No way! I don’t believe you…. You actually don’t think that the 300,000 THB second hand old Jap car isn’t the absolute best and the one and only option when buying a car in Thailand? Wow! Am I dreaming? This is a unique moment!! ???????? Now, in all seriousness. Get a grasp, my post isn’t about what I can or can’t afford, and neither is it to mock those who can only afford a Toyota. My post is to mock those who bash everyone who doesn’t buy what they think is the only appropriate thing to drive in Thailand (5 year old, cheap jap car). And so they will accuse you of many weird things for the mere fact of buying something they don’t recommend. Check the “Motoring Forum” for many such examples of this occurrence.

RIP And then you all cheap charlies tell me I'm crazy for buying a Mercedes-Benz and should instead buy a 300,000 THB second hand crappy Toyota or Mazda or whatever, cuz buying a Mercedes, specially here in Thailand is a waste of money???? Look at the Mazda in the picture for god's sake. If that farang had spent some more money on buying an S-Class (for example) maybe he'd be alive today....

What are our options?
alextrat1966 replied to alextrat1966's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is indeed very solid advice! I'll try asking some more agents, and if not then definitely we will need to do some tourism for a few days (which I preferred not to, due to the Test & Go hassles, but if there's no other choice... ????♂️) Cheers mate! -
Crashing your car against the restaurant where your wife works in revenge, is simply having mental problems. Nothing to do with what you wrote initially. Then, relationships take a lot of effort, perseverance and a lot of putting up with each other. If during the first fight where either says “break up”, you “face the truth” and “walk away”, then surely you are a loser.

I know that the rules for Covid extension have changed. But I wonder if her being a Chinese citizen will have a different outcome provided that Chinese citizens really can’t go home as you need to apply for authorization from the embassy which takes over 28 days and very scarce flight tickets which go over $10,000 USD. I’ve tried asking but no one knows. -
Sure, everyone has the right not to take the vaccine. But so do business owners have the right not to let unvaccinated people enter their businesses, or fly aboard their airplanes, and so do countries have the right not to let the unvaccinated enter. Any choice you make in life, has consequences (no matter in regards to vaccines or not). If you freely make a choice, you must manly take the consequences.

So essentially, my wife, who had (still has) a Non-B (work visa + work permit) got tired of her job and quit it. Now, by the end of February she has to go with her former employer to have the work permit and the work visa canceled. What can we do to stay here for a few more months? 1. I know Thai Elite Visa, very nice, but we're only interested in a few more months. 1 year as absolute maximum. So obviously makes no sense to pay for 5 years. 2. Impossible to get COVID extensions now provided she is on Non-B atm. 3. Retirement is impossible, because neither of us are 50. Far from it. Funds are not a problem, in any shape or form if anyone knows the person (agent) who can work out something. Any suggestions?

work permit cancelled?

Your marriage costs you only 1900 baht a year? What's your secret?! When I grow up, I want to be like you ???? -
Well you claim the Brits give us farang a bad name here in Thailand. But as far as I can see it’s the Americans bringing their ridiculous freedom defending bs rhetorics of not wearing masks and not taking the vaccines that gives us all a bad name in the eyes of Thai people. Not the Brits’ fault particularly.

Anutin latest: Praises himself to the skies for saving Thailand
alextrat1966 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Same thing my man. Maybe you think that because we are White we get a free pass to bash Thais and bring stereotypes upon them every time some random bad Thai guy does something bad. But then when Thais like Anutin do the same to us, we get very offended. Once again, hypocrisy at its best. -

No, I didn't. It sure is the same. If because a crazy Thai kills a farang out of nothing then suddenly all Thais are violent and blah blah blah, then why wouldn't all farangs be dirty provided there's quite a lot of dirty, stinky, non mask wearing farangs in Thailand? Same logic. -

Is it not the same thing as when a crazy Thai killed that Brit with a scythe in Kanchanaburi and you all started bashing Thais, Thai culture, their problems, blah blah… I can see no difference. Just hypocrisy. -

Not really. In Western democracies you vote from a few candidates which are there. 1. Because they have a lot of money (or supporters who give them a lot of money to appear on TV, etc etc). 2. Because they have powerful supporters. It's a lie that anyone could run for president. "anyone" wouldn't get anywhere running for president in the West. The powerful select those candidates, and the public votes, often times not who they like, but who they consider is the worst. Anyway, this is not a topic about how democracy works in the West or in Thailand or anywhere else. This is about COVID19, and yes, Thailand is years light ahead of the West, specially the US when it comes to handling of the pandemic. Be it Anutin, or whoever, they deserve praise, because they have done a great job. More or less containing the virus while not fully closing the country. -
1 Year Old Condo
alextrat1966 replied to Pravda's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Buying a condo (or any real estate for that matter) is an investment, and one of the best actually. (Obviously you have to carefully study what you're buying - but real estate as a concept is one of the best investments). Besides, if your money earns monthly only as much as renting a sea view condo is worth.... then you clearly wouldn't have enough to buy a condo. -
lololol, having lived in Spain and China, I can tell you the fact that the horn is seldom used in Thailand feels amazing. Flashing the lights most of the time does the same job without giving you a headache... As for the meals, yeah, that is the normal time for having dinner 9-10 pm, and so the normal time for lunch is 2-3pm.
