They will never lower the duties on their cash cow, the imported wine.
They already reduced it in January to zero I thought….

If you’re on a Thai language Ed visa, be prepared to get tested at immigration.

People scoff and scorn that the young lady rented a bike. Wow, jeepers, how dare she, stop the effing press! Get a life, old people. It is the best way to see this fair land and, if it is not for you, then so be it, but please avoid denigrating those that want to have fun and enjoy their life as they see fit.
Regards insurance: this is the very reason why I self insure here because you can bet your bottom dollar that those greasy b’stards will try to avoid paying out to the nth degree. I will insure a flight for cancellation and baggage but will not hand over money to these thieves for anything else. If I crash, empty my bank account and throw me in the river when it’s all gone, but I Will not give ‘money for nothing’ ! 🙂
And what happens if you kill or disable someone and you can’t afford to pay their bills?

Takes Bangkok Bank 15 minutes to print my bank letter. 12 months statements can take up to a week.

good luck with that
if I have to do a border run every 180 days - i will, ## them, but it won't happen, too complex to administer
That won’t make you non tax resident. If you spend a total of 180 days here in a tax year you’re tax resident. It’s not 180
days consecutively it’s 180 days in total….

Nothing like demonstrating to the whole world that you are so inept, so pathetic that you give up your sovereignty to allow a foreign power to come in and look after public safety.
Dont expect an average person there to realize how appalling this really is!
Did you maker the same commment when western police came here to assist as well?

What visa is that which includes a non-tax clause?
If tax law changes you’ll be paying new tax rates same as everyone else.

Could also be that the individual amount of pension received by some folks is under the Thai personl tax threshhold.
Are you aware of how low that threshold is?

Thanks for the answers. I know I won't be asked to show onward flight to the airline if I have a visa but are you saying they will issue me a visa without proof of onward flight?
Unfortunately you may very well be required to show onward flight on a tourist visa when you check in at the airport with your online.

Good. All the foreigners who fail to follow the rules are the cause of all the problems over the last 10 years or so.
Yeah for sure they are the major cause of Corona virus and the military government…

I do my extension every year at Nonthaburi. My bank statement and bank letter are never collected from the bank on the day I go to immigration. As long as it’s within the 7 days it’s fine if application. Never heard of photocopying every passport page at this or any other Thai immigration office. Very strange. I only gove data page, visa page and last entry stamp page. All signed in blue ink.

Question about Tax status

Lots of incorrect information on here. You are non resident for the tax year if in Thailand less than 180 days so no need to file a return.
