The immigration office might give you the 60-day extension to visit your son, based on the birth certificate and both the child and the mother being with you. That is the absolute maximum you can expect.
Some agents have said they can extend this visa for one year for around 40,000 Baht. Is this not a regular method? -

What is the age of your son? Are you on good terms with the mother?
If you can legalise your status as the boy's father, and have 400,000 baht in a Thai bank account in your name only, receiving an extension of your permission to stay based on your Thai son is doable.
age is 1 and yes our relationship is good.
I am not legal father so i cant extend my visa?

First you have to be the legal Father.
Being named on the birth certificate is not enough.

If I only have my name on birth certificate, not legal father, how many days i can extend?

Not interested in obtaining a 12 month extension to the non O along with a multiple entry reentry permit?
Really interested in 12month extension... but is this possible for me? I only have birth certificate(my name on it), not married with Thai wife or don't have custody as a father.
-
As a father of my thai son I can get dependent non o , but its single entry visa for 90 days.but I have to go out of Thailand sometimes. Im curious, can I get that visa for example … 6 times a year without problem?

is there online could buy Grandaddy purple and "girl scout cookies" with decent price?
Also I'm looking for edibles, I prefer eating.

And... which is the cheapest store ?

Maybe I could get a 1 year non-o visa multiple as a father after finished getting custody.

You will need to filing a petition to the family court and the process will take about 3-6 months (you have to go for interviews with the social worker and go to court for the court hearing)
Do I need to hire a lawyer? Is it troublesome getting whole process done ... ?

Child legitimization under 7 years old, I want to hear from someone who had already experienced.
-
Sorry I was wrong little bit, It should have been called recognition, not custody. In order to get a passport in my country, I need a document from the Thai court ruling that I have recognized my son as my own child.

I was quite shocked to hear the lawyer's price of 200000 baht. I read on another topic that it was all done for 30000, but that was about ten years ago. I think it was a simple trial with no dispute with mother. I am thinking of looking for a local lawyer in Udon Thani instead of looking in Bangkok.

Does he want sole custody ?
Seems like he wants sole custody , and that's unlikely to happen
Ah not sole... 50% is ok

As you are not married, there is question as to whether or not you are listed on the Thai Birth Certificate - this is the first thing to find out.
IF not, you need to get yourself listed on the Birth Certificate as the father.
Secondly, is the Mother ‘open’ to you being listed on the Birth Certificate (if you are not not already on it).
And, finally... Is the mother ‘open’ to you having custody ? i.e. is sole custody likely to be contested by the mother?
Yes My name is already on the certificate, Mother agreed with me completely with no dispute, not sole custody, 50-50 is enough

Go to family service in UT, and ask them. They would probably just repeat to you what I wrote (never going to happen) in this reply in a different thread.

Do you WANT custody, or just to be listed as father on birth certificate, which should have already been done.
My name is already on the certificate, want to get custody, not sole. Mother agreed with me completely with no dispute.

How to get custody quickly and not expensive...
I have a child with a Thai woman whom I am not married to, and he is 0 years old.
I would like to obtain custody of the child as the father through a court case.
I consulted three lawyer and
the most expensive cost was 200,000 baht,
70,000 baht at the cheapest place.
Is there any way to get a lower price?
Son was born in Udon Thani. Is it cheaper to hire a lawyer in Udon Thani?

You can apply for a single entry non-o visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos with only your Thai child's birth certificate that show you as the father.
To apply at immigration you would need to have your parenthood legalized unless you are married to your child's mother.
Thank you ubonjoe, is it 3-month single entry visa? How about 1-year multiple?
-
Can I get a non-O-immigrant dependent visa with only a birth certificate, even if I do not have custody? Also, should it be taken in Laos Vientiane not in Thailand?
-
If I have to wait for 3-4month to complete judgement, what type of visa can I have? 60days tourist visa is not enough, can I get non-o-immigrant dependent visa as a father before judgement???

You could apply for a non-o visa and a extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai.
If not married to the child's mother you would need to legitimize your parenthood of your child to apply for the extension of stay.
Thank you

Yes... IF specific criteria are met: You are the legal parent (i.e. You are named as the father on the Birth Certificate).
You can apply for a 90 day Non-Immigrant Type O Visa based on being a parent of a Thai Child.
You’ll need to provide a Bank Statement (showing funds)... in the application in your home country, I’m not sure of minimum Balance at this point.
Once in country, you can apply for an Extension of Stay based on your Non-Immigration O, Parent of a Thai Child status - you’ll need to show at least 400,000 baht in a Thai Bank account (on the day of application - for this ‘parent visa’ there is no need to season the money).
Thank you Richard.

If someone has a kid with Thai national but unmarried, he/she could get a dependent visa?
Non o visa extend to live with my son(not married)
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

This is not precisely the same topic. What I want to know is whether it's possible to easily obtain a one-year visa on my own without going through an agent if I legalize it. Additionally, agents claim that just a birth certificate is enough to get a one-year visa.
