return to that state is uncertain.
    • Your previous address is no longer a recognized residential address.

Voting in an election for federal offices often may not be used as the sole basis of determining residency for the purpose of imposing state and local taxes.

If you cannot remember the address where you last physically resided, check old tax records, passports, or family correspondence. Sometimes election offices can help identify your address if you were previously registered.

To claim a new legal residence or domicile, consult legal counsel as there may be other factors to consider, such as tax implications.

*** I have voted in every primary and regular state and federal election since I was able to vote. I have been to (visited) several Senators and Congressmen offices and utilised their services over the years.  One of my Senators and Congressmen know me and send me emails on what they are doing to help my state or asking for my support  or vote  and if I will ask my friends/ relatives back home if they will support their cause. They know I reside in Thailand as I informed them when I left but we keep in touch.

I have legal residency in our home land.  Once again not vaccinating its citizens and vaccinating its Embassy by analogous relation is the same as and equating to taxation without representation.   I pay US taxes, and I vote.

80 million doses by end of June, not 50 million.  Also, I think you are missing what was "written between the lines" of that recent email from the Embassy.  I suggest you re-read it and consider what the real meaning of that email really was becuase it actually gives cause for some optimism about the current plight of American expats here in Thailand, not pessimism.  Diplomatic missions like an embassy often have to say things in round-about ways.
