Hopefully this isn't going to be a common thing as tourists slowly start to return to Thailand.
I can see why some Thais are envious and resentful of foreign people whom they perceive as having weathered covid a lot better than them financially, but physical attacks are never OK. They really need to turn their anger towards the people that actually caused their problems. (Obviously this is precisely why foreigners are blamed for covid.)
Billions still haven't figured out who their real enemy has been for centuries. So, they take their frustrations, anger out on the nearest person, their own kind, ruling class slaves.

Either way is a very immature way to prove your manhood. Way to much of that from mental midgets in the world.

Agree!! I feel, Thailands best days are behind it? I spent six months a year there for five years. I could almost see things declining for expats on a daily bases. By the time I left over two years ago, there were so many vacant units in our condo complex it looked like a ghost town. Even during holiday season I noticed the big drop in tourists. I got the feeling, the government is not expat friendly. They want you to spend your money, over a short period of time, and then leave. So glad I didn't buy!

I know a fellow American that married? had a baby with a Thai that already had two children. I said, You have a unique life as you get to see Thai's up close, get to know them. He replied, Not as much fun as you might think. We have nothing in common. So it's not easy!

I was talking to a couple last night in the Balkans about their two week stay in Thailand four years ago. Nothing good to say about taxi's, rude, high price, took them to wrong place, then took their baggage out of trunk and threw it on ground. I said, had similar experience with them and baht buses overcharging. I also brought up how rude small shop owners are if you touch merchandise and don't buy, or ask for a certain color and they wave you off, meaning, I'm to busy playing this computer game to look for you. After almost five years of living in Thailand I was so glad I didn't buy property there. Had a really bad gut feeling about the place.

20k. Someone put to many 0 I think. Tourists? NO expats who live here are returning and mass Thai are returning. Nearly zero tourists.
I came back from Europe yesterday. Plane not even 50 people total. Over 50% Thai. And the rest retired people who have property or family here. Tourists close to ZERO
More believable. Many expats foolish bought property in Thailand. Now, will find those properties in need of mold cleaning, etc upon return. I resisted the encouragement from Thais to buy in Thailand. Gut feeling. Plus the few long time American expats I talked to said, They wish they hadn't bought. To many headaches when it comes to staying long term, including irritated border control officers, after seeing so many visa extensions in passport.

Will they all be multimillionaires does anyone know?
More likely, ones leaving the frying pan (escaping), only to jump into the fire. Last hoorah!

Some people are so desperate to get back the fun, life, they had in Thailand that is no more, will never be again, to stay positive, interested in living, they will do anything to enter that illusion again.

They only want foreigners who stay a week or two.
I sensed that over the four years I lived in Thailand. Spend your money, then go home. We don't need more people moving here permanently. Got enough headaches with our own people.

Yes, very much so!
As a 10yr old American the U.S., it's people didn't impress me much. I felt the country was a plastic, fake illusion that wouldn't last. So started planning my escape in my latter teens. Since 1977 I've been to over thirty countries, lived in six, including Thailand. Felt the Balkans fit me best. After retiring, moved here permanently 12yrs ago. Couldn't be happier.

When I was a youngster I started to know what I wanted my future
to be, I was not reading comics , but atlases and adventure magazines
like Wide World Magazine, etc..
I wanted to travel the World, see exciting things, retire early, so I knew
I would have to start saving money , at about 12 was out selling eggs,
potatoes, and firewood (sticks), around the houses with a barrow, fast forward,
through hard work and luck in business , retired at 42 , I was in a business
that enabled me to travel to many countries around the World ,
I have had a good life, so far, at 76 must be nearing the end, but looking
back don't regret a thing, it's worked out just about the way I wanted it
too all those years ago, only 3 places I would like to visit before I pop off,
but this covid thing has screwed things up, so Madagascar, Machu Picchu,
and Easter Island may not get done, but if you do everything, nothing to
look forward to.

As a American youngster I dreamed of leaving the U.S. one day. Country, people never really impressed me for numerous reasons. So I dreamed of exotic places like Aftica, etc. All my dreams came true. Been to over thirty countries, lived in six, now retired, so permanently, and very happily settled in the Balkans. Life couldn't have worked out better for me. Planning way ahead was the trick!

We just won't allow you to see it, smell it, or do it.
A more honest slogan would be:
'Bring your money, don't move, touch, drink, or do anything, now leave.'

Amazing what people, foreigners, will do to go back to, stay in a country that really doesn't want them, so makes it as difficult as possible.

It's the same like when you've been with a certain bank for 20 years and they give $300 to new customers who open a checking account with them and nothing to their old and loyal ones.
So, what about you? Nada. It's just business.
Maybe you should have waited way back then for the $300 to be offered to you before opening a account.

Obviously you do not live here with those comments. Or do you…..?
Its seems, the poor of all countries, not just Thailand, should have caught on by now, no big money, you're not welcome anymore. Go back to where you came from, your small town, village in the jungle or wherever and die, out of sight of billionaires, millionaires. That includes those of meager incomes such as police, etc that really only deal with their own kind, the poor. People paying attention saw that starting in the U.S. right after, by design, not accident Katrina. Once out, make sure they don t return.

Tourism confidence in Thailand plummets amid economic jitters

I quite going to Thailand after four years there. Much more expensive, aggressive/violent Thais, visa headaches for long stays, etc, etc!
