I ear what you replied to me, ubonjoe and jackdd. Thank you, but I would like to understand how, in practice, this could work if the insurance has to cover the « duration of the extension of stay »,
As I said each time I come back to Thailand, I will get a one year extension, so I'm supposed to have also a one year long insurance to cover that new extension.
If I do that three times a year, I can't imagine to have to buy for each time a new full year insurance !
The problem is that each time the previous full year insurance will not be anymore in adequation with the new year extension that I'am granted with.
That is a complete silly case …-

With a PE (Privilege Entry – Elite Visa), each entry into Thailand automatically extends the authorization of stay for one-year.
If the holder leaves and returns every three months, the extension is renewed each time for one year. It means, In this example, for three more months each time – and so on in the future until the visa is exchanged (5, 10 or 20 years - automatically renewable every 5 years for the 10 and 20 years PE).If the insurance has to cover the « duration of the extension of stay », it would mean that a PE holder has to buy a new one-year insurance policy each time he returns – in my example, that would pile up at four one-year policies in one year ! It would be burlesque and impracticable!
The PE seems to be quite close to the PR (Permanent Residency), except that the holders goy it for life instead of 5, 10 or 20 years ?As far as I know, PR holders currently only have to buy a 30-day insurance policy to enter Thailand. What about Elite Visa holders ?

The case has nothing to do with the Elite visa: the visa is not part of the documents required to apply for the Thailand Pass (whereas it was for the CEO; I think I remember).
If you read the original report, the person concerned is quite detailed and what he is really complaining about is for not having received technical/administrative help from the company which manages the Privilege Entry visa.
And after all, if this company offers assistance for the 90 days and the renewal of the visa every five years, is it nowhere stipulated in the contract that it will also fill in other types of applications for the Elite contract holder. This is regrettable, but cannot be used as a complain.
It seems that this gentleman was only in the same situation as many others who for the latest days simply could not access the official Thailand Pass website. Elite or not, that is not the problem.-

Thank you jackdd. I chose the PE way as I wanted to be as free as possible to come-go-come without procedures as few as possible. I'm more than 60 but still OK to travel. Iwanted just take a flight ticket and go. Of course with the pandemic things are a bit more stressful but that will have an end soon I hope.
