    The sport windshield cost 3.400thb

Also an good idea to order a spare smartkey as if lost or broken the delivery time is up to 2 weeks - it cost only 950thb so better to have it availbale at home.

When it comes to Insurance it exist to my knowledge only 2 for the Motorbike/Scooter:

    (1) Compulsory - the very basic which are obligatoric cost 1.200thb/year

    (2) 1st Class cost 7.928thb/year (AXA) and comes on the topp of the compulsory (total 9.128thb/year)

Thanks man, I'll do everything you suggested, really appreciate it.

  2. I'm in a situation that I need to stay in Thailand for 6 more months after my visa exempt + 60 days extnesion based on my child expires. After this me and my family will be moving back to EU.

Just some quick background which might or might not be relevant, I've been visiting Thailand for the past 9 years for 6-9 months a year with TV, mostly obtained at my home country. Now I'm on a new passport and only stamps in it are one visa exemption that I got in august and one extension for 60 days based on my child.

Now to my questions, could I just take a flight to singapore two times and extend visa exempts I get when I enter Thailand with 60 days each and get 6 more months this way? Would 3 consecutive visa exempts cause a problem? I would fly from Koh Samui and back to Samui again if that makes any difference. For me it's not about the money, and I would prefer doing it this way as I like to go out from Thailand on mini hollidays and for some shopping.

With non-o I would need to leave the country anyway two times, once to obtain the visa and then after 60 days extension one more time as the total would only be 5 months.

One last question, if its not doable with visa extensions and I have to get a visa, where except for Penang can I go where they have agents that could do it for me as I have no problem paying for this service.

    Thanks guys!

  3. Having twice been caught out @ Svensens this month I thought i'd post a general warning:

    1. Special offers: A couple of weeks ago I had one that contained around a third of the glass full of dry chocolate powder, masking the fact that the remainder was a little light in content. My wife observed similar with hers.

    2. Menu-v-reality: During a later trip I ordered an off the peg sundae that clearly showed 2x normal <billiard ball> sized scoops in the menu, yet only had one <golfball> sized scoop when it arrived.

    Twice bitten...

I stopped going there when they started charging for water. Sometimes the little things do make a difference!

They started charging for water because people were complaining about quality of the water they were serving for free, so they just stopped serving it and start selling bottled water instead.

  4. They can still abuse the system, but that will cost a lot, because the have to change flight every time..

Good thinking of the immigration, and the alarm bell will ring for abusing smile.png

I listen again the video and am now unsure about this point:

the guy just asked to "bring an onward or return ticket", but didn't say anything about "within 30 days".

I am not sure where ThaiVisa took this "30 days" from ??

    This was the official

you are traveling on visa-exempt or with a tourist visa, bring these documents for your extension:

    1. Your onward flight ticket or eTicket out of Thailand within the 30 days

    2. Minimum 10,000 Baht, or rather 20,000 Baht

    3. Hotel booking confirmation - and if you have it, your itinerary

    4. One photo, passport sized.

    5. Application fee, 1,900 Baht

Why would you need to show a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days if you got tourist visa thats valid for at least 60 days? Makes no sense, number 1 probebly is just for visa exempt otherwise it would be just ridicolous, but you probebly have to show ticket out of Thailand for tourist visa as well just not within 30 days.

  5. Stanley,

From what you've already written, I assume you are outside Thailand ATM

Once you join Thai elite, on what visa are you arriving into Thailand on? How does the 5 year visa get entered into your passport I guess is the question I'm asking.

I wonder for a person that's already in the country, if they merely meet the Thai elite staff and goto Immi in Chaengwattana.....or at the airport....or something like that.

I will speak to my friend next week and help her contact TE directly after that.

Maybe you already know the answer to this, if not, DO NOT make any more enquiries on my behalf, at least as you've already been very helpful.......as has wordchild & co.

I have already joined Thailand Elite and I am arriving on no visa at all. A Thailand Elite staff member is meeting me at my airplane gate in Bangkok to give me my TE card and take me to immigration at the airport where they will put the 5 year visa in my passport.

I have e-mailed TE to ask what the process is for a person who is already in Thailand and will post when I know.

Dont you have to have a visa in your passport to board the plane if your return flight is more then 30 days after you land? Not sure about this, I'm just asking as I'll probebly buy this card as well.

  6. I've been with my Thai girlfriend for about 4 years and I'm going to buy a house here with her help. My girlfriend works and she can take a loan from the bank. She's going to take a loan for 40% and me paying 60% of the house cost. So the house has to be in her name. My question is can I make a lease agreement even though the house is not fully paid for. Also is this a good option to safeguard my self? Is there other better options? I've read about usufruct, is this better option?

If I was to sell the house is it easy to terminate lease or usufruct?

    Thanks

  7. Eataly Boutique near PTT station on Mae Nam side of Fisherman's Village turn off has imported from Italy frozen cakes. Must be 12 kinds, the one I've tried so far was really good! For coffee, the guitar shop near the Dusit resort in Mae Nam has a little coffee shop with very nice freshly roasted and ground Chiang Mai coffee drinks. Whole beans also available, very nice people.

I'm on the lookout for fresh roasted coffee beans, I passed today the guitar shop just after Honda shop coming from bophut but all I saw was guitars in that shop. I only looked from outside though. Where exactly is this place that you talk about?

If anyone knows where else I can get fresh roasted whole beans of coffee I would really apreciate it.

    Thanks.

  8. Ok guys thanks for the advice, I'm defintily running away from the first type of condo.

What about the other one that I can have in Thai company name? Would that be something to look for? I know there are condos that are ownable in my own name but there aren't any available where I'm at that I like. Any advice for this one which could be set up in a Thai company?

Thanks once again for answering my pretty boring questions.

  9. I've read that most of the leasholds are going to be very hard to renew after intial 30 years of lease. I've been offered an appartment where leasehold comes with a share of the freehold, and the owners control the company which the land sits in and we all lease our apartments from the company. So with this type of a set up is it going to be easy to renew the lease after 30 years or is there something more to it where I can walk into something unpleasent?

    Thanks for any help!

  10. I was there but they only had second hand scales, I need a knew one but thanks for the answer.

With the sort of accuracy you want what are you weighting it's sure not meat?

I'm trying to get some consistency with my espresso shots wich I'm not getting now when not meassuring the dose that I put in the portafilter. Sometimes shots are great sometimes average and sometimes terribad. Theres many variables when making espresso so I want to know how much I put in each dose and I know whats usually recomended for one shot. One gram less or more is a lot when trying to make great espresso.

Might sound little bit obsessive but if you've been drinking great espresso you probebly know just how much difference there could be from different exatraction methods of espresso shots.
