My son has spent a year in boarding school overseas. Unfortunately he managed to get scabies. He's had several treatment's already but seems like he can't get rid of the stuff. He's done all the right things every time he's been treated, like washing all his clothes at 60°c
Unfortunately it keeps coming back and now we're in doubt if it's actually scabies.
Any recommendations on a good dermatologist somewhere in Bangkok. We're located in Samut Phrakan but are willing to go anywhere as long as it's a good dermatologist.

My 15 year old son is supposed to move to DK to start boarding school at the beginning of the next term (August)
Because of the present Covid situation and quarantine, my wife is not keen at joining him. I am at work elsewhere at the moment but my plan is that on my next leave from work I'll meet him in Dk.
Will there be any problems involved in letting him go on his own? I am thinking in regards to Thai immigration. He holds dual citizenship so he is traveling with 2 passports, showing his Thai passport in Bangkok and his Danish passport on arrival in DK. He is used to travel interstate by plane so I am not worried about the trip itself.

Thanks for the advice. We ended up leaving the vehicle with one of the car wash shops. After making a couple of enquires where the price was approximately the same we decided on a shop.
I'm excited to see if they managed when I pick up the car this arvo since there was literally tar everywhere and bitumen road on the fenders.

What type of visa/extension do you have? I had assumed you wanted to extend a tourist visa or 30 day waiver.
If that is not the case then my previous advice to check in to a hotel is wrong.
I am on visa exempt since I normally work 8 weeks on 4 weeks off. So I rarely stay more than 4 weeks. But I am still obliged or rather my wife is to register with immigration that I am staying at our property. Only difference this time is that we are going away so I wont be sleeping at home but at a hotel. But I can imagine though that the immigration will give me a bollocking when showing up a week and a half late after arriving.

When I arrive Bkk from overseas next week I'll go home and pick up the wife and son and fly north in the afternoon. Normally I'll arrive from work on a friday and wait till the following Monday before seeing immigration concerning TM 30.
This time I'll be arriving mid week but going away same day. Question is, do I need to do anything? Since we'll be away for about a week and staying in a hotel I guess the hotel will do the TM 30 registering and then when I get back home to BKK I'll see immigration?

Does anybody know anything about Chiang Rai International School, good or bad. Been up to Chiang Rai and had a look at the school and first impression was that it looked good. But always difficult to say whether tuition is good or not. They follow the American curriculum. My son is at the moment at an English school following English curriculum but don't think the change should be to hard.

Regards certificate of residence.
I have at present moment a bank account with Bangkok bank. I've had it for years but would like to get access to online banking. My problem is since I work overseas and don't have working permit they don't wanna let me have online banking. After discussing the matter with them recently they agreed to look into it if I could get a stamp and a signature from my embassy (Danish) Unfortunately my embassy don't deal with these matters anymore. They don't mind verifying my passport but don't want to verify my Thai address. ( I own a condo in Bangkok with my Thai wife)
So yesterday me and my wife naively went to immigration Samut Prakan thinking that with the condo deed in the hand it would be piece of cake to get a certificate of residence. But was I wrong! Oh my God I was almost given a bullucking and told that I was just a tourist. I've got non o 1 year multiple entry.
Is there any way around or do I just have to accept that there is no way for me to either get online banking with Bangkok Bank or open an account with another bank???
Sorry for piggybacking the topic

You apply by 11:30 the morning of one day and pick up your passport with the visa in it the next afternoon.
Where are you living while you here?
It is possible to spend only one night in Savannakhet if you travel on a overnight bus to Mukdahan.
Two nights if you use a fly/ride service to Mukdahan via nearby airports. Nok Air's schedule is here: https://nokair.com/content/en/destinations/fly-n-ride/Ubon-Ratchathani-mukdahan.aspx You need to arrive at the bridge by 6 pm in order to cross over to Savannakhet since that is when the Lao visa on arrival offices officialy closes.
I'm in Bangkok.
Was thinking of Penang as an option as well (since I'm more familiar with Penang) Financial proof is not a problem since I'm working and have a steady income. As far as I am aware I don't need to have a certain amount sitting in a Thai bank account???

Hmm you are probably right. It's just that I'm trying to spend my valuable time at home with the family since I'm already spending 5 days traveling to and from work out of the 28 days off.
So a trip to Savanakhet including visa application can be done in a couple of days???

