  1. I live in issaan & find most locals like to talk to me in a limited way (language probs of course).Always be polite & friendly & they really appreciate if you are interested in them.A small knowledge of Thai (I carry a small phrasebook & dictionary that is most usful) or issaan can go a long way & if you can develop any sort of friendship your quality of life will be better, but always avoid drunks as its a total no no.Hope this is of interst & help smile.png

  2. I have a family history of prostate cancer deaths & have had 2 friends die of it,so I take the risk very seriously & have made an extensive study of possible preventative methods using natural products.

The 2 best without doubt are:-

    1. Saw pallmetto tablets.Unfortunately not easy to get in Thailand, but one of the best sellers in western countries.I get friends from the UK to bring for me when they come on holiday. All health food stores sell, but best value from mail order companies in the Channel Islands - phone or internet.

2.Lycopene - this comes from tomatoes & one of the best sources is tomato ketchup - the leading brand Heinz even has a label on the bottle about lycopene. Also tomatoe juice is a very good source.I try and eat tomatoes both cooked & uncooked in my diet every day.

I hope this helps any of you who have concerns as to what to do.If anyone wants further advice you can PM me & I will be glad to help.

Best regards & stay fit & healthy

  4. If you move from Pattaya to Issaan you will really know what the word BORING means :o I find I am going out of my mind with nothing to do after 3 to 4 weeks up here & have to get back to Pattaya/Bangkok to regain my sanity!!!

Pattaya has many faults but there are plenty of activities for expats to take part in as other posters have said.

  5. A new Tesco Lotus opened on saturday 17th feb. in Trakhan,50k north of Ubon.I went along with 100's of others. Most just curious country people who spent less than 100baht.It is only a small store but has all the things I want & is 54k's less for me to travel to Ubon as I live in Khemarat.Well done Tesco!!!

  6. Get rid of her ASAP & buy a copy of the book "Money number one " & then you will realise she does not want you only your money.

There are many lovely Thai ladies who live away from tourist areas who I am sure would treat you very well & you could build a good life with.

    I speak from experience.

    Good luck
