It's got nothing to do with previously being on a volunteer visa specifically, it has to do with the change making it so only those on a tourist visa can get another extension.

The requirements of this visa shows that not only do they not know or understand who the average digital nomad would be, but that they also wouldn't want them here anyway. Absolute idiocy with these visas and their requirements.

Every single person they allow into the country is vetted, as well as double jabbed. This is exactly what they want. Every single one that tests positive will be forced to undergo a 10 day minimum stay in a hospital which costs around 10,000 baht a day. This is also not including the government approved hotels they had to stay in before, as well as the tests that had to be paid for as well. This is just another racket to extort foreigners that visit this country.
