  1. Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea how I can get a green book for my beloved Honda, Steed 400.

I have had this bike now for the last 12 years, I have tried several times to get a Green book through a Big Bike shop and paid a lot of money but still no green book.

So I have parked it up in Isan for the last few years and with me returning to Thailand soon I would dearly like to get it legally registered.

What is the easiest way to get this done and is it possible?

    Cheers for any advice.

I assume you applied for a non-o visa to visit you wife.

That is an error on the e visa website. It should only be 20k baht or the equivalent of it in pounds in a bank account.

Cheers for that, I feel like I am up the creek without a paddle, Just booked the ticket till March I need a visa for 4 months. My Son is growing up, and the family have not seen him in all these years due to the flu virus. As said, I normally get an o visa if I stay 6 months. Can I show a credit card with a value of 10K I do not have the 400000B  in the bank have a reasonable income. What alternatives if I want to stay 4 months cheers

  3. Hi all, A little advice.

I used to go to Hull consulate for my married "o" visa for a month or two to visit my wife's family in Sakhon, a simple job.

However now I see that when I apply online for the same visa "o" Non-resident I am asked for 10,000 pounds in the bank?

Anyone have any advice on this, am I applying for the correct visa, has it changed.

We're intending to stay with the family for some 4 months, would the O visa be the correct one to apply for.

    Cheers for any help

No 1 bar has been closed for atleast 4-5 years. Dave was in khon kaen in Feb on a flying visit now resides in Ireland where he had heart surgery. In good health I may state. I know Dave and used to drink there occasionally. It was never trashed by bikers. He was totally divorced from his wife, ripped him off he said

Cheers, sad to hear Noi did that to him after all he did for her and daughter, good to hear he is well and about. Any contact email for him would be appreciated. Cheers

Very nice guy. Dave from memory. Last time I saw him he was going back to the UK for medical treatment, possibly 3 or 4 years ago. As far as I know he never came back. Number one bar shut at least 5 years ago and as far as I know never opened again

Cheers for that, hope he is ok. I was back in 2018 and none even heard of No1 Bar, sad how time changes everything. The Bar was very popular since 2005 when it opened with many regulars. Do you know if his wife went with him, as I know he had some land out on the Kalasin road. Heads up

  6. Some years back there was a Bar in Khon Kaen called No1 Bar run by a New Zealand Scotsman called Dave.

Does anyone know if Dave opened another bar or just moved out of town?

Any info would be appreciated as I would like to look him up again, long time old pal since he opened the bar in 2005

Maybe someone remembers the Bar, as it was very popular for a long time with many regulars.

    Cheers

Not too many in Sakhon Nakhon, either.

Yeh, Well one would expect that in Thailand you are correct but not in the UK, you see for a Thai person's perspective living in the UK they would naturally expect to see  Englishmen not Somali or Nigerian and Pakistani. A little confusing for Thais that still have resect for their country and culture. Hard for the average westerner to comprehend that have been indoctrinated with diversity.

  8. Hi All,

I am thinking of a permanent move back to Thailand to some land given to my son by the wife's family.

I have live in Khon Kaen before for some time and realise prices have gone up in the land of smiles but compared to the UK and the way things are going I do feel I will be better off in Thailand. As an example for the costs, see below my out goings.

Council Tax gone up to £140.00 PM

    Water no meter     £87.00 pm

    Gas and Electric £490.00

Internet 100mb £70 pm   could get cheaper Virgin

    House Insurance £100.00 pm

I live in Rotherham, so food is relatively cheap plus we grow our own veg however the wife from Sakhon Nakhon is fed up says she never sees a white person pass the gate.

So we have decided to sell up but a smaller house in the UK and move to Thailand

Hope this helps with the comparison

  9. The OP looses all credibility with a statement like "A mogul who does not pay his taxes"

The ex President as far as I know never took a $ in wages all the time in office. Second I would not profess to know much about his taxes, but you can be assured that he has paid taxes, or he would not have been in Office as with Russian collusion BS that they drummed up,

Tesco no Tax or little Apple no taxes Amazon the list is endless.

You think developers are going to be focused on what could happen 10,20 or 30 years from now? Their business cycle is usually 18 months, then they walk away with their profits. If they get it wrong, it is years before anyone catches up.

Florida is one of the most vulnerable parts of America to hurricanes, which are only going to get more intense, obeying the First Law of Thermodynamics.

While it is fiction, I suggest you read "Condominium" by John D. MacDonald. It's a good look at the very real weaknesses of transient land in the Florida Keys. One of America's greatest authors.

Banks are lending over 25 years, they would not do that if seas were going to rise in the near future

Back in September last year I purchased 12 x 340W Jinyuan poly panels @ 2,890 Baht a pop, from Global House.

I should have bought more, prices are waaay up since then ????

Wow, a good price yes the price has gone up a lot they also added a price hike in the UK mainly a tax.

What size (Watts) inverter, are you looking for grid-tie, off-grid or hybrid?

250W panels are pretty small these days, you get better value with the larger panels.

Prices are a bit high at present, covid etc etc, a Sunergy 410W mono is 5,190 retail at Global House. Lazada suppliers are cheaper but often are nil-stock.

  13. I am so confused, my daughter is in the US, and she tells me that the banks are lending money to the tune of Trillions for real state development on the Florida Coast. Now if you look at the area on Google Maps you will see that all of that area  where they are developing is only 1 to 2 Meter above sea level. Do they know something we don't? Oh, not to mention Bill Gates is buying up all the farmland in the US, he now owns more farm land that any other individual.

  14. Definition of a "Load Shark" When I married my Thai lady way back in 2000 I  found she was lending money wow I was shocked, and knew what a money Lender was a "shark" Well after I found that she only charged 2% on her loans and the banks foreclosing on so many I began to wonder who the real sharks were. I found my good lady was in fact helping the community, rather than robbing them. Now this does not apply to all, but one has to be careful as to what is real and what is not real in the World of deception. It certainly isn't in the bank's interest to say anything good about the opposition. Just my thoughts on the matter, as I have fond the banks to be the bigger Loan Sharks.
