  1. I need to change my passport - I will do it in my home country. Would that be a problem when I’m entering Thailand? Or would it be better if I do it in my embassy in Thailand? And would I have to change the passport number in PR book and Alien book? Thank you!
  2. 1. No problem admitting it to anyone, many Thais are registered at their hometown but live elsewhere 2. Hey, you get PR. You don’t need to do TM30 anymore 3. I don’t think SSO would notice your change of immigration status. You will have to contact them if you wish it to be changed
  3. I applied in Dec 2020, got approved in Feb 2022
  4. Need to do something with the alien book after 1 year? ????
  5. Hello, I’d like to register my scooter under my name. I visited an agency and the staff is asking for the Certificate of Residency from the immigration. As a PR holder I can’t have that paper, so I brought the certificate from the embassy instead but the staff told me it’s not accepted. Is it true? Thank you!
  6. Hello, As a PR holder, can I also have a yellow book? I’m tired of authorities asking for the blue Tabien Baan, I’m under my friend’s blue Tabien Baan and can’t bring the original. Today I went to change the name of my scooter and I got rejected even if I had the certificate of residency from the embassy - the officer kept asking for the paper from Immigration (based on TM 30) which I can’t get. He didn’t know what PR is. So annoying.
  7. Hello, my official address in Thailand is in Bangkok (I’m a PR holder / have a pink card) but I’m currently living in Koh Samui. I’d like to make my driver’s license. Which DLT I should go - in Bangkok or in Koh Samui? My name is under a Tabien Baan of my friend’s house in Bangkok so I can’t bring the original. I went to my embassy and got the certificate of residency with both addresses. I’d like to have my Thai ID number on my license. And I prefer doing the process in Koh Samui. I wonder if Samui would accept my pink card with Bangkok address… or probably the address doesn’t matter. Thank you.
  8. A confusing and painful rule for those who do not own a property here. I added my name under my friend’s Blue Book. She did the PR with me so it was easier for me - she was with me at the District office with her original Blue Book to do her own process. Now I’m facing inconveniences because the Blue Book isn’t mine. I went to Transport office in Bang Chak to do my driver’s license. I presented my pink card and PR book hoping that they could replace the ‘Certificate of Residence’ requirement. But the officer said I also need to bring the original Blue Book. I didn’t want to ask my friend so I went to the embassy and got the certificate from there instead. I’m going back in few weeks to try again. I really hope that my ID number is used in my drivers license instead of my passport number so I don’t need to bother with passport change but no clue if my request would be accepted without the original Blue Book. I live in another province while my PR address is in Bangkok. I’m trying to register my vehicle in the province I’m living in. But the agent who is helping the process could not understand why I had to register it in the province while my address is in Bangkok. Other foreigners simply go to the immigration and get the Certificate of Residence with the address in the province thanks to their TM30. Me I don’t do the TM30 anymore. So the embassy again. At least my embassy was kind enough to issue the certificate of residence in both addresses. I’d love to have a Yellow Book with my address in the province, that would make my life easier. Now my friend who allowed me to be under her Blue Book is thinking about selling her house. Then what would happen to me? Would it be a problem if I’m not under any Blue Book? Would anyone even care? Would the Blue Book be required at the time of Alien Book renewal? Who knows. I plan to build a house here and have my own Blue Book one day. Will be a struggle to convince Tessaban to add my name under the Blue Book, sure they’ve never heard of PR. Police office here already told me they’ve never heard of the Alien Book. No benefits of PR for me so far since I’m employed, my company was taking care of the visa, 90 days reporting and all anyway. I’m still glad that I did it - it makes me feel more home in Thailand. That’s it. Ahahaha.
  9. Yes. As soon as I got the Alien book from the police I went to the district office with all needed documents. Then it took another 2 months to add my name in my friend’s blue book and get the pink card. A lot of additional documents given.
  10. The officer who was in charge called me. There was no such thing as a letter. I went to CW more than a month after I got the news of my approval. It was last year. That 7 day thing is for the Alien book at the police station after the PR book.
  11. Hello all, Someone is telling me that I need to change my blue PR book to the white one after a year. Is it true? My understanding - I only need to do it when the blue book becomes full.. Thank you.
  12. Yep same story. So until I move to another Tabien Baan whether it is mine or friend’s, I have no plan to report to the police station and update my address in RED book, because absolutely no one cares. The local police officers here - have absolutely no clue what PR is ???? Probably the bigger one in main town does.
  13. @scorecard Yes I do have a Red book, registered in Khlong Tan in Bangkok. I’m under my friend’s Tabien Baan now, at the time of PR process completion I didn’t own a house, still I don’t. I plan to build a house in Surat province. I set up a company, and I plan to lease the land from my own company (well 51% Thai) as an additional security measure. I think in this case I will be able to have the Tabien Baan under my name, not 100% sure. To be honest - unless my friend in Bangkok who allowed me to be under her Tabien Baan sells her house, I would keep my PR address in hers in Bangkok. Too much hassle to change anything, whether it is the Red book or Tabien Baan.
  14. Thank you Scorecard. But I’m still confused - if I report my actual residence to the police or not who’d care, who’d even notice it? I don’t have anything ‘official’ that can show my actual address in Surat, no more TM30 or anything.. I plan to do it when I have my house here and have my own blue book.
  15. The reporting would only be necessary if I actually move to another blue book, no? I’m under my friend’s blue book in Bangkok, now I live in Surat province but I do not own any house here..
  16. Hello all, I live in Surat Thani province where PR holders are almost non-existent. I’m going to buy a secondhand scooter and Residence Certificate is needed. But the thing is my official address is in Bangkok. I wonder: 1) As a PR holder, do we need the Residence Certificate? Or PR book / Pink card would be sufficient? 2) I wonder if the immigration here would issue the Residence Certificate for me since my address is in Bangkok? Thank you ????????
  17. Thank you Scorecard, rimmae2 and onthemoon for the clarification - no such thing as 'renewal', I need to do them only when it is needed. Good to know, I will do mine just before my next trip. I may do like onthemove - I have my elderly parents back home. Thank you all.
  18. Hello all, I did my first re-entry permit and endorsement in April 2022. I do not plan to leave Thailand until June 2023. Should I do a new re-entry and endorsement before the current one expire? Or doing it after April / before I leave would be ok? Thank you.
  19. Can a spouse of PR get non-O? Immigration told me yes, but I do not find any into in embassy websites. Since it is rare, I wonder if any embassies would be willing to process it. Or is it possible to apply for Non-O for the spouse in Thailand? Thank you.
  20. Another question- is it possible for the family of PR holders to apply for Non-O visa? I only found such info here, not sure if I can trust it.. Thai embassy in my country did not specify such thing. https://lima.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-visa-o-family-member?page=5d846a0415e39c31dc006001&menu=5d846a0415e39c31dc006002
  21. Hello all, Yesterday I got the pink card - the completion of my PR application of 2020. I’m wondering if replacing Passport numbers with my new Thai ID number in tax / social security is meaningful. If yes, what are the processes? Anything else to update? Thank you.
