  1. I'm under the impression that they welcome you at the airport when you arrive and just guide you to the VIP immigration lane, and you don't have to wait in line, but how can they guarantee entry unless they are IO's as well 😕 I understand things work differently in Thailand but it's still pretty strange.
  2. I'd be interested in this. Can you send me a pm? Many thanks 🙂
  3. So those who are denied entry will only be sent back to their home country, if that's where they directly flew from? If I fly from Finland to Hong Kong, and am allowed in, and from there to Thailand, and Thailand denies my entry, they are not going to send me to my home country but instead, back to Hong Kong?
  4. I wonder if changing the passport would help? I have quite a lot of stamps in my passport but thought changing it would be useless if they can see all the previous entries in their computer anyway.
  5. I guess I would have to go all the way back to Finland, if they denied entry? They wouldn't let me go to a neighboring country or even further, like Japan instead?
  6. Thanks for the replies, everybody 🙂
  7. Hi there, I was wondering if I'll experience any problems coming back to Thailand, considering my history. I was in Thailand between October 2022 and July 2023 (9 months visa exempt) and then again between December 2023 and June 2024 (6 months also visa exempt). The entire covid time I was here in Finland (where I'm from) but I also spent longer periods of time in Thailand between the years 2016 and 2019. Now I've been in Finland for about 4 months. I'm planning to come back to Thailand soon and I was wondering if, with that history, it's safe to fly directly to Suvarnabhumi, or if it's better to first fly somewhere else, like Hong Kong, and continue to Thailand from there? No visa this time either. What do you guys think?
  8. Does anyone know if immigration there is as strict as at BKK/Don Mueang or more understanding like Chiang Mai?
  9. Just rent a ticket from onwardticket.com
  10. I'm in Thailand now. The IO flipped thru my passport and saw the previous stamps, and then asked how long I will be in Thailand, and asked to see my return ticket. I'm glad I bought the onward ticket, because this time it was needed. Anyway, he stamped me in.
  11. Thanks for the responses, everyone!
  12. Hi everyone, I left Thailand early July and have been in Finland since then. I was wondering if it's safe to fly back to Thailand now, after being away from Thailand for about 5 months. Considering that last time I was in Thailand for a longer period of time, what are the chances of being denied entry now? If they deny entry, they'd send me all the way back to Finland? Would love to spend the New Year in Thailand ! I would fly from Helsinki to Suvarnabhumi, straight flight.
  13. It is a serious thread. But then again, I wonder if it makes any sense to do this anymore. If I go to Finland, and come back to Thailand, say, January next year, would it be likely they let me enter without any issues? Obviously it would be better to get a tourist visa next time ????
  14. Only 3 visa exempt entries, not 4. And I am going to do it again. So this time will be the 4th. I've only been outside Thailand for about 2,5 hours during these 8 months. First time for about 1.5 hours in Padang Besar, and the next 2 times in Laos, half an hour each time. I just had one beer (beerlao) on the Laos side, then headed back to Thailand. This time I was planning to stay in Kuala Lumpur overnight. Have to see ????
  15. I'm staying near Bangkok. I've never been to Vietnam so don't know the visa requirements but I've been to Malaysia before and no visa was required. My plan was to fly to Chiang Mai from Kuala Lumpur, but if that's a bad idea, then I think I'll just maybe stay in Malaysia for a while, and go back to Finland. I've been thinking about moving to a EU country anyway, because no visas are needed there at all. EDIT: if they refuse entry, I would be flown back to Malaysia, and not to Finland where I'm from?
