One would think so. Or simply keep a copy of your bank statement, have future withdrawals match any remittance to Thailand, and put 2023 and future income into a separate account.
Maybe I wasn't specific enough, I'm talking about offshore money that hasn't been taxed. As I understand, until the end of this year I can remit it into Thailand tax-free, and starting January 1st 2024 this won't be the case anymore ?

Long story short : if I plan to stay in Thailand indefinitely, any money I earned in 2022 or before, I should bring it into Thailand before the end of the year.
Correct ?

My youngest kid was born in Thailand, and currently only has a foreign passport without any visa or any stamp.
As far as I know this is the normal situation, but she will need to take an international flight soon so I would like to make 100% sure there isn't some paperwork that needs to be done before. -
Hello,
Yesterday I tried to register for the online personal income tax filing (https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-efiling-web/register), but somehow the system says their database doesn't match my birth date/name/etc.
I got my TIN about 1 or 2 month ago.
Any idea what could be going wrong ?
Thanks.

Thanks for the answers.
Since the passport would only expire a few days before the 1 year extension, there is no hurry to get a new one

Hello,
My kid needs a 1 year visa extension (ED), but her passport would expire just a little before the new "allowed to stay" date.
Will that be OK?
Thanks

Where did you hear that you can only extend your 1 year permission to stay 3 days in advance???
I went to CW yesterday to extend my permission to stay 44 days before it expires (26th September) & despite it being a Friday & the day after a Public holiday it was very, very quiet so my advice is to do it early & avoid the guys extending their Covid permission to stay.
I got it from
https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/important-announcement/
Was it a 1 year extension ?

The 3 days count doesn't include week-ends and holidays (so have I been told, and it seems logical ; what if Friday had been a day off?), so the application should be possible from september 22-24.
Still a small window...

Oh, I thought it was still available for Muang Thong Tani

The appointment system is for short-term visa extensions

Hi,
It recently came to my attention that long-term visa extensions could now only be requested for 3 days prior to expiration date, supposedely to reduce congestion at Chaeng Watthana government complex (not sure how that works).
But with last year's exceptional visa exemption, which lasted until september the 26th, anyone who requested their 1-year extension between August (perhaps earlier) and september 26th 2020, received a permission to stay until september 26th 2021.
Apparently all of them - at least 2 months worth of visa extensions - will have to come to Chaeng Watthana in the same 3-days window.
Am I missing something or are we going to have a nice overcrowd these days?

Weird, wouldn't filling no tax return be more suspicious ? (assuming you have a TIN already)
