  1. Not sure that teenage boys fighting is a Thai disease. Pretty universal. Firstly, every school has a teacher who has a stick and is known to hit the hardest. Make it a mission to be their friend, and that students know that he / she is your friend. I'm not suggesting that you get that teacher to hit the kids for you, but the possibility is a deterrent and will make your life easier. Secondly, leave the classroom to find someone, and don't go back until you find someone. Your job is to teach. There is nothing to be gained by wading in.
  2. Any travel on a bike, driving or passenger, normally needs extra insurance. Credit card insurance unlikely to have that, which is why she isn't insured, helmet or not, licence or not. Regards career break, she could be in a profession like a nurse or teacher, or basic work, where she could pick up a job fairly easily when she goes back. More to life than working for 40 years.
  3. I said before that a Bkk Bank branch had said it is possible to register if you have a pink card. After 2 hours in 2 different banks today I worked out that theoretically it is, as the the number on your pink card would be recognized by NDID. However, banks cannot apply the 16 digit pink card number to your account, as the only way to create an account with that is using the chip, not by manually inputting the 16 digit number. The pink card has no chip for some reason, so the foreigners account can only use the passport, and is therefore not part of NDID. This explanation doesn't really help, but that's the situation.
