I want you to read the page when you first sign in to apply Thailand Pass, you have to click that you have read and acknowledged, understood the information provided by Thai government regarding Thailand Pass. The page is: Thailand Pass Registration System (for air travel only) (consular.go.th) Everyone has to read that page before start applying. So in this page, it clearly outlined as below: 6. For the Alternaitve Quarantine scheme: 6.1 I shall undertake two RT-PCR tests as required by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand. 6.2 I am aware that I must stay at my reserved accommodation only and shall strictly comply with all public health measures during my stay in the Alternative Quarantine for 10 days. 6.3 Should I stay in the Alternative Quarantine less than 10 days, I will not leave Alternaitve Quarantine unless for the sole purpose of travelling out of Thailand. 6.4 Once I have stayed in the Alternaitve Quarantine for more than 10 days, I am permitted to travel to other provinces in Thailand. I certify that all the information declared above is true to my knowledge and give consent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to collect my personal information in order to coordinate with the concerned agencies for the purpose of screening and facilitating my travel to Thailand. I declare that I have understood all that is stated above and shall strictly abide by them, and shall comply with the provisions under relevant Regulations issued under Section 9 of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548 (2005) and any other disease prevention measures prescribed by the Government of Thailand, acknowledging that failure of such compliance may lead to consequences and penalties under the laws and regulations of Thailand. You have signed the declaration (A VERY LEGAL DOCUMENT) that you will follow the rule before applying. You made it clear to Thailand government that once you applied AQ, you will follow the AQ procurement outlined in this agreement between you and Thailand government. You also acknowledged that failure of such compliance may lead to consequences and penalties under the laws and regulations of Thailand. So please think twice before you decide to commit AQ fraud or preaching others to do the same. It is evidently many people here do not read this page when they sign up to Thailand Pass and do not understand the meaning of fraud. And some here do not understand there is consequences even though Thailand government told you in black and white language it has consequences and penalties if you do not keep your side of bargain.

Thailand Pass is a pass that would permit you to gain entry to Thailand, so technically is a visa, is an immigration approval to gain entry. Thailand pass has category of Test and Go exemption and AQ. You have to follow each category when applying even if both require the same documents. If you got AQ and booked AQ hotels with intention to self test and go, is a fraud. I am not trying to be funny. I am just trying to point out some not so obviously fallacies here so people do not make mistakes and then end up badly. It is always prudent to follow what is black and white in front of you. Plus, would you do the same if you are applying entry to Australia or USA (just imaging they have the same 'pass')?

That is not 100% true. You forgot ESTA and got something else wrong. Here we go: 1, Apply ESTA or VISA if necessary 2, Book Flight (if you can get one as now it is fully booked for days) 3, Antigen test or PCR within 3 days before the flight (not 72 hours, it means if you flight departs on 10pm Friday, you can do test any time from Tuesday; also USA recognise rapid Antigen test, PCR is not necessary) 4, Check-in with your vaccination certificate and Covid test certificate 5, Travel and arrive US CBP won't check your vaccination certificate and Covid test again as they trust airlines to do the job. As any airlines caught not doing the job correctly will be fined. There is just not enough CBP personnel to check everyone's documents, as flights are FULL.

Warning: Those booked AQ QR code from Thailand Pass and then expect Thailand Immigration let them enter under Test and Go Exemption rule is committing a serious visa fraud. Please use it as caution and also please do not preach others to do the same. Sure, the Thailand Pass thing is messed up, and many of you can not receive the QR code as expected. But as some others here have noted, an email to the Thai consular can help. Now back to administration side of the Thailand Pass, some rules have to be remembered: 1, Being double vaccinated is the requirement to APPLY Test and Go, not a proof of entitlement. What does that mean? Put it simply, to APPLY Test and Go exemption, you must be double vaccinated. However, holding a double vaccination certificate, it does not give you automatic right to enjoy the Test and Go exemption privilege. 2, When you apply AQ, you are restricted of AQ procurement. When you apply Test and Go exemption, you are restricted to Test and Go procurement. Everything is black and white. 3, When rules are written, it is for you, for airport staff, for Thai immigration staff and hotel staff to follow. You are not supposedly to break the rule. Final words and points: 1, You will be surprised to see how bureaucratic Thai immigration officers are. They are trained to follow the rule. Don't count on it that they will all bend over to you because you had difficulties to apply the exemption. It is not their job to take pity on situation caused by faults of your own or other departments. 2, You are not special. Thai people are nice, but they absolutely hate rule breakers. They were vocal on Chinese not join the queue , they were vocal on falangs refusing wearing face masks. Your action of arriving with AQ and expected to enjoy Test and Go exemption is a complete display of western selfishness and total disrespect of local authority and rules. Hence my advice: you are a visitor to Thailand, respect their way of doing things, follow the rule. Sure, Thailand Pass is not working, the IT behind it is a shamble, it is not your fault. But committing fraud is your fault. So let us not encourage this kind of selfishness. Reapply the Thailand Pass, if not successful, ask help from your local Thai embassy. Respect Thai, respect yourself.

You just wait and see. The cultural guard will have their go at some the western cultures in disguise of Covid. Who would miss this perfect opportunity?

China is not only refuse issuing passports to its citizens, it recently outlined a new strategy to rob the rich to give to the poor. Thailand needs to pay attention to what its neighbour is doing. Because, if that strategy is successfully implemented, all Chinese would be the same rich or same poor, and guess who would have the spare cash to come to Thailand, or worse, for what purpose (my guess is illegal immigration)? Sometimes I wonder if Thai politician actually read any real newspaper or watch any real news, it appears that they often do not understand what is going on around them. Always wishful thinking, yet the whole Europeans and Americans with more money ready to travel Thailand seems do not know how to attract them. Xenophobia o what? Critical thinking is one of many skills lacking within Thai politicians.

Meanwhile, the local sharks are swimming freely and enjoy the moment that invading species are cleaned out. Maybe time to raise the interest rates?

When you see self congratulatory messages, it is always a bad sign that something did not work as expected.

Maybe expat from UAE or Singapore? Or those who has a home in Thailand but work in Europe or USA? Some of the Aussies could have taken advantage of the New Zealand bubble while it was OK to travel via New Zealand as New Zealand has no exit control?

They still did not get it. It is not an issue about where we can go after 7 days or 14 days. It is about your bloody nuisance of CoE application and the stupid 2 apps forced to install! I am happy to stay at a five stars resort for 7 days doing nothing. But the process of CoE and the 2 apps stealing my personal information is not worth it. If you want genuine tourists who are happy to be a beach whale happy staying within a resort without going outside to spend money (like the Russians they try to attract), you need to simplify the application of CoE and cancel the requirement of the 2 app. What you should do is to allow tourists come for 10 days or under to simply submit a copy of vaccination certificate and sign a document state he/she will leave within 10 days and will pay tests fees. Maybe with hotel reservation required. If you can simplify the entry requirement to that level for genuine tourists who just want a 7 to 10 days beach holiday, you may be able to attract more people. Incidentally, Phuket seek Green status for UK travel made the news here in UK. However, if Thailand does not simplify the CoE entry requirements, nobody with right mind will come (except the expat or who have families in Thailand)
