If fully vaccinated a ATK covid 19 test is not required. You only need a certificate showing at least 2 vaccinations.

The test has to be done by a professional that would do a certificate confirming the test 48 hours before arrival in Laos.

I more than agreed with Ubonjoe. You need the proof u have the 2 vaccine short minimum. I have done the border run at Nong Khai 2 months ago. Better be safe than sorry. Is all up to you.

  2. Just wanted to share on opening a Thai bank account issue. I have arrived in Thailand on 13 Oct under the 30 days visa exemption. I went to the Immigration office in Udon the next day to do my TM30 reporting. I share with the IO that I am going to marry my Thai gf and needed to open a bank account to deposit the 400k bath. The IO was really helpful, she returned my passport with the new additional 2 months extension of stay and a letter to be given to the bank for the opening bank account. I paid 2k BAHT for all the process.

  3. Hi, I need an advise on marriage visa. I am currently on a 30 days tourist visa exemption. Arrived in Udon Thani on 14 Oct after my 7 days quarantine in BKK. I went to the IMO in Udon to do my TM30 and at the same time ask if I could extend my TR visa when it expired on 04 Nov. I was amazed when they extend another 2 months visa when I told them I am here to marry my fiancee of 6 years. The IO even prepared a letter to allow me to open a Thai bank account for the deposit of 400k requirement for the marriage visa. Do I need to leave Thailand to apply for the marriage visa and return or can I do it during my 3 months stay here. Appreciate if someone can guide me through this. Thank you.

  4. Hi travellers, I am flying to Bangkok from Singapore on the first week of October. I have managed to download the ThailandPlus apps but not able to open the apps. Is this apps allow you to open only in Thailand ? Has anyone face this issue and care to share. Many thanks.

  5. I have went through a lot of obstacle to get my COE approved.

    1) Change of 45 days visa exemption to 30 days by the Thai Embassy Singapore.

    2) Airline cancelled my flight. No refund, got to purchase new ticket from other airlines.

    3) Submit a new flight details to the ASQ hotel Bangkok and request for a confirmation letter for my COE.

All this happened during my COE was pre-approved.

Hope you guys don't have to go through all this in yr country.

Don't forget before you can get married, you have to go to you Embassy and a certificate or declaration that you are free to marry, so I would do that before you head to Udon Thani if you haven't done it yet.

Hi dsj, I have all the requirement documents ready from my country. I just need to find a translator company in Udon to do the documents into Thai. Should be spending quite a bit for all the papers work here. Thanks for the sharing.

After you get married you can apply for a non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai at immigration. It will need to be done 15 days before your 30 day permit to stay ends or the 30 day extension of it. You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank in your name only on the day you apply.

Then during the last 30 days of the 90 days the visa will allow you can apply for a one year extension of stay. The 400k baht will have to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.

If you need more time to do the visa application you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your new wife.

Thanks Ubonjoe, one last question, as mention I will be on a 30days tourist visa and 14 days to serve for the quarantine in ASQ hotel Bangkok. I have left only 15 days to prepare my marriage paper. I am afraid this 15 days is insufficient for me to do all the marriage paper work progress due to the way the Thai works. Will l be allow to apply for a 60 days covid extension which will be cease on the 27 Nov rather than the normal 30 days
