  8. thailand-property.com I used them for my rental property and also found them very good for sales.
  9. Advice from here has been very helpful so am hoping you will bear with me a little longer with my questions. We're here on a tourist visa extension of 30 days so we have until the end of October. I'm Irish and my partner is from the Philippines. My plan is to go on to a retirement visa in June when I'm fifty. (Madam is 35) We had not expected to be here so soon, but work allowed me to do my last year consulting online so we came to Phuket to check it out as an option for retiring and are very happy here. I have a rental agreement on a villa for a year as our plan is to use Phuket as a base and look for a property here but also to check out properties in Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and maybe Hua Hin. My question is: are Immigration likely to give us much hassle if we are coming back regularly between now and June on tourist visas. I think the longest we would be out of Thailand would be a month between revisits. There is no issue with funds availability and our reasons for being here are genuine in the sense that we are exploring with a view to a purchase. Any suggestions / advice on situation would be appreciated. Thank you.
  10. I'm not sure how that would work. Perhaps one of the more experienced contributors would know.
  11. No. Just local address on the TM7.
  12. We dropped into Patong Immigration this morning with: TM7 Passport copy. Visa copy. Passport photo. 1900 THB. Picked up passport with 30 day extension an hour later.
  13. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated. Wayne
  14. Been done to death somewhere, I'm sure but... My partner and I are here on tourist visas. (We arrived at the airport and had passports stamped by immigration. No applications etc. 30 days) I'm from Ireland and my partner is from the Philippines. Can we get a 30 day extension at the Immigration place in Patong? Or do we have to leave and fly in again? Thank you all.
  15. That sounds about right. It's the same here in the Middle East. Mixture of various quotes. Anyway, it's already on the way. Time and I suppose some extra baht will see how it turns out.
  16. Thanks for all the advice folks. It's not going a plane. It's 600kg. My plan is to ship it and the mover has said they will take care of all the customs clearance and deliver it door to door. It's modular so is, as folks have suggested, going into a shipping crate with the rest of stuff. Most folks seem to think it will be fine once I have the cash to pay the duty and possibly pay someone off. Will let you know what happens. Thanks again.
  17. I own a soundproof booth that I now use mostly for music production - synthwave etc I'm going to Phuket arriving as TR and transferring to an ED visa and I really want to bring this thing with me, as I'm going on to a retirement visa next June and writing music will be taking up a lot of my retirement time. (I have already rented a villa for twelve months) Its value is around $3000 and I'm happy to pay duty on it. Maybe some of the long-termers here can let me know: What's the chances of them allowing me to bring it in. What can I expect to pay in duty? Is it just a matter of paying the right amount of money? It's just wood, glass and foam. Don't really want to lose my booth, and my new neighbors will also appreciate it! Many thanks for any advice you can give.
