  1. Another success story, with some info on the data that I submitted as a part of my application.

I submitted my Thailand Pass application online from the USA on Tuesday, Nov 9th, at about 11:30am for upcoming travel on Nov 22nd.

For my vaccination info, I only have the CDC paper card w/o a QR code (Pfizer vaccination shots received at Walgreens), so I used the same jpg file of the entire CDC vaccination card for dose 1 and dose 2 entries.  I did add an extra line at the bottom of the jpg showing my USA Passport number.

For my medical insurance, I provided a screen shot (or more specifically, a jpg converted from a saved pdf) of my coverage description web page on my medical insurance provider's web site.  The information included my max coverage for both inpatient and outpatient, as well as coverage period.  I did not include a letter from my medical insurance provider, and the information that I provided did not include any specific reference to COVID coverage (although it is indeed fully covered with my plan).

The hotel reservation information that I provided was from Agoda, and it included a specific reference to an included RT-PCR test.

I received my approval and QR code at 2am on Sunday, Nov 14th.

    Ready to go!

OK, was able to get to the form, and after filling it out and submitting it I received this notice indicating that they are no longer accepting applications....

fyi, this morning at 9 am is supposed to be the opening of a new round of COVID vaccination appointment registrations for foreign nationals age 60 and above and those with chronic medical conditions via a website of Phyathai II hospital in Bangkok...

    "Phyathai 2 Hospital

    Pre-registration: 12-16 July from 09.00-12.00 hours only (via phyathai2international.com)

Vaccination Period: 19-30 July 2021 (except weekends)"

I had trouble accessing the website just now, getting browser security errors, before finally being able to get thru, and seeing the registration notice info still listed there on the hospital's website.

    https://phyathai2international.com/

However, I also noticed the now updates-only government Intervac website has an update saying that COVID vaccine registrations at Samitivej Hospital in BKK already have been closed.

"Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital (The hospital has fully booked. The next pre-registration will be open in August)"

    https://www.thailandintervac.com/

I was able to get to the home page after quite a few page refreshes, but it seems there is still only the notice for registration availability, with no link to actually register.

  4. As of this morning all of the fields are working for input, but when I hit save and then go back in to Edit again to check, the Nationality, Organization, Province, District, Subdistrict and Insurance related fields go back to blank.

The Intervac site is still open tonight and it appears they are fixing the glitches.  A couple of the drop down menus are now working properly (Nationality and Province).  Once they fix the other two (District and sub district) it should be good to go.  Keep an eye on it ????

  5. I get the same information, but when I download the vaccination appointment the document does have all my correct information - DOB, local address, age, etc.

I'm thinking that folks with a Bangkok address are able to book now, but perhaps those located in Chonburi cannot now, but will be able to sometime in the future once the two Chonburi health facilities, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya and Bangrak Vaccination and Health Center, actually receive allocations of the vaccine.

Can not get an actual date it keeps telling me to reload, and each time I re-enter the needed information and this is all I keep getting....so frustrating

  6.

Tried to register via the Intervac portal with a Chonburi address, "retired" as organization, received the 1970 date as well.  Went back in and revised by address to a Bangkok address, same result, no choice for hospital given when you click on the Check Eligibility button.  Changed my address back to Chonburi and will wait to see if there is any additional clarification in the future.

I'm wondering if the folks who have successfully received an appointment via Intervac initially entered a Bangkok address.

In the meantime, over the weekend I booked a trip back to the US at the end of July to get vaccinated and to spend some time visiting family and friends.  I'm fortunate to have the means to do it, so time to just get it done.

Yet Thai immigration hasn't bothered to create an online queue system since years. Not even during the pandemic they could be rushed to do so.

Instead they let those poor staff there work OT daily until 7 or 8pm.

Just get that, even if you just want to ask someone in person at the German Embassy, you need to book a timeslot for an appointment. No phone calls, no walk-ins.

I've used the QueQ phone app for my last several appointments at the Chonburi immigration office.  You can book an appointment on a specific day and time up to a week ahead.  You just show up to the office, click "confirm" on your appointment notice in the app and your queue number pops up in the app.  I then walk past the 30-50 people in the queue waiting outside in the heat who haven't made a prior appointment online, show the staff my queue number on my phone and walk straight to the appropriate immigration counter.   No waiting in lines outside, minimized time spent inside in the crowded immigration counter area.

The app certainly doesn't solve the problem that you've pointed out for the office staff and the long walk in queues that they deal with every day, you make a very good point, but it does make the appointment process very efficient and easy for foreigners who use it.

The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) briefing in English on Friday or Saturday mentioned that a list of "designated" hospitals will be published soon.   As usual, the comment was ambiguous as to WHEN  the list will actually be published or other specifics, so I guess we just have to keep checking the daily CCSA briefings to find out.

IMO, the daily Official CCSA briefings in English are really the only reliable source of "official" information.  The CCSA spokesman is very fluent in English and presents information clearly and concisely.  If information is not announced on the CCSA daily briefings then it should not be spread here on the forum as it only makes an already confusing situation even more so.

The official source of information in English that is most helpful is probably The PR Thai Government facebook page

The easiest way to see the daily CCSA briefings in English is through the ThaiPBS YouTube channel, and clicking on this link will show the playlist that includes the latest updates.

The Government Public Relations Department of the Office of the Prime Minister is another source of "official" real time press releases.

Thanks for the link to the daily CCSA briefings in English.  Just listened to today's briefing and thought it was well done and helpful.

  9. The facebook page linked below has the info in the attached screenshot, as well as a QR code to scan which will bring you to a google doc form to fill out.  I was able to submit the form using just my passport number.  Supposedly, someone will call you back to confirm an appointment.  If that happens i'll provide an update.

Sinovac vaccine, for Pattaya area Bangkok Pattaya Hospital is the location.

  10. Here's a quote from the WHO's website that references overall efficacy rate and some additional details for Sinopharm.  Link to article also included.

"WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) has also completed its review of the vaccine. On the basis of all available evidence, WHO recommends the vaccine for adults 18 years and older, in a two-dose schedule with a spacing of three to four weeks. Vaccine efficacy for symptomatic and hospitalized disease was estimated to be 79%, all age groups combined.

Few older adults (over 60 years) were enrolled in clinical trials, so efficacy could not be estimated in this age group.  Nevertheless, WHO is not recommending an upper age limit for the vaccine because preliminary data and supportive immunogenicity data suggest the vaccine is likely to have a protective effect in older persons.  There is no theoretical reason to believe that the vaccine has a different safety profile in older and younger populations.  WHO therefore recommends that countries using the vaccine in older age groups conduct safety and effectiveness monitoring to make the recommendation more robust."

  11. Hi folks - thanks for your replies.  I was afraid that I was indeed wrong and just being too paranoid and that has proven to be the case.   I'm still not sure why the clock wouldn't restart when you submit all the paperwork for an extension of stay and wish the relationship between 90 day reporting and one year extensions were a bit more clear, but I'm glad I understand how this works now.  And kudos to the Chonburi office once again.

Thanks again for your assistance, much appreciated.
