Whether it's a Rottweiler, Ridgeback, PitBull, Doberman, German Shephard or whatever, they are all capable of inflicting very serious injuries and therefore need to be trained, socialized and not left to roam free in packs causing chaos in the villages.
Focusing on the breed just reinforces lazy stereotypes and shifts blame from where it should be placed - The Owner.
The statistics say otherwise:

Oh my goodness!
Imagine what might happen if Thai motorists were allowed on the road "without the need to undergo the testing or examinations required to be granted a license in Thailand"

QuoteIt seems that government websites in Thailand are often the target of successful hacker attacks and now it appears the Thailand Pass site is no exception. Reports are surfacing of people receiving a spoof email regarding the Thailand Pass pointing them to malicious content.
It is believed that the email database collected by the Thailand Pass website has been accessed by hackers who are using the list of applicants to spread malware. Users have reported receiving fake emails warning that there is something wrong with their Thailand Pass application and urging them to download an attachment from a link in the email. The test has some telltale warning signs such as poor English and punctuation.

I've been getting +44 calls for about a year, every month 2 or 3. I don't even answer them. I remember a joke some years ago me getting back in the office and my secretary telling my a lady named Elisabeth in England called for you, you have to call her back, this is the number.
So I dialed the number : Buckingham Palace was the answer !
"You had a call from Mr Lyon, ohno. Can you call him back, he needs to speak to you urgently!".
Apparently London Zoo get a lot of calls in early April ...

If the women competed in the same tournaments as the men in let's say dart and snooker, the women wouldn't win a lot of trophies/price money.
Fallon Sherrock holds her own against the men at darts - she got to the final of the Nordic Masters a few months ago where she was beaten by Michael Van Gerwen:

All these Thai policies meet the "Thailand Pass" requirement.
Some of them provide asymptomatic coverage, some don't (the cheapest one, for example). I used Axa, fortunately I didn't have to make a claim.

Thanks for the help, all done and dusted.

I have an old motorbike that hasn't been taxed/insured for over a year.
It has a 2564 sticker on it. Do I now need to pay for a full or part year insurance and tax on this bike? How much should I expect it to cost? I don't know how the system works, a brief explanation would be very helpful ????

Thanks for all the suggestions - I opted for Tawan in Patong in the end because it was nearby. Will check out Prasut next time I am in the area.

Just have to hit the helmet shops. Took me a while to find one that fit.
Good Luck
Indeed. Have been through this process before. Any specific recommendations gratefully accepted ????

I'd like a helmet of at least reasonable quality that fits my big farang head. Somewhere near Patong/Kamala would be preferable if possible. Any ideas?

They have announced special rules for the Pattaya event - each adult swimmer that your jetski hits knocks 15 seconds off your time, and 30 seconds off if you can strike a child or an OAP.

22 minutes ago, SCOTT FITZGERSLD said:i can guess the coming solutions - visitors must buy a special insurance that cover asymptomatic hospitalization. the solution is allways in the way that makes the tourist pay more. but the real outcome is that a growing number of tourists stop seeing thailand as their next destination and forget about it. thailand lose big time.
Insurance covering asymptomatic hospitalization has been available for some time. You would hope that these policies would be paying out as promised ...
This site shows prices for symptomatic and non-symptomatic cover for different ages and timeframes, quite useful. All policies listed are Thai:
https://asq.in.th/thailand-entry-requirements
The reasons given for asymptomatic tourists being "denied coverage" isn't clear, but as you can see from the above, 2 of the 5 policies specifically do not include it, including the cheapest one.

"Turns into Quarantine horror" ... what absolute nonsense and BS. Typical attention grabbing. She is lucky to be in good care and in a hotel quarantine and as for "non-one speaks English" what a load of rubbish. For once the slander laws could serve a useful purpose - she should apologise at once.
"Quarantine horror" is from the "Yahoo News" headline. She isn't quoted anywhere saying that herself.

Are we talking about the same 60 days tourist visa that I came to Thailand with or the STV ?
My tourist visa 60 days ends on 29 th January which will be Saturday when immigration will be closed, I was thinking of going the day earlier (28th) & hoping for another 60 days tourist visa extension if immigration will do that??
I've not heard about the Covid extension until now which could end on 25th January, I'm not sure about visa extension applications so will it be advisable to get an agent involved as I'm looking for 60 more days = 120 days in total.
Any advice will be welcome.
Judging by my recent experience, you can go to Phuket Immigration a week or more early (Friday 22nd Jan or before in your case) and they will give you a 30 day extension for your 60 day Tourist Visa. As another poster said, Patong Immigration is very friendly and convenient.
I think you need to apply for the 30 day extension before you can get a COVID extension.

How do you explain the many Filipino teachers in Thailand? They are not what a native English speaker should look like.
Easy to explain. They get paid less money.

How do you know that they aren't reading a book on their iPad/phone/device?
Do you go walk round the whole coffee shop staring at people's screens and demanding to know why they aren't reading Western literature?
After all, it's not as if you'd be able to read anything in Thai ????

That's an interesting possibility, DrJack. I'm not aware of reports of Phuket Immigration turning down COVID extensions, so since this would be my first one I am inclined to go down there early and see if luck is on my side.

Obtain your covid extension prior to Jan 25.
Your 60 day permit should be dated from any existing permission of stay. In your case early Feb.
Don't even consider waiting till after Jan 25.
That seems like solid advice. I was sure I read somewhere on this forum that immigration might just add 60 days to the date that you applied for the COVID extension, and ignore any time remaining on your visa?
That could of course have been nonsense ???? What you say makes more sense to me.
