do you have links to confirm that ?

No. I edited my post accordingly.

This error occurred when you repeatedly hit the back button.

With all these drop-down menus not opening,  there must have been many people hitting "back" in desperation.  Hard to imagine nobody would stumble over someone else's data.

The thailandintervac.com server seems to be temporarily shutdown, which includes all of its websites.

Perhaps because Richard Barrows broadcast the backspace security error to the entire world. He should have reported it to the CSSC directly.

It will likely return after fixing the bug. Interestingly, the Thailandintervac.com domain was only registered on May 19 2021. The CSSC was likely given little time to prepare.

The error was known. Not just since yesterday. It was so obvious, many people must have stumbled over it.

    Just nobody broadcast it.

I suspect it maybe was known to CSSC, too.

You quoted the Singapore Government as saying "its for poor countries who can't affod better" - it seems to be that is your personal opinion that you casually apply to the government of Singapore which I think is unethical and will lead to people further avoid Sinovac rather than getting what is available now and pushing Thailand towards hed immunity with whatever vaccine is available with now which in reality is SV and AZ in this country regardless of what we both would prefer.

As I said that's what the Singapore government said, just in a bit more diplomatic language. Like "poor" they probably said "middle and low income countries", blabla.

Sorry,  you have to read the news yourself,  i cannot do it for you.

Any chance to get AstraZeneca if over 60?

your claims about what the Singapore Government has purportedly said seem pretty far-fetched - care to substantiate them? My understanding was that they wanted to provide an alternative for people who are allergic to mRNA vaccines or unduly worried for other reasons?

People who are allergic can choose Sinovac and will get it reimbursed by the goverment.  Others can get it and pay out of pocket.

Reasoning (why not included in the government program even WHO approved it): WHO approved it to help poorer countries,  Singapore wants better.

Not far fetched at all, you just have to follow local and Asian

news. They write a lot about Sinovac and others,  e.g. FDA of the Philippines (because they use many different vaccines)

I don't have the link anymore, sorry,  maybe 5 days ago, maybe SCMP.

Me haven't heard anything about getting the vaccine either ..so I suppose I won't get arrested just yet

    They say vaccination is compulsory.

They don't say where or how to register.

Should I just turn up at the circuit without appointment?

    Would they inoculate me?

What vaccine do they use anyway?

OMG, well that would be evidence.

    Try it.

It's a feature of thaiintervac. Even computer illiterates like me know how to use it. Just hit the back button many times.

You can make new friends that way.

You will know complete name,  date of birth,  address, phone number, passport number.  I called one, he is a nice guy.

"Major data breach at Thai vaccination website https://thailandintervac.com/

You can see and alter the details of the person who used it previously. Data includes full name, address, passport and phone numbers".

And date of birth, and email.

This feature has been well known for at least 3 or 4 days.

I am a computer illiterate, but even i knew it. Easy to use.

How is coronavac substandard? It provides excellent protection against serious illness and death.

    Yes, i hope so too.

The problem is, you really have to believe Beijing.

The only advanced countries using Sinovac are HK (for obvious reasons) and Singapore. The Singapore government doesn't use it,  but they allow private doctors to use it. The Singapore goverment said,  its a vaccine for poor countries who can't afford better.  But if Chinese nationalists  want it we don't object.

Sinovac will cover me beyond fall so I won't be in a hurry and by then we will already know if mixing vaccines will work. This is exactly what the multivalent phase III trials are aimed for and these shots will be different than the ones ordered now for primary vaccination. Nature Magazine just published a study that showed mixing vaccines triggers a "potent immunse response" so we should be good..  One step at a time for me.

Are there any studies that you have heard of  mixing Sinovac and mRNA?

Up to now it was vector-based vaccine,  followed by mRNA. That seems to work very well.

So, does that "old stuff" provide even a single case of an individual in Thailand catching rabies from a rat bite? If not, I suggest you stop raising unnecessary fears without a single shred of scientific evidence.

The bitten person in the second quoted article obviously got vaccinated.  No doctor will not vaccinate a person bitten by a rat infected with rabies.

The articles just show that infected rats do exist in Thailand.

    Whatever the CDC writes.

I am not raising unnecessary fears,  there is nothing to fear.  Just get a rabies shot.

