  1. Thanks everyone, well most of you anyway for your responses.  All I know is they successfully succeeded in putting the fear into me. No way am I showing up at Swampy again w/o a onward ticket and reservations from now on. Chok dee to you all. YMMV

  2. Cheers for the prompt reply ubonjoe. Could I impose on you again ask if you know if it is possible to do it electronically these days. There's something about it on the immigration website but it appears my browsers are incompatible. https://www.immigration.go.th/

    TIA

Or...if I do have to do it in person does Laksi have photo and photocopy services like Chaeng WATTHANA?

Reciprocity is required here, all Indians must be subject to testing prior to boarding any flights to Thailand.

Also make it a type of test which is particularly expensive and require that all original paperwork is presented both in Indian and then separately translated into Thai and notarised at the Embassy - all within 24 hours of the flight ????

The Chinese are coming back now, there's more important things to consider.

Damn straight!  What's good for the Thai goose is good for the Indian gander! Hard to believe the Kingdom isn't complaining about this.

The 5 year option is considerably more expensive. Plus you're not allowed more than 90 days per entry and maximum 180 days in a year.

Don't know where you're getting your info from. I just received my 5 year evisa for the fee of $80US. US, British, Japanese and Canadiens are allowed 180 day continuous stays, other nationalities 90 days. Whether one can return immediately is not quite clear.  Could you please post a link from GOI stating a maximum 180 days per year.  TIA

  5. It was circa 1984 or so when the Bangkok municipality raised the local bus fare from ฿1 to ฿2. Victory Monument looked like a war zone afterwards. Then of course there was 1973, 1976 and 1991. 2010 with the red and yellow fighting each other. Then recent protests a few years ago that CONVID conveniently put a stop to. Hmmm... how along until history starts singing another bloody Thai karaoke chorus?

The change of that ever happening is up there with reliable Immigration software, working mine detectors and the police moving away from hotmail addresses.

They can't even get the post office online with the banking system for QR payments unlike any street vendor these days.

Yes but national security systems tend to be the best of any government. Priorities you know.
