Does anyone know if Thai banks and/or Western Union are open this week please, because of the Buddhist holiday?
Thanks

So therefore not a big incoming deposit.
Well I'd hate to lose it running for a bus.

I assume you mean USD 500K. I have sent that amount before and the bank asked me nothing. I think it's not particularly uncommon.
No, 500k THB. You're welcome (for allowing me to massage your ego).

Hi, I am expecting a deposit next week of 500k to my Thai Kbank account. An outstanding loan being repaid but the bloke who owes me it says it is coming collectively from several Thai accounts. Do I need to be concerned about the bank contacting me and asking me questions or not?

Although nowhere will (officially) sell booze today, there are places I know I can buy it of course.
Besides the risk of getting nicked, are the locals generally cool with farangs having a beer on their holy day?

I actually live at Sukhumvit Soi 50 and for a few years there has been a complex of bars there opposite Tesco. Cheap Charlie's also moved there. These bars are a much better class of bars than QPP IMO. Well, in the sense that you don't have girls bugging you for drinks and the girls working there are not available for barfine if you do get tempted after a few beers. I drink there most days now.

Was actually officially called Queen's Park Plaza.

Does anyone who used to drink at the bar complex in the title, know if the previous bars there (which are now gone and a Makro standing in their place) know if the previous owners moved to another area?
I've been away for the past year and used to enjoy drinking there. Maybe they've all scattered to the four winds?
Cheers

In words attributed to the late J.P. Morgan,
“If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it”
Real, lawyer-types in Bangkok offer one-stop concierge service (pick-up, drop off, 90-day reporting) to well-heeled ex-pats and foreign workers and their families. One merely needs to sit in the L area at CW for more than 5 minutes to observe this. I do know a few who use the services of a particular lawyer, and have for at least 15 years. I gagged when told the price.
For all others I'd say "Nay". Once you're on the hook with an agent, well get used to it. That's assuming they don't lose your passport. Most in the L area doing marriage extensions seem to be agent-less; they are easy to identify obviously, lugging their massive photo albums. Oh, and the wife.
What is your reporting office? Plenty of experiences here, might highlight any issues.
Thanks, but in this instance I disagree with J P Morgan.

At most offices now they will only want a TM30 report done to change you address.
Can it be done online?

My old method of travelling to Laos every year to get my visa done is not an option with borders closed.
I may have to consider using a visa agent in a few weeks when my visa expires. I have a coupe of questions:
a) Is it safe/legal?
b) What kind of price do they charge for a one-year extension based on marriage?
c) Do I need to have 400,000 in a Thai account, and if so how long should it have been sitting there?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Could anyone inform me of how I notify Immigration of my change of address please?
That is, if it's a requirement. Just moved apartment.
Thanks

so you are staying 1 month, and doing the 14 days quarantine? yet have a 2 months visa.
Seriously, what's the point?
I'm staying indefinitely. Maybe you'll be able to get a restlful sleep tonight now.

IMO slightly self indulgent.
Many people can not afford the return trip that you outline.
Slightly hurtful given the time of the year. Many folk missing family unable to travel.
It's his money, he can do what he wants with it. Or maybe you're jealous because you don't have much?

That's a lot of money just to come to Thailand for two months.
I'm not here for two months, I'm here indefinitely.

Yes, just one month. But I booked an outgoing ticket leaving after a month which I will not be using.

I have a question regarding the health insurance. How long must the insurance cover?
I heard that it should cover the whole length of the visa but I also heard that one month is enough so it's confusing.
How much did you spend on the 10 days quarantine at the hotel?
Also, I got stamped in for 90 days, although I'll be extending that prior to expiry.

On my visa application I stated that I'd be staying for two months, but booked a one-month return ticket as, although I have never been asked to show an outgoing ticket upon entering the Kingdom, wasn't aware what the rules were post-COVID. Anyway I booked one month's insurance based on the length of my itinerary/outgoing ticket, which worked.
My quarantine cost 30,000 baht.

i have booked 90 days worth (cost more than my flight)
but now after searching everywhere i am still not sure does my Thailand Pass have an expiry date ?
I only did one month's worth of insurance and worked for me. Although I will be staying indefinitely. As for the Thailand Pass, I think only valid for 72 hours after original flight but confirm that with someone else.

For the non O retirement visa to get the Thailand Pass? Thanks
Hi. I think all visas are the same, but I was advised to get at least one month's worth. Went for AXA, did it in minutes and got me the Thailand Pass.

I got back to Thailand yesterday after over a year away. Longest I have ever been out of the country after getting on for a quarter of a century here. Now have to quarantine for ten days as have not had that needle stuck into my arm, but I flew Singapore Airlines from the UK, transiting through Singapore. Everything including the Non-O visa and Thailand Pass were very smooth.
Happy to answer any concerns anyone might have.

Is anyone aware of an insurance package that covers reimbursement of flight and/or ASQ hotel money on the off-chance of the pre-flight COVID test being positive? Thanks.
-
Hi, has anyone taken the above flight recently please? I'm nervous about checking in and the flight being delayed as I will be cutting it very fine with the timing of this COVID PCR test. Was it a smooth check-in, and did the flight leave on time? If mine is delayed by two hours my test will be null and void, I'll lose my flight and my quarantine hotel.
Thank you

Is there such a thing as flight and hotel insurance for if you happen to test positive for COVID prior to getting on the flight?
Advice/tips appreciated.

I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to weed. Been buying mine from Sukhumweed on Sukhumvit 42 in Bangkok. I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to strains and prices but the best I have had so far, has to be Blue Dream, 550 a gram.
Can anyone tell me any good and decently-priced stuff I should try? And also where in Bangkok/Sukhumvit area is recommended other than where I am currently purchasing it?
Thanks
