  1. Hello,

a friend is looking for a place for her dement father. She asked me if Thailand is a good place. Of course it depends ...

For further research: is there a list or an overview of offers for caring homes? Places like McKean or Vivobene or smaller ones I know in Chiang Mai.

    Thank you for you help.

    Stefan

  2. Hi Henrik,

going to a Decathlon Shop n Bangkok or Chiang Mail and sending the item to Nan seems to be a great idea. But no support there. You have to put your bike together yourself if it is not a foldable.

Here is a list of bicycle shops in Nan: https://bicyclethailand.com/bicycle-shops-in-nan-province-thailand/

The advantage if you buy there: They might be interested to buy the used bike.

Not sure if they would rent out.

Renting the right car: I drive a Honda Jazz. The back-seats can be dropped. So my bikes fit in there even without taking out the front wheel.

Enjoy exploring the area with a bike. I think it is one of the best ways to do.

    Cheers

    Stefan

  3. I have heard this story that twins were killed because they are a reborn lovers who could not come together in their lives before in the 80s.

Nowadays Akhas seems to be much more modern. A friend of mine has twins and no problem with it.

Why do you want to know?

    Cheers

  4. I did a bike ride in this area last month. Gorgeous. Saw lots of motorbikes as well.

The article is in German but easy to translate with GoogleTranslate or DeepL

I found places to stay at reasonable prices except on Doi Lang Ka which is a very touristic spot in high season now.

I saw a covid check-point only once and without anyone checking.

    Enjoy

You could buy a solar pump. Edit; If you have a car you could by an inverter to run a small pump while you shower.

I love the idea with the car. Should I build a car park beside the bathroom or the tanks?

We have a solar pump to fill the tanks.

Do you mean you have no electricity at all or just to the tank ?

It is the garden. That means far away from public power line. We have a solar cell pump that pumps the water from the well up into the tanks (500 l for taps and 2500 l for flowers). No battery.

Situation may change in 1 oder 2 years.

Slowly fill the black rubbish bin with low water pressure. Take dipper or other receptacle, fill from the black rubbish bin. Raise the receptacle or dipper above the head, invert. Enjoy Thai shower. problem solved.

Of course we have the thai shower available too ????

  9. Hello,

just finished our garden house. We have a tank app. 2 m above the taps in the bathroom (on one side of the house) and the outdoor kitchen (on the other side). Water pressure in bathroom is okay, kitchen sink not at all. Taps at the same height. But the pipe to the kitchen is approx. 8 m longer.

Could that be the reason why the pressure is so low? Or do I have to cut and renew (or at least check) the pipe to the kitchen tap?

    Thanks for any advice

    Stefan
