  3. On my most recent visit to Khon Kaen Immigration to do my 90 day reporting, I was told by the officer that I must make all further applications to Chaiyaphum Immigration, I live in the Chaiyaphum Region, but always reported to Khon Kaen as they insisted.

My question is, does anyone know the address of Immigration in Chaiyaphum, I've tried searching online, but so far unsuccessfully

Any help in this matter would be most appreciated.

    Regards.

  4. Information needed Please, I'm currently living here on a Yearly Visa Extension Based on my Marriage to a Thai Wife.

My current extension is due for renewal late November and I would like to change it to a Retirement Visa, I have in place the required funds in the Bank, well seasoned and also have a Yellow Book to prove my residential status, I know the Forms to fill in and Passport Copies to provide, not sure of how many of each though,?. Also do I have to begin the process any earlier, because of the change in Visa.?. I usualy apply seven days before my current Visa Expires.

Not sure if i've missed out anything, but help would be really appreciated.

    Thank You in Anticipation.

  5. I've owned my Mitsubishi Triton Plus, since April 2011, 4 door, 2 wheel drive automatic, I find it roomy with adequate comfort for rear seat passengers. I opted for the Pearl White version which came with simulated leather seats all round. I find it a pleasure to drive and feel very safe whilst doing so, up to now it hasn't given me any cause for concern and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy an inexpensive high wheel pick up.

  6. As a (small) hotel owner - the hotel being small, not me - I can't say that I've noticed a price/margin increase. The commission rate charged by Agoda is unchanged from last year and they still offer a rate parity promise (that their rates are the cheapest).

Have you got some examples of this price increase? Bear in mind that it's the hotel who sets the room rate, not Agoda.

I've stopped using Agoda, found you can only use theyre Price Match Promise if you've already booked with them. I pointed out to them that I could Book the same hotel, same dates, etc. at half theyre advertised price, sent them evedence of the comparison, but they didn't want to know.

  8. Hi, well me and the Missus have just returned from The Amphur Office, went to enquire about me obtaining the much talked about " Yellow Book ", amongst the usual reqest's for appropriate paperworks and I.D's, we were both shocked when we were told I'd have to provide a CRB Check also, to prove as he said " I wasn't in any trouble in my home Country " ( U.K ).

I know that what they require changes from Amphur to Amphur, just wanted to know if anyone else has come across this request and is there a definitve list of requirements i can check on anywhere.

Oh by the way, it's not that I have anything I don't want to disclose, it's just going to be a BORL ACHE...lol,

Going to Bangkok to get it.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Bring your own router, or buy the latest N wireless version in Thailand.

Do not expect top quality from your ISP

    re

Yes, thanks for the reply, I'm already using Netgear Wireless N with the faster Wireless USB Adapter, here in the U.K at the moment, so looks like I'll be bringing it with me. Not really expecting too much from any of the ISP's, Wing N' A Prayer really. :D

    Regards.

  10. Same, same. You'll probably just need to crank in your User ID and Password from whatever Thai ISP you signup with and you'll be online again. If there are any other modem/router setting changes they will be very minor. Then, unless you are one of the lucky ones by living in the right location to get a good (and fast) ISP plan, you'll probably join the chorus of complainers regarding slow international internet speed.

Hi and thanks for the reply, I was thinking of either buying a Modem from the ISP or localy rather than bringing the one I use here in the U.K, just to save on the Baggage Allowance, any thoughts on that.?

Well I'm going to live in my home in The Khon Kaen Region, Amphur Khon San, not holding out too much hope on good and speedy ISP, but suppose I can always come on here and have a good old moan about it, that is unless someone knows better.?....:whistling:

    Regards.

Usually when you sign up with an ISP in Thailand you will get a free modem or modem/router with a one year contract...one year contracts are pretty much the norm--and a free wireless modem/router with an 18 month contract. If you end up with a TOT phone/DSL line, the following web site shows most of their current internet plans...most people will probably be limited to the 4Mb/512Kb plan...all depends on where you live...have your Google Toolbar Translate turned on (note: the Dollar signs should really translate to Baht signs...a common Thai to English Google translate error...the amounts are in Baht): http://www.tot.co.th/index.php?option=com_linkcontent&Itemid=88&categoryid=42&task=detail&detail_id=910〈=th

Thanks for an informative reply, very helpful.

  11. If you are going to be in Khon Kaen you will be able to visit Tuk Com. Selling anything you could ever need for your computer and internet needs.

Including the TP Link wireless modem that works very well for me.

As you say do not hold your breath on a reliable internet connection anywhere. :(

O.K and thanks for the reply.

  12. I made the mistake of buying a TP Link wireless router here and found that it would not hold settings and I had to keep re-setting it. I ended up buying a Netgear from the US and bringing it with me. End of problems.

Hi and thanks for the Info, I'm using a Netgear Wireless Modem Router here in the U.K now, Making me think maybe I should bring it with me, better the Devil I know.

    Regards.

  13. Doe's anyone know of a reasonably reliable ISP in Khon Kaen, specificaly Amphur Khon San Area, is anyone using one there ? what kind of reliabilty and Speeds are you getting.? What about a Dongle for Mobile Internet, possible to receive there or not.?

    Thanks in Advance.

  15. The LAN cable is just the same. You will have to reset the router of course. Not a difficult job.

Hi and thanks for the Info. I was thinking of either, buying a router from the ISP or maybe localy and not bringing mine from here in the U.K.

saves on the weight allowance, any thoughts on this,?

    Regards.

  16. I'll soon be returning to live permanently in LOS and I'll be bringing both my Laptop and Netbook with me, my question is, " Is the Lan Cable Wiring different in Thailand to the U.K ? " I will be wanting to set up a Wireless Modem Router in my home to accomodate those and just wondered, if the wiring is different, how I would go about configuring it.?

Many Thanks in advance to all you Techy's.

  17. I bought my wife according to her. It's sortof what sinsot is all about.

Quote ... You buy my life, I must stay with you .........

If she says it, why shouldn't someone else. What does your wife say?

I've been married to my Amazing Thai Godess for more than twelve years now, we have homes in the U.K as well as in LOS, Before we married She told me " It's easy to buy Love in Thailand, but not so easy to buy a Heart " Thank God we met eachother, she has and still is my inspiration, just wished more on here could have my luck.

  18. Thanks for that, I'll be renewing on a Marriage Visa, been married for 12 years now, had my home in Khon San since 2000, just been using it as a vacation place until now. I have a couple of Thai Bank Accounts and always left sufficient funds in them, I believe I will need to show at 400,000 in at least one of them that's been there for at least 2 months on the first application and 3 months there after, I shall also take with me, originals and copies of my House paperwork, Marriage Certificate, Photo's, letter from my Bank and updated Pass Book, I'll fill in the Application in person whilst there, can you think of anything i've left out that may be useful in my Application, Regards.

  19. I'll soon be returning to live permanently at my home in, Amphur Khon San, Chaiyaphum Province, my question is where do I renew my Non Imm. O Visa. I know there has been major changes in Immigration Office Districts, in the past I used to go to Nongkai, could anyone please inform me has this changed and if so, where to, Many Thanks in Advance.
