Some years ago I was employed by an insurance company as a contract programmer. There was very little for me to do so I spent a lot of time writing a program for windows which canculated the time between two dates and times.
It is for Windows and holds a single string such as 'I have now been a non smoker for:' and then works out the time between the stored date and today so it will say '7 weeks, 4 hours 10 minutes 3 seconds'.
It was originally written for calculating the countdown to a departure date, I used to go to India about twice a year, but it works on dates in the future just as well.
