  1. Not to seem cynical, but what the hell; I am glad that these two made the necessary mistakes that it took for the Thai authorities to stumble upon their warrants. One man on overstay for 3 years? There you go! Another man arrested in a housing development; but for what? I will lay odds that had these bums not made mistakes that were grave enough to compel the authorities to dig deep, then they would not presently be detained over the warrants for their arrests.

I stated it that way, because I can not idly sit and read this, and allow the authorities to take credit for something they did not set out to do in the first place, contrary to how this article would like us to think. There is no way you can convince me that the Thai police have the time to single out requests from foreign governments and prioritize it to the top of their "to do" list, over their collecting tea money, managing their brothels and bars, and generally paying hide and seek with their duties.

Reading between the lines, it appears that these two rogues committed mistakes that got the attention of the Thai authorities from the perspective of greed, and over the course of processing these two for tea money, the police "stubbed their toes" on the arrest warrants, but only as an afterthought. No way they initially dealt with these two from the perspective the article suggests. They simply are not that organized; nor is their focus on assisting other nations.

We will see if they are actually extradited, or if they mysteriously disappear into Thailand's morning mists, due to Thailand's internationally renowned lust for for bribe money.

Cynical? Hell yes. This forum has over 300 pages of statistics to support everything I implied.

Where should the thanks go? To the computer programmers, who designed the system to contain the information that was there when some lazy bum took the time to read it and pass the info on. Also the taxpayers, who funded the system in the hopes that lazy bums would notice the information on their screens, place morals (or fear?) above greed, and pass that information on.

    EXACTLY!!!

  2. I was stood next to Jukka when he was doing this video interview and no, it's not marketing since he isn't affiliated to this skydive centre atall. Think what you like because we are just as baffled as you are and it can only be seen in slow motion so it must have been a really fast bird if that's what you think!

By the way, they are working on the concept of skydiving with no parachute but they haven't managed to grow wings big enough yet! You can always try a test jump though!

The video was taken in Au Udom.

  3. Hi All. Since ThaiVisa has been changed I haven't been able to get notified of any new topics. All I have been getting is a running message 'No valid RSS feeds have been configured.

Is there something I can do about this?

  4. You should be able to get the tax back. I had the same problem and informed the Bank that I am an expat. They just gave me a form to fill in for the Uk Tax authorities and all my tax was returned to my account once it had been processed. You need to be quick though because the Tax year starts 1 April and they only give you a certain time to claim.

  5. However, he said, Thai people and agencies believe that the crime is not that serious partially because the children gave consented.

That's why other countries see Thailand as ignoring the problem for the sake of tourism, he said.

Unbelievable! How is a child supposed to know what they are consenting to? They only know after the deed is done and then their childhood has gone already.

  6. It amazes me why they still have to remind them to come and pray five times a day anyway. Surely those who have that religious inclination should know by now that they are supposed to go and pray.

it is because prayer times shift each and every day.

well I'd hate to be an employer of one of them then. When do they get any work done?

  8. Anyone who does bungy jumping or any other activity where you voluntarily place your life in someone elses hands in Thailand has to be completely crazy anyway...

Really? I've been skydiving for the last 36 years and haven't killed anyone yet and yes, we have a skydiving operation here in Thailand too!!! You need to get out more!

  9. Well done Keithkarmann why should you have to put up with an untrained dog barking all night. We have the same problem but with many dogs around here and look forward to moving in June.Maybe you should invite joskydive around to sleep and listen to the noise. That would be justice for the ridiculous comment they made.

Unnecessary since I have 10 dogs all untrained and straight from the streets where they have all been neglected, abused, attacked and mistreated. None of them make any noise at night due to the fact that they are taken care of, fed and loved. I also have never had a complaint from a neighbour about noise or anything else for that matter.

Maybe giving the dog some attention and food would help the situation rather than having a tantrum with the neighbour who will now, maybe, have a vendetta against you.

  10. GB Liners in the UK shipped all my personal belongings over here in a container. It took two weeks to come by boat and then you have to go to customs in Bangkok where they unlock and open it in front of you and check that these are the goods you stated on the forms. I paid for door to door service and my belongings arrived at my home within a week of arrival here.

  11. Living in a country that has double pricing, 150 BHT ATM fees, poisonous cigarettes, jet ski scams, rent a noisy neighbour, obstructive potted plants, taxi touts, bogus security, King Power and all sorts of other difficulties for the Farang it's really time for me to say goodbye. I've had enough of it here, it's all stacked against Farangs and the Thais are really out to get us. They don't even speak English.

So what was the final nail in the coffin? Well, it's obvious -those dam_n pesky Thais have done it again, and they have created double temperatures. It's just not fair, here I am totally boiling, sweat profusely through my Chang wife-beater vest, and those Thai are walking around looking perfectly cool. It seems wherever I go, I'm dripping in perspiration while the Thai's look smart and orderly. I tell you, this country is going downhill fast.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Or is just me being victimized by my own personal weather system?

I am wondering why it took you 7006 posts to come up with something witty.

  12. Just put yourself in this guy's shoes for a minute.

Would you like to be told?

Also, why don't you ask your wife what she feels about this behaviour. If your wife seems to think it's ok, then, maybe you can expect some of the same in the future, if not, count yourself as lucky!