I'm working 8 weeks on and 4 off. The 4 weeks spent in Thailand with Thai wife and son. Due to logistics it's not very easy for me to get the time to get visa organised. After reading on tv forum I'm getting a bit worried if I'm going to get in troubles next time when I arrive. Next time arriving will be fifth time this year on visa exempt......

Is it possible to apply for a Non-O 1year visa based on marriage after entering Thailand on 30days exempt visa without having to leave the country? My problem is that I am working at a remote area where mailing is very unreliable and no Thai embassy. So I would rather enter the kingdom and then apply for a 1 year Non-O if possible.

Hi all,
I'm a rather frustrated dad who don't know what to do or where to go and get help. I think my 10 year old son is having an attention disorder of some kind but don't know where in Thailand to go and get help. We live in Bangkok but I wouldn't trust the usual hospital we go to. Would be be happy if someone could suggest someone with proper expertise in these matters.

For sure! No paint but new trim. I World end up being one of these difficult farangs if this happened to me. Anyway new trim can't be that expensive.

I'm 6ft tall as well and bought the new Pjs recently. I don't have any problems fitting in. Actually it has a lot more options for adjustment than previous model. Only thing is the elevated panel on left leg side. But didn't take me long time to get used to.
-
May seem like a silly question but what do you guys do to secure your spare tire. I'm having a hard time to find somewhere to buy a spare tire lock for the Pjs. And I don't wanna go Thai style and leave it at home.
-
If you're paying cash and not to fussy about the colour then there is always a good chance of fast delivery since there's usually somebody who doesn't get approval by finance... That's how we got our Mitsu within a fortnight and I guess the same conditions apply to Ford and all the other brands.

IMHO
I'm sure you guys driving the Ford Everest got the best car possible for the price. I just couldn't afford or wouldn't spend 1,7mill baht so I just took delivery of my (or rather the missus) new Pjs top spec the other day. So far we're really happy about it. It's a big step up from our old 2010 model.
And now to the question. I remember that you in a previous thread mentioned something about a really good quality window tint?? We got the car installed with the standard Lamina from Mitsubishi but don't think it's the best you can get.
-
Surprised to hear about the poor handling of the new Pjs. Is the info based on personal experience or what?
I've booked one and personal found it a lot smoother than the old model. Looked at the x-trail as well but learned that it only has airbags at front seats so it quickly went out of the equation.....

IMHO
I was looking at Subaru xv, Nissan X-trail and Mazda CX-5. Don't remember mentioning the Everest in that connection .
I made my booking before the 1st of January so am getting it at last years price. Still quite a bit cheaper than the Titanium+ or I would have had to settle for the cheaper Tittanium (doesn't even come with rear cam) and that's where I thought I'd get more value for my hard earned money ;-)
-
I was looking at Subaru xv, Nissan X-trail and Mazda CX-5 as well but ended up ordering Mitsubishi pajero sport since it looks like the best bet safety wise. 7 airbags etc. Didn't really like the rear end of the car. Actually preferred the Ford Everest but just feel that I get more value for my bugs buying the mpj. Don't wanna spend 1,7 mill. So that's why I ended up on the mitsu..........
-
Still undecided whether going to buy the Everest or the Pjs. Did anybody buy or just test drive the Pjs. Looking at various Aussie auto websites seems like its getting pretty good reviews. Even though I don't really like the rear of the Pjs I can probably get used to it :-D
-
IMHO! I wrote in a different thread yesterday wether I should buy a Subaru or Ford Everest. Think we'll end up with the Everest since it has more space. That said the Subaru Xv is nice too though. Anyway Ford gave us an offer on our 5 yo Pajero Sport with 130,000 on the clock. They called us and told us we could get 460,000 but later called us back and said they found a different tent that would give 550,000 but only if we decide right here right now:-) plus they would give a 30,000 baht discount on the Everest. Question, what is a realistic price we can get for the Pjs?

Thanks Sheryl,
He has tried permethrin 5% several times. And both me and my wife has done a treatments too, just to make sure we got rid of everything. Wife and me haven't had any symptoms at all, so now we started speculating if it could be something else.
We'll follow your advice and see one of the doctors you recommend.
