  1. well,  I  just tried it with Krungthai bank and got the message:

Your card payment attempt was unsuccessful as your bank did not authorize the payment. Please try again and if the problem persists, contact your bank´s card payment department and ask them to allow card payments to Wise. Alternatively, you can fund this payment via another payment method or by using a different card.

  2. That might be a stupid question, but tbh I'm not sure how to go on since I read  Wise is somehow restricted in Thailand.

I  opened an account by email, so far so good.

    1. To get it activated, I would need to send some money to my account first. Can I do this using my Thai bank account?

    2.  Or easier, since I expecting some funds to be transferred to my wise account, I give my email or phone number to the sender. Once I received the money, I can go on with wise and KYC and finally transfer to Thailand.

    Any thoughts? Thank you.

The good news for you is that you will get plenty of stress free opportunities, if that is what you want. You can easily avoid publishing. In fact, most foreigners in Thai universities can't really publish. They're hired because they speak English and have a credential. Few manage to publish in Q1 journals at all. So if you don't want to publish either, you'll fit right in.

Well, I taught at a Rajabhat University. Standard salary 28800k per month, 23 hours a week. Wouldn't say it was stress free, actually teaching in a primary school was a much better experience.

  4. Yes, I know, mea culpa, I simply didn't check it when I got the passport back. And yes, I can ask immigration next time I'm going there. Just wonder if someone has an idea.

Background: Non-O , normally expires end of October. Applied for a Non-O with  a new issued passport. But have two stamps with different dates!? Why is that?

Since it is a land border pass must have exit stamp from Thai due to illegal border cross. But did your friend show exit stamp in his Philippino pass. ? And tell them the reason why he wants to enter by Thai pass ?

Well, he stays in Thailand on Filipino passport.   Got recently a Thai passport. To get rid of this visa situation he traveled to friendship bridge. Left Thailand using Filipino passport. So far, so good. No overstay possible in Thailand, officially departed. Only that Laos didn't let him in using Thai passport without departure stamp. Back to Thailand on 45 days visa on arrival. Ok, means it just works by flying out/in.  tbh, I didn't know that procedure either. My European passport never gets stamped by immigration when I leave or return back home.

  6. MY friend has two passports, a new Thai passport and Filipino. In order to avoid needing a Visa,  Thai Immigration recommended to go to Nong Khai /Laos (leave Thailand with Filipino Pass and enter Laos with Thai Pass) and enter Thailand on Thai passport. Yet, Laos immigration denied entry to Laos without departure stamp in Thai passport.

Does it only work when flying in/out of the country, let's say to Kuala Lumpur?
