Looking for an orthodontist for 19 year old girl needing braces (or whatever these newer string-type contraptions are called), anyone have a reasonably priced good one to recommend? Thanks
Hi there.
I am now on orthodontic treatment with Dentist@51 in Thonglor area (along Sukhumvit). Price is reasonable at Bt45,000 (for metal braces) with flexible terms of payment. Dentist is Dr. June - fine young dentist who can speak good English. You can call them or check their website.
Hope this helps.

The Dude can help out on this one as his gf digs the hobby with more than one shovel. She is a mass producer of these crochet dolls. She digs a shop on Asok Blvd. Coming out of Asok sky train station, exit on the even numbered soi side of sukhumvit closest to Asok Rd. Take a right at Asok Rd from Sukhumvit and there is a great shop with massive supplies on the right side about 5 store fronts down or so. The Dude's gf is wild about this store and The Dude himself has been in and can dig that they carry a huge supply of excusively yarns and crochet products. Go there and dig it
i surely will! thanks dude.

Hi,
I got a workpermit in April, which - as far as I understand - in principle is good for one year... Meaning that: Assumed immigration allows me to stay in Thailand the year through and assumed I keep my job, I wouldn't have to visit labor department again until that year was gone.
However, although labor department has "sort of" granted the WP for a year, it is only valid until the date defined in the "permitted-to-stay-until-stamp" given by immigration. My second one-year spouse supporting stay-allowance extension is due this week. Not concerned about that part, but after I've gotten the "under consideration" stamp, I'll have to go to labor department to get the WP updated with a related date-stamp.
My question is: what exactly do I need to bring to labor department (besides myself, my passport and my WP)?

Questions for Sunbelt:
I will apply for extension of non b and work permit for the first time next month. I believe my company was formed May this year and I guess there is no annual audit yet. Does this mean I will be denied extension? Should I plan a trip to Malaysia to get another non b -- say 90 days -- and apply for extension early next year after the audit papers are out? What happens to my work permit if I am denied extension?
Thank you.

Hello.
Does anyone know where I could buy good quality crochet and knitting yarns here in Bangkok?
Thank you.

Hello, Im going to get my non immig b visa next week, but Im not so sure which to get first the wp or non immig b? because I read somewhere that now I have to get wp first before getting non immig b. so which comes first?
when applying for non b, you need a wp3 -- a receipt from labor to confirm that your employer has already applied a work permit for you.

I am wanting to go to Penang for a tourist visa this weekend. If I fly in on saturday when is the soonest I can get the visa? I remember seeing before a name and number of a gentleman in Penang who assisted in the Visa process, anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Hi.
I think the consulate is closed on weekends. You might want to fly in Monday. Submit your application before noon and get your visa the following day. I know someone who can assist you. You can PM me for his number.

Can i get any reply on this?
My boss ask me to go to BOI one stop office and try there.
Is that necessary or I just need to wait for results?
hi. i think someone said this is the normal process (2-3 under consideration stamps) before you get the 1-yr extension. i think your papers are pending approval from the powers-that-be. you might just want to wait for the results.
if you have the proper documents filed, i don't think you will be rejected. although i could be wrong.
good luck.

The 'under consideration'-stamp is given 2-3 times, especially for new extensions.
You can travel during that period with a re-entry permit, but careful, this becomes void once you get a new 'under consideration' - stamp.
Once or twice, over the years, I was to travel and return after the under consideration; ticket in hand talked to them and got a new stamp, still under consideration with a date to fit my planned return-date. So could get re-entry permit and be back ontime.
thank you axel for this wonderful reply.
i have my ticket already and maybe i could show them the return date and have 'under consideration' stamp to fit it. and i will make sure to get a re-entry permit as well.

Even the small clinics which dot sois issue medical certificates. I got mine from one. Costs range from Bt60-Bt100. Ten minutes and you're done.

Hello THai Visa forum.
Normal, nothing to worry about.
WCA
Hi. I will go through first time extension as well. I have a bit of a problem with timing as I am going home for the holidays in December.
How many months is the normal process (stamped 'under consideration') before I get the 1-yr extension?
Many thanks.

i got my single entry non b visa and it expires nov. 8. i also have my work permit already. my next move would be to apply for extension.
some of my friends said i would probably be getting a 30-day under consideration stamp the first time. does that mean i would get 30 days on top of the 90 days (i.e. dec. 7 expiry)? or they count 30 days from the day of application?
another question - with all the new regulations implemented now, what are the chances i could get the one-year extension on my second try (before dec.7)? i am flying home on dec 22 and would like to know if i should cut short my vacation (initially intended to be until jan 14) to go to immigration and extend again.
help me please.

Hi.
My 90-day non b visa expires Nov. 8 and I already got my work permit (which also expires on the same date). Am I already okay for extension as long as I do it way before it expires?
Thanks.

Hi.
I went to Penang last August and they gave me a 3-month non b visa (with a stamp that says i have to get a work permit soon). When my friend went there two weeks ago, she was denied a non b visa because she lacked wp3.
Just make sure you have all documents ready. You'll most probably get a 3-month non b. Or try elsewhere (KL?) for multiple non b.
Good luck!

You should be able to pick up passport at 2 pm so 5 pm fight should be OK. From my understanding Air Asia is not know for on time departures (especially later in the day) at any rate. Hopefully a recent traveler can add to this.
Thanks Lop, any other recent experiences?
i got my passport before 12 noon. awful lot of time to spend in the airport for the 5:30pm flight.

Last time I took the Air Asia flight which lands 10:05 am in Penang, I almost did not make it before 12 noon at the consulate. The flight was delayed for over an hour because of system chaos in new airport.
In any case, just be prepared.
Going back to Bangkok, the flight was delayed for more than two hours. Bloody unfortunate.
