1. To not spend time and money to travel to and from workplace or school 2. To be as quickly as possible to get to mall to stroll along and enjoy malls 3. Buying a car and having a driving license are not practical if you want to stay in bkk for several months

The current question is a 5-6k room WHICH is near a mall and a BTS /MRT station. After staying 2-3 months in BKK, I, as a foreigner, belatedly realize that it is vitally importan to rent a room which is close to both a mall and a bts/mrt station.
