I realize COVID extensions may be continued in the future, but what I am interested in is convenience. Not the cheapest solution.
1. Arrived 17 Nov on a 60 day TV (EU passport, perm resident in Japan)
2. I will get one regular 30 day extension in mid Jan when my TV expires - CAN I DO THIS ONLY ONCE?
3. If so, then I would prefer to pay for a more "legitimate" visa ( for lack of a better word) to stay for a period of 6 months at a minimum, to one year more at most. I am actually seriously interested in learning Thai, or maybe even Muay Thai.....just to have something to do.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IN THIS REGARD?
I am staying in Phuket.
TIA for any tips. Agents - please feel free to contact me as well.

Here in Phuket the a-hole maskless tourists make up at least 40%.

So I'm flying into Phuket tomorrow and I have TWO different Test&Go bookings and I can't remember which one I submitted for ThaiPass. That info of course isn't in the QR code.
Tried emailing support. No luck. So basically I'll have two drivers waiting for me upon arrival (no problem, they are prepaid) but how will I know which one/hotel to go with? Will the airport staff be able to look into the inner details of my TP?
My main concern is going with the wrong one and then my actual hotel not getting the PCR test results (because they were sent to the other place) and causing all sorts of problems.
Also, I'd at least like to be able to find the other driver and tell him (or call the hotel) that he/the hotel won't be needed so he doesn't wait around any longer.
Advice?

Some schools can arrange a non-ed visa application at immigration.
Sorry, I don't understand. Do you mean some schools can arrange other types of long term visas for an under-50 to stay? I'll be looking to extend about 6-12 months once my 60 day TR + 30 day extension is used up (and for the sake of argument just assuming that the "Covid extensions" will be a thing of the past by then).

Huh? No more Thai language school visas? I was actually kinda looking forward to going back to school^^....
What about the new 'Learn Muay Thai' visa/school packages I've been seeing vids about on Youtube by well known YTbers/gyms?

So....of those who have arrived and received an ATK....tell us your story.
1. Is BKK different than Phuket?
2. Easy to use/easy instructions? What is the actual physical process (is there a swab thingy?....nose or mouth?...has anyone accidentally peed on it while drunk thinking it's a pregnancy test^^?)........
3. How exactly does the process work as far as reporting it? Do you have to upload a pic of it somewhere? Read somewhere that it has to be shown to hotel staff? What if we move to our own condo after checking out of the hotel?
4. Is Day 1 considered any flight arrival time before 00:00 or do they mean hotel check-in time? So if my flight is scheduled for arrival at 23:55, is that still day 1? Or is Day 1 about an hour later when I check into my hotel at 00:45? And does Day "6/7" mean it has to be done on Day 6 OR 7?
Many questions, but not much info nor boots on ground stories out there so far....

Having gone through the process; had we had the Thailand Pass ‘Alternative Quarantine’ approval instead of the ‘Quarantine Exempt’ approval I can’t see where it would have made a difference.
What about at the departure airport? Did the airline check-in agent actually scan the TP QR code (on your phone or printout), or just check it visually?

So for those of you who have actually boarded flights using TP - did the airline check-in agents actually scan your TP QR code or just look at it on your phone or printout?

(post deleted, wrong thread, sorry)

Phuket is the exception in regard to PCR upon arrival test as you can book it yourself (a few Test & Go hotels will now offer it, but it seems most will tell you to do it on thailandpsas.com for THB 2400).

We have been working hard to get hundreds of TP approvals.
I was just trying to purchase your Thailand Pass Service but there's no option for "1 Night Test and Go" for Phuket?
I'm flying on the 17th (from Korea) ....submitted TP application successfully on 1 Nov but haven't gotten approval QR, so would rather pay for professional service to expedite this than trust the system.
(Just saw you replied to me on LINE. Thank you.)

I was reading this morning that any application less than 48 hours will be rejected, has anyone tried less than 48?
Less than 48 before the flight?
Less than 48 since the last app submission?

Am I missing something I got a Thai visa non o issued before applying for the Thailand pass but I don’t see anywhere to upload my non o visa ?? Do I just show to immigration and they stamp my passport with the non o at the airport?
TP does not require a visa upload.

No hardship at all but hotel was poor. Still for less than 5,000 Baht for taxi, covid test, room and 2 meals it was fair.
Can you share which hotel? For just a few hours, I (and I'm sure many here) want the cheapest possible one, and under 5k for the whole package is great...
Also, did you arrive using COE or TP?

I own a house in a gated village close to the tourist strip. A couple of owners have rented their homes to these tourists for short term, generally overcrowding, groups of people, they get drunk and are very noisy.
We, the residents are always complaining about the noise late at night.
It's really annoying.Call police/immigration/tax office and Hotel Association. At our condo we've done this a few times and now the owners (both Thai and falang) stopped doing it. We've recently also put up large signs in Thai/English and Chinese warning of this, as well as the official govt warning to owners, so any tourists who show up at the lobby looking to "check in" are scared off.
The police especially have been pretty helpful (even without tea money) because us "good" owners are trying to protect everyone from the "bad" owners risking COVID transmission (555^^) because they are not authorized to act as a hotel nor are condos SHA/SHA+ certified.
We had about 20 a-hole owners like this in our building (out of 120 units). Now they are all trying to sell 555.
If the tourists can't show a rental contract that is 1 month+, then the authorities will take action.

Bar girls (prostitution) are illegal too. Technically.
But Bargirl don't cheat the Thai govt (and by extension, the Thai people), out of due tax contributions.
Nor do they cheat the hotel industry out of their deserved bookings.
More and more condos are posting warning notices in the lobby about this, and pretty soon there will be a telephone number specifically for reporting these cases. Good. I didn't buy my condo for it to be overrun with tourists and causing unnecessary wear and tear on the common areas, not to mention overcrowding.

https://royalvacationdmc.com/quarantine-packages/sleep-with-me-patong-1-day-quarantine-package/
PACKAGE INCLUDES
- Required Insurance
- Airport Transfer on Arrival
- Thailand Pass
- Taxes & Service Charges
- 1 Night Accommodation
- PCR Test on Day 1
They INCLUDE the TP with it if you send them the required docs.
How exactly are they able to do/guarantee this when such a large % of applicants cannot?
Perhaps the same way in which immi agents are able to do things that regular people can't or have a hard time doing...... wink wink?
Likelihood of Covid extensions continuing or not after Jan.

As the title says.
What do you experts like ubonjoe/jack etc. here think?
1. Pretty much definitely to continue for at least a while
2. Very possibly (better than a 70% chance)
3. Possibly (50/50 chance)
4. Not confident, less than 50% chance
5. Nope, no chance, this time they mean it. Buh bye, falang. Your free ride is done.
