If you are out in the 'sticks' as it were, then quite possibly, just don't go to Phuket or Pattaya?
The smart BMW's will catch you?????
Yes. My friend told me he never moved from the small town for years.

I know how it feels to be in overstay as I was myself few months ago. Go out, pay the fine, back with the proper visa. This weekend I come to meet a friend in Isan and, in his little town, he has a guy with 6 years overstay. Is that really possible that someone can "hide" here with a huge overstay?

I'd consider yourself lucky you got this back, move on and find elsewhere.
I have the bank transfer slip, so if he will not pay back, I will report to police, even if it's few thb.

Do they stop treating you and release you after a while when no payment is made? Or do keep you there as a medical prisoner till payment is made??
Few years ago I need to be hospitalised and before can go in, they ask me 10,000 THB cash deposit and to check my insurance. Of course it was not a government hospital.

As another poster said, most probably he found a better deal. Did you bargain hard to reduce the rent? May be he found another person who he though won't cause any trouble. Try looking for another place. There are plenty. Is it in Bangkok?
1) I did not do nothing about the rent. The owner made the price and i accepted it. Asked me a deposit to lock the condo for me and i sent it. Not a big amount, so I did it.
2) Pattaya.

Maybe the op @Minocan share how he booked the place and why he says there are no more available? Have you got your deposit back yet?
1) Booked using a group on Facebook and send the deposit (not a big one).
2) "No more available" is referred to the condo I would like to rent. Sorry for my English.
3) Not yet got the deposit back as got the message just yesterday.

Few weeks ago I deposited a sum for rent a condo. Now the owner wrote to me that he must cancel the booking as the room has some problem and it's not safe to stay. He also will return the money I sent. Maybe the question is stupid: can he do that? Cancel the booking few days before I will check in? Thank you.

Is there perhaps some misunderstanding? Obviously, WU had to ask for your passport for identification, but did they in addition ask you to point to the page showing your current permission to stay?
Correct: they always ask for the passport to check the personal data. But this time they asked me to point also where the permission of stay was. And they just take a copy of my personal data, that I signed.

Maybe you misunderstood OP? I agree and in fact I doubt they'd know one visa class fro6the next. Moreover, I can't see a teller caring. Odd.
Sometimes I even use my expired Thai Drs license
The point is that when I handle the passport, he asked to show him where was the visa stamp.
That never happened before. In the past just a copy of my data.

Your permission of stay would be in your pp.
What do you mean "they asked to show visa status.
In any event what's the issue.
Perhaps as it involved money transfer.
What's the big deal.
I mean that in the past, in the 2-3 times I used the WU service, bank employee never asked me to show my visa status. WU it's a money transfer, but in the past they just take a copy of my personal data. No issue and no big deal. Bank employee work for immigration now?

I went to a bank in the local Mall and used the western union service as need to send some money quickly. I used few times before this service and today, for the first time, they asked me to show my visa status. In the past, they just make a copy of my personal data and had to sign it.
It's just the bank employee that wanna do the immigration job, or now, no matter who, they can ask for your visa status? Thank you

I booked a condo for three months and transferred the owner a deposit of 3000 THB. As a receipt he send me a handwritten receipt with all the correct details.
It's a legal receipt to keep?
Thank you

I am going back to Thailand next week with a Non O visa. Some of you maybe remember my post from last week where I was asking about my overstay (not a long one): I paid the fine at Suvarnabhumi and got the overstay stamp. Apart the visa, there is something else I should bring in case the IO will ask about my overstay? Thank you.
-
1) Yes, Immigration is closed during the APEC days.
2) If your visa/extension ends during the closure, there will be no consequences on fees and/or overstay.

Just got one in the past to avoid waiting food at seven eleven. But you can use in many ways as someone wrote. If you a movies lover as I am, good one for popcorn.

Went to Wang Nam Khiao and back to Suvarnabhumi all ok. Even not a police checkpoints. Overstay cleared at airport, back in Thailand next week. Want to thank you all of you for answer me and not judge for the overstay. It was a mistake that will never ever happen again. Thank you to all of you.
