  1. If you've had an ED visa to study thai before... You could apply for another ED visa to study English, or anything else for which there are ED visas.
  2. If Cambodia is "proven to work", then I might take my chances there. Are there any reports from people who obtained a tourist visa in cambodia here? What immigration office where they using? Did they need to show return flights, erc.?
  3. Can I apply for a Thailand Pass with an exempt... but enter it on a tourist visa as to safe processing time but still have the tourist visa? Another question, do embassies still process tourist visas in one day? So I apply and pick up my passport with tourist visa the next day? Are there any additional requirements nowadays for a tourist visa or is it like before just fill out form and pay money? Ah that reminds me, what embassy won't ask doe return flights etc. ie. is the easiest to get a tourist visa? I know many questions but it is rather complicated!
  4. Thank you, one of the requirements is "Insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD for medical expenses". Where would I obtain this? Another thing is a SHA Extra+ or AQ Hotel reservation, where can I make such a reservation online? Other than that, seems like I need to have all of these requirements ready 7 days in advance and apply for the Thailand Pass, ok.
  5. Now that my last covid extension is expiring and even agents can't help, I thought to apply for a tourist visa in a neighboring country. I hear vietnam will open up soon? I have not traveled since the pandemic started, been weathering out the situation in LOS, so I'm not sure what would be required for a visa run to vietnam, I am dully vaccinated though. My current extension expires on March 18, ideally I want to fly to Vietnam or another neighboring country, apply for a tourist visa over there, and come back to Thailand all in a timely fashion. I am currently not sure what I need to accomplish this. Insurance, quarantine, etc. ? Any advice on what I should get done now is highly appreciated as I need to leave in about 2 weeks. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the positive report.. lately there have been more reports of people being turned down, glad to see IOs are still actually doing their job.
  7. I've read it several times and also my local office in Samut Prakan told me so, still for OP it should be fine to apply in the coming days.
  8. I'm pretty sure the rule is 45 days, IOs following that rule or not is a different matter.
  9. Seems like immigration does not need a reason to turn people away after the latest announcement. See this thread:
  10. you can apply 45 days in advance, first covid extension was given from the date you apply, following extensions were added in top of your current expiration date. But with the latest changes I would not expect to get another covid extension from immigration.
  11. Can you share more info on that? What are the requirements to enter from Thailand etc. ?
  12. different IOs handle things differently, but in this case I don't think it would make a difference.
  13. I have to say that I've been using this agent for a while now and they always came through with covid extensions, it is quite a shock that they are not able to do it anymore... I hope that there will still be other agents who can still do a covid extension at a reasonable price (~7k THB)
  14. no, no people, what I meant is that their immigration office has suspended issuing covid extensions to their clients that don't meet new regulations. Hopefully there are still other agents who can ????
  15. my agent just informed me that immigration has suspended covid extensions.
  16. Not everybody can. Covid extension is for those who can't. Ofcourse many are using this system to stay in thailand without applying for a "real visa".
  17. don't forget it says upon expiry of the initial 90 days, ie people who have not been able to get their full extension yet. So it might only apply for those people.
  18. so far I have seen this "rumour" only from you. maybe you should stop spreading potentially false information?
  19. Proof? So far nothing conclusive has been reported.
