Ok, let's try it like that: If the woman would be a guy, and if that guy would have behaved like her, would you have the same opinion?

When I was young my parents told me not to get in any fight and don't hit anybody. They didn't tell me something like you can/should fight with guys but not with women.

There are some sweet and nice women. But there are also some aggressive bitches. I see no reason to treat them different to an aggressive guy.

It wasn't a guy, it was a woman. What a useless hypothtical. Self defense only applies if you're if you're being threatened with bodily harm or death. That doesn't apply here. Some aggressive bitches? Really? If you don't like the way a woman acts, you break her jaw and put her in the hospital? Nice to know.

I can tell you for a fact that if this happened in Japan, which so many members of this forum seem to like for it peace and harmony, you'd easily get five years in jail. I'm just stunned by the level of misogyny on this board.

    She deserved it.

Let her cry and think about what she did wrong.

She didn't deserve it. What a statement. Her slap hardly touched him (and we don't know what he said to her to provoke it) but nevertheless he punched her as hard as he could  and strolled off leaving her unconcious on the ground. This is aggravated assault, a felony. His job is to protect the tenants not beat them up. She could have died while he was ignoring her. He should be in jail.  I can't believe anybody would be so callous as to make such a remark.

Had very major problems either huge amts of wax for years until about 30 years ago I use cotton wool buds gently to clean out water after a shower. My ears are 100% clean now all the time. I know buds are not recommended anymore but I swear by them

Buds aren't recommended and if you're not careful they will drive the wax in further. The cotton tip can even come off and lodge in your ear (it happened to me). They are best for just cleaning the outer ear.

However, if you have an adjustable shower head and put it on the strongest setting, you can use it to flush out the ear. Just direct the flow into the ear. It might take a few attempts though.

Well, it's a base (alkaline) actually.  But indeed it could be nasty.  Think of blocked loo pipe cleaner >> similar kind of chemical.

In its pure form, it's neutral. But in solution, the ph is generally around 4 or 5. So it's a weak acid. This is why most dentists don't recommend using it as a mouthwash. It's also used to white teethen as well as bleach hair, of course. By the way, it can also cure herpes.

And the low currency exchange is only when you choose the wrong exchange option.

It also depends on the card that you're using. I know that Citibank used to incorporate a 1 percent fee into the exchange rate with the standard debit card.  In fact, it's often hard to know just how much you're being charged.

hydrogen peroxide from pharmacy or 7/11. about 50 baht. :jap:

The problem with hydrogen peroxide is that it doesn't really penetrate very far if the wax runs deep or is impacted. Plus, you're putting an acid in your ear, so you don't want to do it on a regular basis.

    Did it make any difference?

Did you hear better or not really?

You can do it yourself. Get a plastic syringe at a pharmacy, fill it with warm water, inject it into the ear. Tilt the head and hold it there for five or ten minutes.

  8. The problem is traveling to a major market in Pattaya is time-consuming and you can't carry that much, certainly not on the baht bus. Most condos don't have a greal deal of storage space in the kitchen either. This necessitates visiting a store several times a week, I find.  But I suppose in Thailand cooking is not a priority for most people. I find eating out all the time exhausting, however.

Citibank's operation here is a branch of the US corporation and not a subsidiary or joint venture. Accountholders therefore have recourse to Citibank US's balance sheet and Citibank is rated A+ by Standard & Poor's.

Some may say it isn't important because the Thai government will insure deposits up to 1 million baht, but the Thai government's sovereign debt rating of BBB+ is lower than that of Citibank.

That's not true. Citibank Thailand is a separate entity independent of Citibank N.A. While it's classified as a branch, that's a technical classification made by the Bank of Thailand relating to its structure.  It doesn't mean that it is part of the Citibank NA operations.

  10. Normally, I don't like to tip but I'll do it on occasion if I feel it's warranted. For example, I took a Bolt from Pattaya to Bankok for 1100. It was a nice car, new, plenty of leg room, the driver was fast and efficient, he had three phones going charting the route and made good time. So I gave him a tip. It was over two hour journey after all. He seemed surprised.

  11. Given that there are no full-scale grocery stores in Jomtien, just the ubiqutous 7-11s and Tops Dailies, do people living there mainly eat out?  Is there a convenient way to rely on your own cooking if you don't have your own transporation or would you have to take Bolt constantly to one of the major stores?  I'm thinking of transferring there but I wonder if there is a lack of amentities outside the tourist trade.

Inside what ? My tooth? Or the crown ?

He means what the crown is made from: ceramic, ziconia, porcelin, gold or a combination

Do you walk everywhere, if so then it's a long walk for some.

It's 10 baht on the baht bus, a 5 minute bicycle ride, 2 minutes on my PCX etc.

You said that you paid 250 baht for breakfast, take the baht bus for 10 baht, you'll save money.

I only tried it out as a public service to this forum.

    Zing hotel.

Heading uphill on Theppraya from 3rd road on the left is Zing hotel, has sign, I think 179 baht.

I have not been inside, If you go let us know how it is.

I went to the Zing buffet this morning. It was 250 baht. And all I can say is that I won't be going back. It was sort of like a cross between an English breakfast and Thai street food. They had silver dollar pancakes, panang curry, the usual cheap ham and hot dogs, baked beans, toast and jam, fruit juice.

Most of it wasn't very good. Even the coffee was bad. They had one of those automatic machines that supposed to be make various kinds of coffee but they all end up tasting like Red Cap. The two bright spots were the croissants and the egg station. At least the eggs were freshly made.

Similar with True, for a little bit more I also get some Thai TV channels, including some HD, good enough to keep the Mrs happy, and a SIM card with 150 free minute a month that I never use.

    Where are you?

  16. To answer my own question, I checked over at View Talay 2A and found that several providers offer optical fiber (including CAT as one poster mentioned). There was also a company called TMN, I think, and one other. I was told the 3BB service is very spotty, something about how they had touble linking up with the old cables or something.

I can also confirm that fiber optical is available through NT at View Talay 5C and 5D but the tenant might have to install it himself, along with signing a 6-month contract. Odd that landlords choose to avoid the expense, as you would think it would be a selling point.

    Define "best"!

Like: Free flow champagne and you don't care about the price?

Or all you can eat for 200B?

Or what is on your mind?

Value for money. Suppose breakfast is going to be the main meal of the day. So you want something filling you could partake of daily.
