Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
It's been super quiet lately. Is there any expectation that things will start to pick up again soon? It's been over 2 years since my MOI interview (not Bangkok) and still nothing. I could call I guess, but does calling actually help in any way? Will they bother to at least check your application still exists, in anyone's experience?

Does this batch include the batch that went to the MOI interview in Nonthaburi in August 2024? If you know.

I just read that our new PM will also be the IM. Should we all just forget about Citizenship for a few years? 😅

Yes she was. By the way, maybe someone confirm something for me. I had thought the local MOI interview I did in Nonthaburi was the last one. My wife spoke with someone there who said there would be another MOI interview in Bangkok. True or false?

Rumor has it that there will be another cabinet shuffle in a few weeks. Not sure if that's good news or not, but at the least it might cause a delay if there is a new MOI who wants to get his team in place. Probably + a couple of months of idle time with citizenship applications.

Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
Hey all. I haven't posted here in a while but I just want to provide you all with an update. I had my MOI interview in Nonthaburi in August last year (2024). I was expecting a similar experience to my other interviews but it was actually pretty rough. The SB officer handling my case told me I wouldn't need to sing the national or royal anthem (as I'm married to a Thai with kids) so stupidly I didn't practice for that - because I was asked to sing. Luckily I know the national anthem anyway but I wasn't able to complete the royal anthem. The official in charge was pretty strict and criticized me for not standing up straight enough when singing and how I should have worn yellow... etc. There was something about me he didn't like. I left that day feeling pretty disappointed. Anyway, I left it a few weeks then I asked the SB officer if there was any update. He informed me that the application was sent to Bangkok MOI for signing, much to my suprise. It's been there for at least 6 months. Just so the rest of the process goes as smoothly as possible, can you let me know what to expect if I get to the oath ceremony. What should I learn for this? Congratulations to all those who have obtained citizenship already!
