Thank you so much for the information.- this is super helpful to know! I did email the Thai Embassy in the UK to ask about this border but they replied something totally irrelevant. I will have a think what to do, and will report back about VOA at Chong Mek in due course (not that anyone needs this info as most lucky people are visa-exempt????)

Sorry to be off the topic a bit, but do you guys know if Thai visa on arrival is available in Chong Mek? I've been researching but couldn't find much information about this border...thanks in advance!