Exactly what I will be doing to - seems like the best strategy for now! I also think Sinovac has a bit of a bad rap because of the reported 51% efficacy due to the brazil phase III trial - other studies in Chile and Indonesia show much better results and given its based on inactivated virus particles its also tried and tested technology and should provide reasonable overall protection until multivalent Booster shots become available in the fall that cover mutations etc....

But you just wrote one cannot rely on Moderna in fall.

(4m doses ordered for 2021, that's for 2m persons. According to PBS from  yesterday, 5m want it)

Plus : nobody knows whether a mRNA booster after Sinovac is ok (it probably is,  but there are no studies). You probably should wait 6 months,  so 6 months you are only protected by a substandard vaccine.

In a city with 1500 daily cases. (Payuth said today,  some restrictions in Bangkok will be lifted, so I don't think cases will go down)

    According to the CDC

That would suggest that a rabies jab is completely unnecessary.

    CDC is in the US.

The bitten person and his rat are in Thailand.

    Some old stuff:

In the past, Srisongmuang et al. (1994) studied rabies carriers in rodents in Bangkok and adjacent areas and found 1% rabies positive in rat (4/384), 0 % in squirrel (0/52) and 20% in tree shrew (2/10). The report also referred to two studies by Puangsab and Lawhasawat who found 15% and 13% of rats positive to rabies in rats trapped from Chieng Mai and all over the country in 1964 and 1977 respectively. Other reports cited by Srisongmuang et al. included studies by Smith et al. (1968) who found 4% positive rabies in rodents and Sajaotz (1968) who found 8% rabies positive in rats in eastern part of Thailand. In contrast Sawasdikosol (1976) (cited in Srisongmuang et al., 1994). found no rabies in rodents from 3 provinces in the western and southern part of Thailand (Srisongmuang et al., 1994). In 1997 Kamoltham et al. (1997) studied a carrier status in dog, Hipposiderous bicolar bats and house rats in Petchaboon and found no rabies positive case.

Another article, not quite so old, from 2006: rabies in rats in Petchabun

That's true but there is every reason to believe the order will go through and could be available as early as August.  Not sure where you are located, but in Pattaya, the Pattaya Memorial Hospital is one of the private hospitals that is designated to dispense the Moderna vaccine.

I was able to register very easily by emailing them at [email protected].  If you do register with them, I suggest you call them on the phone first.  I did this and had no problem registering.  Others who just tried to do it without first calling seem to not receive confirmations for some reason.

The order of 10 million does (4 million in first lot) is being ordered by the Private Hospital Association of Thailand through the Thai Government's Procurement Office, and it is on behalf of 200 private hospitals in Thailand.  I'm guessing a complete list of those hospitals will be announced by the PHA soon, if it is not already available.

Warning: do not rely on Moderna.

4m doses this year. That's for 2m people.

PBS yesterday: 5m people want it already.

Price 3800 including everything,  every Thai can pay this.

So it will be the same game as Thailandintervac.com: cannot register,  cancellations, Thais first, whatever.

But not a jab for everybody.

I think there is a difference between a Thai person calling me "farang" as an insult, and using the word "farang" as a generic term for foreigners.

What word do you think Thai people should use when talking about non-Thais? Should they not be allowed to have a word in case you get offended?

The word all Thais I know use is "khon tangchart" which translates as "foreigner".

Ok, some nurses in places like Pattaya and Phuket use "farang". And it's obvious where this comes from.

a similar story with AZ from the last year. For the first shot half of recommended dose appeared more effective.

And now they are stretching gap from 2 weeks to 4 months.

Might be something in it. Lower dose and longer gap might give less undesired side effects

After reading the published phase III studies of Moderna and Pfizer,  some people asked "Why didn't they test lower doses?" Because the results looked like lower doses would be good enough.

Of course, that would have cost time.

The numbers of participants here are very low.

And neutralizing antibodies might not be that relevant.

New phase III studies would be necessary.

I logged in via this "logout" link to check on my booking; just to make sure that my 22 June appointment is still there. Yes, it's still on for 22 June at 2:00 pm but I noticed that I now have a different Service Queue number. Anyone has any idea why that is so? Which printout should I bring along on that day - the earlier appointment printout or the current one? I think I will bring both, just to be on the safe side.

Every print-out will give you a higher queue number.

    The appointment will not change.

    I would bring all print-outs.
