I flew into Vientiane this Monday and flew back to Bangkok this morning. No hassle or different procedures at Watteau.

at Suvarnabhumi it was chaos. They blocked off the bottom of the slope up to immigration and were refusing to let anyone through who had not downloaded the AOT app and completed the online T8. Luckily I had done so with a backup paper T8 and was able to get through. This was about 12.30 pm and there was about 200 being held back and about 4 or 5 between all the IO desks ie no queues ????

I'm flying in tomorrow afternoon. What's the AOT app and online T8?

  2. Thank you ubonjoe. I didn't think there was but I thought I'd check

Fritsstink thank you for this pointless information. It's not what I asked and it's incorrect. From where I live and work I can't make a visa run by flying in 1 day. <removed>

  3. Hello All

I have a work permit and a 1 year multiple entry Non B visa. My next visa run is 21st December. Is it possible to extend my current entry for 30 days at an immigration office instead of doing a visa run? I'm busy at work and don't want to take the 2 days for the visa run.

    Thanks for your answers

  4. Hello ubonjoe

Thank you for your prompt reply and relevant information.

For the extension the salary and the number of employees is not a problem. It's the company lawyers/accountants. They insist that it is not possible to get a 1 year visa. I have shown them the link you sent but they say that the information is wrong or out of date. I have asked them to prepare the paperwork so I can try anyway but they said it's a waste of time and are refusing to do it, but they are happy to prepare the paperwork for my 3 month non b visa application. It's very frustrating.

With the correct paperwork is it guaranteed to get a 1 year multiple entry in Australia? I would actually be applying at the Sydney office https://thaiconsulatesydney.org/en/visas. I am thinking about going home soon. It will be my first winter in Australia since 1995.

  5. Hello All

I am one of the many sufferers of the Penang Multiple Entry Non B Visa rule change.

For about 8 years I have been getting Multiple Entry Visa Non B visas from Penang. The paperwork has always been supplied by my employers accountant/lawyer and there has never been a problem.

I understand that at any consulate in South East Asia I will not be able to get any longer than 3 months from now on. The accountant/lawyer seems to have no clue about what to do.

Can I go back to Australia and apply for the 1 year multi entry non b visa or are they just not giving them out anywhere anymore?

What documents do I need to apply for a 1 year extension of the non-b visa at the immigration office in Koh Samui?

    Thanks for your answers.

  6. What other non-b options are there?

What is my employer required to do for me to apply for a 1 year single entry?

Can I extend my current multiple entry non-b?

There must be thousands of people all over Thailand, that are working legally, who are in the same situation as I am in.

Good luck Rob. I guess you are on Koh Samui. What about the German guy, Herbert, I think his name is, who organises visa runs from Koh Samui? Can he help with an application in Kota Bharu?

  7. Hello All

I have had a work permit with the same employer for the last 8 or 9 years. Every February/March my employers lawyer/accountant provides me with paperwork to apply for a 1 year multiple entry non-b visa. I have always gone to Peneng and used Banana Guesthouse to make my visa application. I have never had a problem.

I have now heard that I may not be given a visa from Penang. I do not know if I am listed as a director or shareholder of the company or not. What would I and my employer need to do to have me listed? If I am not a shareholder or director and I use an agent is there a chance I will be given the visa or is it a definite no?

What other options do I have? Can I get a 1 year single entry non-b? I have heard I can get a 3 month non-b and extend it for 1 year. How do I do this? Can I extend it on arrival in Bangkok like a tourist visa? Do I need more paperwork for an extension?

What does everyone else do in this situation? There must be thousands of foreigners legally working in Thailand who are not directors or shareholders of the company that employs them.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  8. Does anyone know how long it takes to obtain a Non-B Multiple entry visa in Penang?

If I catch the Air Asia flight from Bangkok that arrives in Penang at 1620 can I catch the return flight 2 days later that leaves Penang at 1645?

I have had 5 or 6 Non-B Multiple entry visas already from Penang. The paperwork is always in order and I have never had a problem with the application. I have always used Banana Guesthouse to make the application for me.

My plan is to arrive on Mon 6th March at 1620, go straight to Banana guesthouse and give them my paperwork. They can submit the application the next morning and hopefully I can pick it up the next afternoon, Wed 8th, in time to catch the 1645 flight.

    Does this sound possible?

    Thank you

  9. Hello All

I have had a work permit provided by my employer for the last 6 or 7 years. It expires and is renewed every year on 26th November.

Every year I go down to Penang and get a 1 Year Non B Multiple Entry visa. I then do 3 border crossings and then go back to Penang.

My question is for how long must my work permit be valid to receive a 1 Year Non B Multiple Entry visa? I have heard some people say 6 months. Others say 8 months and others still say 9 months. I guess the rules vary at different consulates.

I have just done a border crossing and have until 30 April. Can I wait 'till then or should I ask my employer to prepare the paper work and go to Penang or Kuala Lumpur before 26th February?

    Any information would be appreciated.

  10. Hello All

I have a work permit provided to me by my employer. It needs to be renewed by the 26th November. I need to do my next visa run on 6th November but my work permit is with my employers lawyer being renewed. My non-b does not expire until March next year. I usually do my visa runs at The Andaman Club near Ranong but I need my work permit to do this. I have been told that the work permit will not be returned until about 15th. What choices do I have? I don't want 11 days overstay. Is it possible to extend my 90 stamp at an immigration office? I am currently in Bangkok can I extend at an immigration office here or must I go to my local office which would be either Koh Samui or Chumporn.

    Thank you for your help.

  11. In early November I went to Kota Bharu and got a 3 month non b. I then got a 1 year work permit at the end of November. My employer organises everything for the work permit. I give them my passport and a few weeks later i am given my passport and work permit. At the end of my 3 month non b I went to Penang and got a one year non b around 10th of Feb. Every time I enter Thailand I am granted entry for 3 months. So 4 visa runs to Myanmar later my non b is expiring in Feb. I did another visa run which allowed me to stay till mid May My employer renews my work permit in Nov and then I went to Penang to get a new 1 year non b in May. Work permit renewed again in November and visa runs every 3 months but this year I go home for a while and reenter Thailand in mid April so I would like to get new non from Penang in mid July but work permit will need to be renewed in 4 months.

Can I just extend my 1 year non b at an immigration office each year and not have to travel all the way to Penang?

  12. Hello All

I have had a work permit for the last 3 or 4 years and have never had a problem with renewal of work permit or non b visa. My employer is very efficient and always provides the correct documents. I have always renewed my non b in Penang. Recently a work colleague went to renew his non b but he was only given a 3 month visa. The embassy in Kota Bahru said that he was not given a 1 year visa because his work permit needed to be renewed within 6 months, or in other words to be given a 1 year non b your work permit must be valid for at least 6 more months. He renewed his work permit and then got a 1 year visa without a problem.

Now here's my question - my work permit needs to be renewed every year on the 26th of November. My non b expires on the 7th of May. I just arrived back to Thailand so my passport has been stamped until 16th July. Should I renew my non b before 26th May (ie 6 months before work permit expires), or could i wait until 16th July before renewing? I guess what I am asking is does anyone know if the 6 month work permit validity rule is always enforced in Penang or is it one of those rules that is different at every embassy?

I don't fancy 2 trips in 3 months to Penang so I hope it is clear what my situation is and i would greatly appreciate any information or help that you might have.

    Cheers
