  1. OK guys, I'm finally here in Thailand now.

Didn't get any instructions regarding the second test, should I inform anyone about the results or just make it in the lab and they proceed with it further somehow?

And one more thing: is the day of arrival a zero day, and you need to be tested on the 5th or 6th day, or day of arrival is 1st day?

    Thanks

my arrival date was the 19th jan,now i have to cancel everything.I just hope tomorrows news will be good

You don't have to cancel it

You can still adjust the QR code sending new flight (change the dates of yours if possible) and Sha plus hotel dates (they moved it for free for me) to the embassy and they will send you updated QR

Took like 2 hours for me for everything

That you need to do if your new flight is not within 72 hours of original booking. If still within- you don't need to adjust the QR code

    Have a ‘back up plan’.....

Apply for Alternative Quarantine booking *(with the same documentation)... this ‘should’ yield an instant approval and QR result.

Then, IF the airline are being difficult on check-in, at least you ‘also’ have an approval and QR code for the Alternative Quarantine and meet their ‘check-box’ requirements.

NOTE: when booking ‘Test and Go’ in Nov...... approval was taking too long... so I applied for AQ just in case, so at least I could get on a plane and get into Thailand and then deal with he issue of ‘what I can do’... I used the 1 night Test & Go hotel booking and still received approval for 7 days AQ !!!!!.....

That little ‘loophole’ to secure a QR code and approval may still be there..... There’s no harm in trying (for peace of mind) it doesn’t displace an existing approval.

I have a flight in 25 hours, there is no more time for plan b ????

    UPDATE

It was Deltas partner Korean Air that refused her. Delta gave her the money back for the flight back to SC and said they would put her on a plane with her Covid test, but did not have a flight going out that would meet the 72 hr Thaipass limit.

    She canceled everything.

    Thanks for the update.

I'm really worried because Test&go is removed from IATA and that is the main guideline for the airlines...

The announcements have been made already (just after lunch, 6th, Thailand time).

Existing Test & Go approvals can enter up until 15th Jan for Test & Go, after that date they can use their approvals for AQ in Bangkok, or Sandbox in Phuket.

Those who applied for entry to Thailand since 22nd Dec and have approval and QR codes for Phuket Sandbox and Alternative quarantine can still travel.

I very much doubt the Airlines can distinguish between Test & Go, Sandbox and Alternative Quarantine QR codes (other than it says that underneath them !).

IF you have a QR code you're in....

of course they can, it is written under the QR code with program is used to enter

And please use https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/world.php , click on Thailand and all restrictions with the program name are there

As well as please check this thread

So whatever official announcement comes out tomorrow, it could be wise to print it out in both English and Thai in order to have something to show at check-in? Even if the airline staff haven't read the announcement, chances are dozens of passengers will, depending of what kind of flight is your first flight. On the other hand, if you are the only one one bound for Thailand on a feeder flight, you're on your own.

But the nail-biting has got to stop somewhere! Otherwise we might as well start worrying about proper aircraft maintenance during this pandemic.

well... I'm going to get some official email from the embassy that test&go is still alive and my qr is valid for this and I'm allowed officially to enter the Kingdom

Don't know what to do else

Never paid much attention to those IATA regulations. Are they binding, and for whom? I'd have thought it's for the airlines to find out what the requirements are at destination.

Exactly, but mostly according to the timatic (iata) regulations airlines check if the passenger is actually allowed to enter the destination country (resulting if they will allow him board the aircraft or not)

Agree ,  I have just been reading the official statement and it does say that all approved and registered applications can enter Thailand in accordance with the approved measures . There are no additional requirements under approved measures bar 1 and that is the 2nd pcr test that will be free of charge . So where in the detail is the 10th of January shown on this official Royal Thai Embassy announcement ? Has that statement been published in the Gazette ? If someone was unaware of the pa-lava and taking the embassy statement as correct guidance , they would be still planning to travel to Thailand in mid January .

That is the announcement that people are waiting for... if they are still allowed to enter with test&go (booked before 22nd December) after 10th January.

    Wow!

I would stay 3 to 6 months in TH. Anyway, if a quarantine is required your holiday reduces at best to one week, at worst to zero.

    I miss Ko Chang though.

If i enter with test&go no qurantine is required (1 day to get PCR not counting)

I would also stay in TH for 3-6 months if i had this option, but you know, family, school, work, business...

    7 minutes ago, JackGats said:

P.S. I assume you have already paid for your stay in Ko Chang.

Paid for everything relying on Test&go program. No cancelation option, can only change dates

I'm in the same boat. If no news later today (in the next few hours) nothing for it but to rebook my flight to end of March and buy myself a flight to Brazil. I also need to juggle my flights with car rentals here in Europe. Can't afford to get dragged along much longer.

And what if they'll stay closed in March? April... and so on ????

My goal is: no matter what to enter Thailand using test&go QR code this or next week

I was under the view that you could move the dates outbound and not bring them forward by 72 hours.  Maybe I have it backwards.  If your within the time frames I say go for it, if not then re-apply.

As they've explained me in the embassy: you do not need to adjust the QR code if your flight is within 72h. If not - you can adjust it providing the documents they've mentioned in the email.

Not sure that can be accomplished, unless you come in under the Sandbox or the AQ program.

    What do you mean?

I have approved QR code for test&go program which local embassy will adjust to the needed dates. All they need is my flight adjusted to the new dates and SHA plus hotel 1 night adjusted to the new dates. Email from the embassy:

    You now have two options

    1. Wait until the official confirmation/explanation of the new rules.

    2. Change your flight and hotel reservation now to arrive in Thailand within 10th January. If you choose this option, please send us a revised flight and revised hotel with new check in date (inclusive of PCR tests) to this email. But kindly note that nothing is yet confirmed. We cannot give any official information about the new rules. The deadline may or may not be imposed. Even if it is imposed, it may or may not be 10th January.

However it does not address those already approved for the Test N Go and who it was initially said would be allowed entry under the program as they had already been approved.  Nothing anywhere yet on those folks having to enter by the 10th or those approvals being canceled.  To much hot air is being spewed and causing many to become flustered.  Hot air by Anutin and a few others sound like gospel to some.  Until its printed I would accept what has been written in the past and those already approved to be let in until it has been posted in the Royal Gazette.  Speculation is just BS and causes heartache for many.

My nerves are giving up, most likely i will rebook everything to enter Thailand before 10th using Test&go program

Everything is still up in the air.  So many variables and so many, upwards of 90,000 could be disenfranchised as they planned for trips later in January and into February with all already paid for and Test N Go approved for the 1 day Q.  We will need to wait until its officially published in the Royal Gazette on Friday after the meeting.

I can't wait till Friday. If it's released on Friday it means I have few hours to rebook tickets/Sha plus and change the QR code for my TP in the embassy (as well as thousands of other people, which is just impossible timewise) to enter Thailand by the 10th...
